Debbie Reynolds... God rest her. She was wonderful in "Halloweentown".
A true 90’s and Disney fan watches both
Agreed
Exactly!
And a true fan will never get over the Disney switch in ht4
@@padraigpearse1551 Exactly! It deeply hurt me when that happened. It's something that has been hard to deal with for years.
Agreeable love both movies
Hocus Pocus still an all time fav 😄
why must we pit two beautiful strong women against each other
...their not, their comparing which film is better.
How are you today are you having a good time
Gtfo
@Panchito Pistoles there are male witches Kalabar etc
Lets be real... These two had no business going up against each other. The only things they have in common is that they are Disney movies that center around witches. Might as well throw Bedknobs and Broomsticks and Twitches in there.
I already knew Hocus Pocus was gonna win, however "Best Costume" should've gone to Halloweentown. When I think "Costume", I think Costumes of EVERYONE. I, also, include Make-Up, in that category, and Halloweentown had a lot more variety, in that category.
Agreed. I knew this comparison was wrong when they said that hocus pocus won that
Hocus Pocus has probably spawned some of the best memes of all time! But Aggie Cromwell is the first one who taught me that you should never aim to be normal! I have both on Blue-Ray!
BrandSinger C. Is Halloweentown on BD? I haven’t seen it!!!
I had no idea Haloweentown was on BR 😯
I like both Hocus Pocus and halloweentown
maxine chan so do i
FOOLS, I WILL WATCH AND LOVE BOTH!!! YOU CANNOT PUT MASTERPIECE AGAINST MASTERPIECE
I feel Halloweentown deserves at least one more point for the fact that while hocus pocus is only just recently getting a much deserved sequel, Halloweentown spawned a complete 4 film series from the jump that generally improved on the original with each film, all with the same cast minus Kimberly J Brown being replaced by Sara Paxton in the 4th, and while the absence of the late great Debbie Reynolds would be felt, the final film still left room to continue without having to leave the Cromwell clan but is a diverse enough world where they could do so maybe even in the form of a TV series. The hocus pocus sequel so far wont even have the same cast other than Bette Mendler so it may not even be a continuation of the Sanderson sisters antics but probably some other coven with a very loose connection and a story that will probably only be an updated retelling of the original story with slightly different details, I could be wrong on that but without at least all 3 witches it's probably just going to be a sequel in name/concept only at best.
Halloweentown didn't really get better with sequels. Id say the first 2 really were the best. The third was OKAY but took place too much in the mortal world. And the fourth was awful and didn't feel the same without Kimberly.
I too feel that Halloweentown deserved one more point. Although this is a debate between Hocus Pocus and only the first Halloweentown film, It should be noteworthy that over the span of it's film series, Halloweentown has become much richer with lore than Hocus Pocus, and is overall more immersive (I personally think at least).
AGREED
Pretty sure the Hocus Pocus Sequel was a hoax...

Pick? For what? They're both amazing
I love both .
Hocus Pocus is my favorite both are amazing. There will never be another Debbie Reynolds. R.I.P. Debbie Reynolds you are loved and missed.
Hocus Pocus really is on a whole different level than Halloweentown, I don't think it is fair to compare them because Hocus Pocus should have won out in every category. Comparing Hocus Pocus to The Adams Family would have been more appropriate, as they both had excellent casts and were released in theaters, as well as having higher budgets. Plus, they were only filmed a couple of years apart and would have had a similar audience.
Merrily We Go but hocus pocus vs Addams family wouldn't be fair either hocus pocus would win every category
Only caveat is that Hocus Pocus, while releasing in theaters, started out as a Disney Channel Original Movie. It wasn't until an executive at Disney said, "Oh, hell with that, we're doing this one right!" And right, they did.
I like Halloweentown better. It's less scary then Hocus Pocus, and plus I'm born in 1993 so I am partial with Hocus Pocus, which is an really great movie.
These movie's are like Cheese or like a fine wine, they always get better every year 🎃👻
Hocus pocus both great to watch
Don't forget twitches. It's sort of a combination of both movies.
I'm watching both
Same
I like them both but Halloweentown will always be my favorite movie/movie series
I do love Hocus Pocus but Halloweentown will always be a little more special to me because Debbie Reynolds always reminded of my grandmother 💕 RIP to both beauties.
Sarah was the only witch in the group who wasn't evil. She's my favorite witch. I would love to see her get redeemed.
She was a siren!
She lured children they were going to eat!
That was the extent of her role,
As well as being a piece of eye-candy.
Corset... Singing on that broomstick...
Sorry, I blacked-out for a sec.
As an “elder millennial” I truly feel like this is the equivalent of asking a parent to choose between their children. I refuse.
they're both my halloween guiilty pleasures but lets see what msMojo has to say.
Hocus Pocus is the G.O.A.T for Halloween movies
Zain Jackson-brown what does g o a t Stand for ?
