Microsoft users worldwide, including banks and airlines, reported widespread outages on Friday, hours after the technology company said it was gradually fixing an issue affecting access to Microsoft 365 apps and services.
A representative with American Airlines confirmed Friday morning that a technical issue with CrowdStrike was impacting multiple carriers. As of 4:30 a.m. EDT, it and other airlines across the globe, including United Airlines and Delta, said they had grounded all flights until the tech issue could be resolved. The FAA confirmed Allegiant flights had also been grounded.

I work in software development and there are so many times when teams are pressured to "just get the release out!" because something was committed without proper planning so vital testing gets pushed to the side. But this is a great example of what reputation damage can occur with poor quality controls.
Quality is hidden in the details. And trust is not an obstacle to control.😊
This a interview question "what would you do , whdn a bug found before a major deployment " ; or your team reported , the release is not ready ontime , what woukd you do ?"
Sadly , the answer the companies like is that the release goes one regardless issues.

easy fix boot in safe mode and restore to last known good system turn-off updates. :)
Would say this might be a reason to go to Linux but don't know about apps and this might still affect servers and etc using Windows.

The company I work for is down. Called our IT department and they have no timetable for when our computers will be back up. I have tried to restart my work computer 12 times

Crowdstrike uses as well Linux servers, and that ones didn't crash. We all know that free Linux on servers work are better and safer than the extremely expensive Microsoft software are. Clients that demand the servers to be windows are those who made the wrong choice ones. And now they experience the consequences of this. 💯
