My uncle who lived originally in Kasalla moved to Asmera few months ago, Eritrea is the safest place in east africa with rich culture and ancient historical places but unfortunely no development, the resilient and friendly people still keep their head up and face all challenges.

The Eritrean traditional coffee is much better than Macchiato though 😂Asmara is nice city but there are many ancient kingdom cities not far from Asmera city which are part of authentic Eritrean history .Those places were major cities during the Punt -Adulis Axum Empires. The largest Eritrean ancient pre historical archaeological sites close to Asmera are known as Qohaito, Tekhonda’e and Keskse (near Adi keih), at Metera (near senafe)and at Der’a (near Halhal) . The decay, disrepair, and lack of modern structures that you see is the result of sanctions and isolation the country is subjected to for the last two decades. Brother Sly, run away from Eritrea as soon as, your trip days are over. In Africa, our poor and destitute Eritrea, is known as the North Korea of Africa. The people of Eritrea are one of the best people in Africa but the Eritrean regime is one of the worst and ruthless evil regimes ever in history. It is a regime that will lock you in dungeons for more than ten years for holding a Bible meeting with your friends. Keep the good video clips in safe place, and tell the world our pain and suffering as soon as you leave the hell of Africa, known as Eritrea.

As an Eritrean we thank you for visiting our beautiful country people usually give statements about Eritrea without actually going there and seeing how it is but youve been there and seen it all so we hope people can stop calling us the north korea of africa and learn from your experience and actually go there to see the life not just believing what they hear

Who cares on what others call us? Life is very hard, that one man regime is not working, he use excuse to cover his horrendous short comings on Ethiopia, the in, USA… when is the time for us to collectively call him out and get our country back??? 32 years and this is the best we can do? Haven’t we paid dear lives for this??? Wake up

The DPRK comparisons stem from the media blackout in Eritrea. I’m sure any areas where people are malnourished draw these comparisons as well. Of course it isn’t entirely accurate but there are some facets of Eritrean life that are relatable to life in NK.
