W.Bank - Palestinian Police Take Control Of Jenin

Just before dawn on Monday morning (13/11) Palestinian policemen
took control of Jenin, the first West Bank town to be evacuated by
Israeli troops. Thousands of Palestinians lined the streets,
dancing, singing and firing shots in the air, to welcome the 200
Palestinian policemen as they arrived at the central police
station. Palestinians cheered, whistled and shouted "God is great" when a convoy of 14 jeeps and armored vehicles drove out of the fenced compound from which Israel had ruled Jenin during 28 years of military occupation. Hundreds of residents swarmed through the military administration buildings and two Palestinian flag were hoisted on the roof.