@@Missmagazinebura
Greatest.
Of.
All.
Time.
It's been ages since I've watched the Halloweentown movies. I hope they release them on DVD on day but definitely hocus pocus all the way!
...As of eleven years ago, all the Halloweentown movies are on DVD, and they're pretty cheap. You can buy the whole series on Amazon for under twenty bucks.
Like the other commenter, theyre on Amazon & if you live in a country with a Walmart, they have all four in stock for Halloween!
@@thatredhead7366 it’s all good they’re on Disney+ now thx!
I would rather watch Halloween town series . It's the tradition my son and I have.
Sandy R-w I like both Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown
@@Missmagazinebura Hocus-pocus scares my son.
@@sandyr-w6906 hocus pocus isn't even that scary people.
@@caseyfreshman1202 I know it's not that scary to me but I just didn't like it, but for my young son, he cried he was so scared.
@@sandyr-w6906 well i hope even though it won't even happen probably i hope that your youngest son gets over his fear of hocus pocus.
hocus pocus is so amazing
I love them both, but you can’t refuse the complete charm and hilarity of Hocus Pocus.
Both are awesome! If I had to choose, I would choose Hocus Pocus, but in the category of sequels, the trophy goes to Halloween Town.
Hocus Pocus all the way!
I put a spell on you
I love Halloweentown better.
Love Is A dream omg me too, I seen it in 1999, first time I had Disney channel. I’ll definitely watch both movies when my son is more older, so he can know Halloween movies are good fun, not just for scaring 🙃
Same I’ve seen them all
Nyo Austria so much memories when seeing all of Halloweentown movies, and Hocus Pocus, I want my little boy to enjoy old 90s movies, especially my favorite Halloween movies but the good fun ones. 🤔😁
What about twitches? It's sort of a combination of the two.
Natasha short please don't insult these movies like that.
Damn you're good. Two best movies.
I gotta give it to Halloweentown. I love everything about it so Halloweentown for me is the winner
Hocus Pocus blows Halloweentown out of the water! They felt bad and gave it a point for Plot, When it's plot can be explained in one sentence. Then gave them both a point for Most Iconic at the end, in an attempt to lessen the blow.
I was born when Hocus Pocus came out & didn't know that Halloweentown existed, Let alone 4 of them, & haven't seen one.
To end on a good note, I agree that transforming the town every year is cool as Hell! (Pun intended)
& if it's a part of your childhood, Fantastic.
You have 4 movies to binge.
For me, I'm pumped for my sequel... Finally.
I remember Hocus Pocus from my childhood, but I still like Halloween Town ant the sequels.
They should make
hocus pocus a horror movie with lots of blood.
Both. I love both films. Always fun to watch them on Halloween. And the Halloween town sequels too.
I like both movies but I've only seen HalloweenTown this year (not for the first time, it was a re-watch)
Yay I love Hocus Pocus and the fact that it won this contest makes me even more happy ♥
Interesting trivia: The three Sanderson sisters costumes were actually reused in Halloweentown 2 and Worn by three extras in the film near the end, during the scene where the citizens of Halloweentown are returned back to their normal selves.
i dont know why i watched this before i watched it i knew it would be hocus pocus for me
I go with Hocus Pocus because of songs like I put a spell on you and come, little children have become Halloween classic
Nothing can beat Hocus Pocus it's one of my all-time favorites and it's definitely become a halloween tradition 🎃
Kid Danger: *holds my wing* oh god! why did you have to make me choose?!? i like both movies! *frowns and holds my wing*
Fun fact Halloweentown 1 has an extra wearing Winifred’s costume, and Halloweentown 2 has an extra wearing Sarah’s costume
Can both win please?
I LOVE Hocus Pocus. I will not disagree.
Like it's even a damn competition. Hocus Pocus!
Hocus Pocus all the way!!! When Halloween is around the corner, I must watch that movie at least once!!!!
My allegiances lie to Hocus Pocus now adays. It came out when I was ONLY 2 YEARS OLD, so you can't fault me for having a love for Halloweentown and it's sequels... Except the college one... But Hocus Pocus just wins with better cast, plot, and jokes, and musical talent or emphasis. I mean, any spell in that is in an actual rhyming spell, to the point 'I put a spell on you' was actually a freaking spell and musical number in one.
It doesn’t matter which is better to me both of them are great movies although I do have more memories with Halloween town then hocus pocus
I like both movies, I especially love the disco version of I put a spell on you from Hocus Pocus.
Halloween town all the way
Both are my top favourite childhood classic Halloween movies so both are amazing movies, but if I had to pick only one: I’d have to say Hocus Pocus. I love Halloweentown but there is just something about Hocus Pocus for me. It is my number one all time favourite Halloween classic ever. I’ve watched it the most ever since I was a kid and I can’t go a year without watching it. Hocus Pocus 2 is not bad and still good but the original is way better
i love all disney movies and halloweentown is my fav😀😀
Hocus Pocus get's my vote everytime. One of the best Halloween theme movies.
