    I already knew Hocus Pocus was gonna win, however "Best Costume" should've gone to Halloweentown. When I think "Costume", I think Costumes of EVERYONE. I, also, include Make-Up, in that category, and Halloweentown had a lot more variety, in that category.

    I feel Halloweentown deserves at least one more point for the fact that while hocus pocus is only just recently getting a much deserved sequel, Halloweentown spawned a complete 4 film series from the jump that generally improved on the original with each film, all with the same cast minus Kimberly J Brown being replaced by Sara Paxton in the 4th, and while the absence of the late great Debbie Reynolds would be felt, the final film still left room to continue without having to leave the Cromwell clan but is a diverse enough world where they could do so maybe even in the form of a TV series. The hocus pocus sequel so far wont even have the same cast other than Bette Mendler so it may not even be a continuation of the Sanderson sisters antics but probably some other coven with a very loose connection and a story that will probably only be an updated retelling of the original story with slightly different details, I could be wrong on that but without at least all 3 witches it's probably just going to be a sequel in name/concept only at best.

    • @TECfan1
      @TECfan1 Před 5 lety +9

      Halloweentown didn't really get better with sequels. Id say the first 2 really were the best. The third was OKAY but took place too much in the mortal world. And the fourth was awful and didn't feel the same without Kimberly.

    • @1113jace
      @1113jace Před 5 lety +5

      I too feel that Halloweentown deserved one more point. Although this is a debate between Hocus Pocus and only the first Halloweentown film, It should be noteworthy that over the span of it's film series, Halloweentown has become much richer with lore than Hocus Pocus, and is overall more immersive (I personally think at least).

    Hocus Pocus really is on a whole different level than Halloweentown, I don't think it is fair to compare them because Hocus Pocus should have won out in every category. Comparing Hocus Pocus to The Adams Family would have been more appropriate, as they both had excellent casts and were released in theaters, as well as having higher budgets. Plus, they were only filmed a couple of years apart and would have had a similar audience.

    • @trevormillerentertainment

    Hocus Pocus blows Halloweentown out of the water! They felt bad and gave it a point for Plot, When it's plot can be explained in one sentence. Then gave them both a point for Most Iconic at the end, in an attempt to lessen the blow.
    I was born when Hocus Pocus came out & didn't know that Halloweentown existed, Let alone 4 of them, & haven't seen one.
    To end on a good note, I agree that transforming the town every year is cool as Hell! (Pun intended)

    I was born in 94 so I was at the perfect age to enjoy them both. I love both but Hocus Pocus is overall superior. Too different types of movies though, to be fair.

    Hocus Pocus is my favorite of the two. Halloweentown is ok, but it just seems to be geared towards a somewhat younger audience whereas Hocus Pocus can be for the general audience.

    Ahem, what about showing kathy Najimy some love? She had just acted in Sister Act, and when researching her role, she consulted with current individuals of the wiccan faith to make sure her portrayal didnt offend or overly stereotype their culture, while remaining true to script
