This is so weird, less than a year ago I was being taught by Tom and now he's got thousands of fans... Great Job Mr Ball!
He seems like a great person. It's interesting that his goodness can come through on camera. Though I am in US, I have followed him since his first BGT audition. This video - looking much more casual - seems to be a different side of him. He looks younger and hipper; less Michael Ball and more Josh Groban. Please tell me more about what he's like.
Is he as lovely as he comes across? He just seems like the most genuine young man there is :)

@@jlasf I only had him for a short period of time as a music teacher. I'm not very creative in a musical sense but his teaching made me want to have a music lesson. He's very very humble, even when he was in school whilst we were all watching him on the BGT stage, he didn't want to make a big thing of it, even though we have hundreds of questions to ask and he deserved to make a big thing of it. Just a really good person at heart!

I was in my teens when Simon and Garfunkel introduced this song. There was war and turmoil in our world. This song was calming during those troubling times. Fast forward to Tom Ball and his stunning performance of this precious song. Again there is turmoil in our world.. Tom Ball, this baby boomer loves you. His ability to make you feel every word is simply incredible.. A lot of people have good voices but not a lot of people can make you FEEL a song. Absolutely amazing Tom!

Did you not see the “music video” he did of Sounds of Silence?!? He looks completely UNlike the Tom Ball who stepped out into the stage that first time and OWNED IT!!! Now they appear to be doing to him what they did to Susan Boyle! It’s a travesty!

I'm waiting. Been listening to his AGT version for the past six days since I saw him last Monday. Each time I listen, it's as if it's the 1st time I've heard him. I get goosies!!!! Seeing him do this live on AGT and now watching this video just blows me away. This remarkably talented man has re-transformed this song once again into a powerful statement for our times. He is absolutely fantastic.

In 1974, our grade 7 class was to study and individually write what we thought these lyrics meant, which was such a moving experience, I have felt its teachings every time I've heard it since, but Tom, this is hands down the most sensational, phenomenal, stratospheric version I have ever heard, it will move me for life! I have listened to the original, Disturbed, and Pentatonix (and I'm a fan). However, none have ever moved me as much as yours did. Both your rendition on Got Talent and this video are very moving and very relevant today.
Disturbed's version includes the parts that were considered to harsh for this version but it is a terribly aggressive version of a plaintive song.
I totally agree, John. Can't count how many times I've listened to Tom Ball's version(must be over a 100X and counting); but everytime I listen, it gives me "goosies". Yes, this video is very moving and very relevant today. I couldn't have said it any better.

I will tell you one thing, Mr. Ball just gives everyone goosebumps, I sure get them when ever I hear this mans voice. He is something else. I am 74 years old and in my life time, I have never heard such a nice and firm voice as his. Excellent job, sir.

Me too, first album I have purchased in my 74 years, and we grew up in the 60s and 70's when music was great. Now I have my purchased versions and they don't sound as good on my phone, so I had to go out and buy a Bluetooth stereo system, to listen. I still prefer watching Tom sing, it adds another dimension.
@@Ciricky Hello, I will tell you one thing. I was also brought up in the 50 and 60's. I am a doo wop fan, big time. Until I heard Tom Ball. I just about fell of the chair when I heard this man. Now he can sing a tune. I played the french horn and trombone in school so I do know music. This man can do a tune. He is just perfect in his keeping the tone and everything he does is spot on. I listen to him a lot of the times in my shop.

I don't listen in my shop...power tools make too much noise, but every night before I go to sleep for about an hour, and well now I am sneaking in some videos. What was your favorite performance. I've been listening to this song sung by different singers but Tom's rendition has emotionally moved me and made me focused on its beautiful message to the world.

His audition on AGT was mind blowing for this song captured more of his emotion but I’d say it wasn’t an audition it was Tom performing to the world and world listening captivating us all ! I was so upset Tom didn't win BGT + AGT. And I quietly could hear the Holy Spirit say he won it All without having to pay the price. Tom will be used greatly and if he can live part of the dream humbly he will live many more. So glad to have shared and enjoyed who he is.

I grew up listening to this powerful song, but listening to Tom telling the “story” with his phenomenal voice just made me very emotional for the first time.