I love both.
Also I just noticed the cat screams as well when they see Billy come out of grave at 1:09
I love both of these movies. However, Hocus Pocus takes the cake for me as it was a film that would scare me to death at the core of my childhood. I was born in 95, so the first time I saw the film I had to have been at least 7-8 years old. I just remember each year that it was aired on Disney Channel being so scared, they did such a good job. Anyone else agree with me?
Both are childhood movies that I still adore and watch every Halloween
The movie theater scene from halloweentown sends chills down my spine, even to this day.
Both!!!! The whole entire Halloweentown movies too!!!
Halloweentown
Both of the films are iconic but this is almost mean to compare the two. Hocus Pocus is on an entirely different level.
I knew Hocus Pocus would win I love them both
Hocus Pocus also has a stage show during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party in Orlando
Hocus Pocus! I was 8 when it came out and saw it in theatres! A cult classic!
MsMojo knew we love both and would watch lol but I like how we're all watching like we don't know Hocus Pocus is just on a higher level😂
Man this is like Mike Tyson in his prime Hocus Pocus just knock the hell out of Halloweentown lol
HalloweenTown and Hocus Pocus are both amazing movies 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
After you when I was younger Kalabar's other form used to freak me out but now since I'm older not so much I just see it as a ghetto scarecrow, while the creature that Gwen gets turned into in Halloweentown 2 still freaks me out like when she first gets transformed that's when it freaks me out, but then anything after that with her in that form found out last year don't bug me anymore
I could never chose both are special in their own wicked way ❤️
Double Double Toil and Trouble is on HULU btw lol
deelgee89 Love that one
I like both though thanks for reminding me that I have to get Hocus Pocus as a digital copy to add to my Disney Movie Digital Library and I have movies that haven't even came out in Australia on DVD or Blu-Ray yet. Also I grew up with both Hocus Pocus as a kid when I was 10 years old but Halloweentown is still good for nice unwind with the family and still able to be enjoyed
I think this is kind of pointless. As you say countless times, Hocus Pocus was theatrical and had a higher budget, so obviously Hocus Pocus will get picked most times. Halloweentown had no chance on some of the rounds.
Love them both but tho didn't seem like a fair comparison just cause one was made with a higher budget and that helped with 2 categories would've made more sense if it was Hocus Pocus vs the nightmare before Christmas or Halloweentown vs Twitches or something like that
Hocus pocus is ICONIC
Hocus Pocus came out when I was 6 and I was 11 when Halloweentown came out but I still watch them both every year. However, I have Hocus Pocus on dvd so I watch that a lot more.
Whitney Salcido I was just a baby but sometimes I wish I was 6 in 93
There is no competition, Hocus Pocus is the best!
I like hocus pocus but it’s my tradition as a lot of my friends traditions to watch Halloweentown every year.
I love both. Hocus pocus is more for older kids. Halloween town is for younger but whole family can enjoy.
Hocus Pocus is celebrating their 25th anniversary.
MsMojo: Which will you be watching this Halloween?
Me: Uuuuh, both? Plus about a dozen others?
Halloween town reminds me of a mix between hocus pocus and nightmare before christmas
both where good BUT my vote goes to Halloween town. i honestly think the challenges they put up for each other was more or less one sided but there is a reason y hocus pocus didnt get squeals that have stood over every halloween because the story just ends unlike halloween town they managed to get a whole life time in just 4 movies well other then grown up life time but college close enough
I was born in 94 so I was at the perfect age to enjoy them both. I love both but Hocus Pocus is overall superior. Too different types of movies though, to be fair.
This should even be a thing! Both are amazing and I watch them all the damn time
Love both, but HOCUS POCUS!!!
Hocus Pocus is my favorite of the two. Halloweentown is ok, but it just seems to be geared towards a somewhat younger audience whereas Hocus Pocus can be for the general audience.
Y’all can fight me but Halloweentown > Hocus Pocus
Ahem, what about showing kathy Najimy some love? She had just acted in Sister Act, and when researching her role, she consulted with current individuals of the wiccan faith to make sure her portrayal didnt offend or overly stereotype their culture, while remaining true to script
Allison Brousseau The last Movie I saw with her was Descendants
I love them both! I watch them every Halloween
was there any doubt that Hocus Pocus will win
The both are very good , i wished that hocus pocus should got more success in the 90s.
Hocus Pocus Will Always Be My Favorite Halloween Movie Ever!!! 🎃😍😍😉👍🏻
always hocus pocus I am Sarah for all hallows eve
Hocus Pocus was originally to be released on Disney channel under the name Halloween House.
*Chain:*
"I put a spell on you, and now you're mine"
HOCUS POCUS!!
