Miss Nicaragua has a good runway presence but she has terrible communication skills, how will she travel to different countries? Being a Miss Universe you need to be able to touch the hearts of many people through your voice and actions. From the Top 5, Miss Thailand was the clear frontrunner who embodied the leadership skills required by the MU org. This year reminded me of the 2020 edition when Mexico despite having bad answers beat Brazil and Peru who were far better speakers and more beautiful than the winner. Watching as a Russian, it saddens me when they unplaced Miss Russia, she is beautiful and gave a great preliminary performance but the judges snubbed her due to political differences. At least Nawat gave the Best Evening Gown to Miss Russia, this Anne Joker is not worthy to be the owner of Miss Universe.

As a born Nicaraguan raise in the USA! I have to say I am happy for Nicaragua! But I do understand that Philippines should have made the top 5 even top 3 . But let’s not hate on anyone, Sheynnis did an amazing Job all around and she deserved to win!

Your review and thoughts are spot on. I blame the judges' bias on not including Philippines in the top 5. She got all the major awards and not advancing her in the top 5? It's absurd. It was definitely a set up to make it easier for their selected candidates to advance.
To MUO, don't push for transformational beauty and voice for change if you will not uphold those in your choices! You're becoming that other pageant who's pushing for 'Stop the War' and not doing anything about it other than just mentioning the words. Where's your integrity? Paula Shugart certainly do not see it that's why she's leaving.
After watching the Top 5 Q&A, not one of them gave good answers and none of them are worthy of the Miss Universe crown.

I have to disagree on this. Her performance was better than Thailand yes. But her body was not better than other girls and unfortunately her money wasn’t enough to make her make it that far. I was even shocked she won. Specially with gravidez which made a way better performance than Dee. Karma is a bitch. Right?
OMG I totally agree. I was shocked India and South Africa was not in the top 10. Then again most of the judges were Spanish and only for the Spanish girls. In the top 10 it was only 3 countries that were not Hispanic. Peru , El Salvador and Spain were not stronger than India and South Africa. It's just because they were not Spanish. They need to pick more diverse judges and not most Spanish
This year Latinos cheated, they wanted to crown Latino winner and eliminate all the strong contenders with strong public speaking skills. India, South Africa and Philippines would have aced Q&A round but they crowned old and ugly aunty as the winner.
Thats the reason why MmD did not win because she's not a latina or Spanish speaking girl some judges maybe 3 or 4 gave her a very score on the final gown competition !!!

Michelle deserves to be in top 5! We sent a candidate of exceptional caliber - a pure-blooded Pinay, hailing from a beauty queen lineage, boasting education from De LaSalle and Harvard. Her powerful advocacy for Autism and her role as a transformational leader are beyond question, proven by her winning 3 prestigious awards. Yet, in a move of blatant disrespect, she was overlooked for a Thai representative in the top 5 of Miss Universe. This is not just unfair, it's unacceptable! #JusticeForMMD
This is Miss Latina Universe not Miss Universe, most of the judges are Latino, pageant was beld in El Salvador = Crown Miss Nicaragua. MU popularity has been on a decline and Anne has filed for bankruptcy. Congratulations 👏🏻
Your perception is not fully correct because Nicaragua deserved that crown but judges did some dirty things in the top 10 and top 5, they should have included India and South Africa in the top 10, philipines in top 5, they knew it will be hard for them to judge if these ladies are in next list, however latina judges picked a latina winner, but Nicaragua is deserving one

I’m SEA and want our fellow Asian to win too! But as soon as I saw miss Nicaragua, I started smiling. Idk her so I have zero expectation. However her energy, her walks and gowns are all phenomenal. And tbh I cannot imagine anyone else who can replace her.

The Philippines evening gown is so immaculate, regal and iconic! It’s befitting the crown and a victor but I’m seriously baffled on how in the hell didn’t she make it to the top 5 at the least? I have so many questions! Her preliminary performance and her finals both the swimsuit and evening gown is phenominal. She killed everyone in the evening gown showdown. She aced all of the segments! Something is not right here. She bagged three awards and her credentials are solid. I guess they did everything they could to prevent her from holding that mic. She would’ve demolished them all.

