A cricut joy would be fun for my room. I don't have space for a bigger machine. Dipping my toes into the cricut world, so that would be the best one for me.
The Cricut joy xtra would probably be a better fit for my crafting needs. Thank you for sharing/comparing the two machines.
I had thought about the smaller machine, but realized my projects are just too ambitious for it, but think it would be great to take to craft fairs to customize stuff on the spot!

Thanks for this review. I currently have the Joy. If my Joy were to quit working I probably would purchase the Joy Xtra. However, I am disappointed that Cricut does not offer the Smart Paper Sticker Cardstock for the Xtra. I use it all the time in my Joy. I wonder if I could buy the Smart Paper for the Maker 3 and cut it to fit the Xtra.

I love both machines, but because I already have a Maker 3 to make print and cut stickers, for me the best option is the Cricut Joy 👍🏼

Joy xtra looks to be one you can use more. Love it
I love my Cricut Joy…and was going to upgrade to an Xtra…However, I ended up just getting an Explore Air 2 because I wanted to do even bigger projects. But an Xtra is still super tempting.

I prefer cri cutter joy extra, because one can print and then cut. Is better for paper board models,
For the circuit joy xtra can you place several odds and ends (not a regular paper)on the mat to cut or does it have to be 8.5 by 11?
I would go with the cricut joy extra when I decide to buy one.

Will the Joy Xtra allow you to use all the functions of design space, for example, offset, score, slice? I was hoping the Xtra would work like a mini Explorer.

I have the joy, but it abruptly quit working. I have a lot of supplies and mats. If I purchase the extra, will I be able to use the smart materials that I already purchased. Hate to have it go to waste. (I will donate it, of course, but I am on limited budget). Thanks in advance for your advice.

Since xtra is big on stickers, will this be able to cut through a laminate over sticker paper? I have issues with explore where it doesnt read and cut with a shiny laminate or shiny paper.
I actually have a tutorial on this! It helps to put scotch tape (the kind with the green label) over the black border
lines so it gets rid of the reflective surface so the machine can better read it.