Her gown is Not Immaculate, Not Iconic, and Not Regal. I used those adjectives on a comment a few years ago and now everyone is using them, without knowing whar those words mean. Her dress is edgy, creative, well-thought-of, innovative. But no it is Not immaculate, not Regal, and not Iconic. It may also be referred to as pretentious, flambouyant, preposterous, ridiculous, or irreverent (Google those term to improve your vocabulary skills). That is my advocacy to help improve the comm skills of pageant fans. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

TBH the diversity of the judges and the seer disbalance of judges belonging to a certain demography is appalling. To say the least, Nadia on the judging panel is ludicrous, SA and India deserved to be in the top 10.
The girls who deserved to be in the Top 5 were left out because they knew other girls were stronger speakers but kept the ones who would make it easier for Latinos to win. Sorry for the long rant George, Thank you for being honest and straightforward about the rigging of this year's contest. Miss Universe has lost its reputation as the biggest pageant, Miss Grand International has now replaced this circus show.
The ones left out were out bc they didn’t perform properly on swimsuit competition. Even Thailand, her swimsuit was terrible! No only her performance she picked Nepal’s same swimsuit. Terrible option. Even tho she made it to top 5 and almost win. And btw, I supported Thailand and I’m Latin. So the idea of judges trying hard to put a Latina is such a huge lie! Specially since only one made to top 3. This kind of comments make me sick cause you put peoples performances down. Michelle did an ok performance on swimsuit that’s the reality. Her body wasn’t one of the best either so it’s time to Philippines fans to move on and accept she was not gonna make it. I knew it from the beginning. I even saw miss Philippines universe and made me sick gravidez wasn’t elected which was obvious there was favoritism over dee. So I strongly believe there’s karma. And I know gravidez would had done a waaaay better job than dee. But michael had contacts/ money and made finally after trying so many years. So time to grow up dee fans.

I believe Miss Nicaragua meant, 'that was in the 1750s'... not exactly 1750.. maybe it was just lost in the translation. Also just to note, all of them missed an important element in the final question... and that is living the life of their chosen woman 'for a year'. It was not just asking for who and why, but it also asked for a timeline. I believe the question was looking for what kind of actions they would like to pursue or achieve during their one year of reign if chosen as Miss Universe.

To answer your question regarding Miss Nicaragua's Final 3 answer, despite the bell ring, she wasn't penalized because extra time is allowed if an interpreter is needed. This was stated at the beginning of the Top 5 round of questions. Incidentally, I know for a fact that Sheynnis can speak English. She probably preferred to use an interpreter so she understood the question to its fullest and so the Spanish speaking community could understand what she was saying. I have known of other foreign speaking contestants to do the same thing.

She speak English but not as fluent like Chile or Thailand. She spoke it with a thick accent and on a conversational level.
Miss Nicaragua is a clear standout beauty. Also, she has a sense of warmth about her that stands out.

Happy birthday, George! Please help Veena with MUT 2024. I don't understand why she's not popular among Thai fans but she shines on stage. While Antonia is undeniably beautiful and speaks well, Antonia can also be tense and inconsistent. I kept thinking about Veena while watching the finals and how this format and version Miss Universe would have suited her more considering that the Q&A this year was not impressive and didn't ask hard questions. I think Veena can easily outsmile, outshine and outperform Sheynnis if she were here.

Nice honest review. Only R'Bonney Gabriel can pull off a gown in that design. I read it was made by a Filipino designer. I liked the gown except for that thing in the hip level which disrupted the flow. Yes, it is something you only see in Paris fashion show. I love R'Bonney. She's my favorite Miss Universe.
In terms of the pageant, I honestly think something fishy happened during the break. Because Miss Thailand and Miss Philippines tied with an 89 score. The biggest question is who made the ultimate decision to choose Miss Thailand as Top 5? That's a mystery that needs investigating. I do not believe that MU El Salvador made an honest mistake flashing Miss Philippines as one of TOP 5. Something happened during the commercial break. And from what I saw in the videos, it seems no one told MU El Salvador that "Mis Thailand" was eventually chosen in the tie. Because the IT people did not change the TOP 5 until it was announced. In other words, the person/people who decided to drop Michelle Dee from the TOP 5 forgot to update the IT of MU El Salvadore. I think that's what happened.

No CZcamsr who uploads his videos criticizing the election of the current Miss Universe was part of the jury that evaluated the candidates during the preliminaries where the greatest number of points are added to outline the future winner. That said, Nicaragua won the crown cleanly because since its arrival at the concentration it accumulated those points, and the affection of its people and the country subsides. Obviously also the admiration of the jury. This was not the year for Thailand or the Philippines, they have to turn the page and prepare better for next year.

What if the MUO decides that for the better part of her reign that she just travels to Spanish speaking countries, to attract more Latino investors. There are 21 Spanish speaking countries. Does travelling just to those countries diminish her reign and capability to converse with people? Hmmmmn!

You congratulated her because she was pretty so clearly you missed the entire package Sheynnis brought to the competition so first she speaks Spanish and English, secondly she’s a Communications major which is what got her into the top 40 at the Miss World competition, do your homework. Thirdly she’s different from all the girls, many arrived with a horse tail on their head and Nicaragua looked different, fourth: her beauty, moves, body, charisma, outshined all. ALL. I repeat ALL. Fifth and most important you do not speak Spanish so again you should of done your research because Miss Nicaragua’s final response reference and ERA

Everyone I know includes me all said they like Miss Nicaragua and has a feeling that she gonna win despite not knowing anything about her. She was confident, joyful and I smile every time she comes on screen. Me personally was not expecting for her to win tho since she don’t have the beauty nor the popularity like Thailand or Philippines. You spoke what I was feeling while watching the pageant, total shit show. The main hosts were talking nonsense on stage, bring back steve harvey, he know how to control the crowd with his voice. Also, I did not understand the selection committee had mostly latino people with one tiktok girl, what are their qualifications to judge such a big pageant? The new era of Miss Universe is starting in a negative way, I felt so bad when Anntonia lost the crown to old granny Nicaragua. Cannot speak english and looks lost when people talk to her in english, the quality of winners since last year and now is poor. JKN and MU org can go down and fall.

Michelle got into the top 20 via fan vote, so she was not selected by the judges. So she was lucky to make it into the top 10. Only Ariella in 2013 was a fan selected contestant able to reach top 5.

Miss nicaragua actually said 1759, but the translator on the stage basically made her answer shorter even the name of the women was said wrong, Please before spreading the answer double check it.

I just have to point this out... cause it is unfair to the winner who really deserved it. I have seen posts and rants telling it was a Latino contest. NO! It wasn't The selection of the judges were really diverse compared to some years where it really favored a specific demographic.
It just baffles me that people just open their mouths... without verifying things first. Michelle was just not the favorite of the judges, and we have to respect that. She did amazing in the contest and that is all we need to see.
This is not a BEAUTY pageant anymore. This has become a woke pageant. As I have been saying since IMG. I am really satisfied with the winner anywas this year.
The result in top 5 was heavily cooked....who is the mastermind of switching....excluding Philippines in top 5.. is not an honest mistake,, but deliberately done...the cooking of Thai owner....
Maybe The judges were blind, maybe the owner rigged the competition, Phillipines non placement after that performance will be known as biggestbsnubs in history of Miss Universe...

I think Thailand deserves to win because of her beauty and talent. Nicaragua looks good but can't speak any English. Not fair for the other twos
From the Top 3, Thailand was the only one can save the Miss Universe org. Anne has declared bankruptcy because she could not pay off $20 million USD to buy the pageant. We are hosting the pageant next year in Mexico and I have lost my respect for MU org, especially Anne.
I was surprise Thailand was even in top 3. Beside her beauty, she lack energy, her walk was robotic and boring gown as well. I love her in MUT, she def stand out and very beautiful. Idk what happened to her in MU.
