Flying the Cessna 700 Citation Longitude from Aspen (KASE) to Denver Centennial (KAPA) in Microsoft Flight Simulator with air traffic controllers online. The plane handles like a drunk trying to fly a kite but I attempt to rotate too early and strike the wing on takeoff. A malfunctioning autopilot then tries to end my life multiple times. Nice sunset though.

Thanks for watching boss. More videos on the way. - Zábava
I can confirm the Longitude flies like 5 manhole covers taped together with Gorilla Tape powered by a rubber band motor.
We should probably let Cessna know about this 😂
This is my favorite aircraft. He is not turning the navigation mode to FMS.
Here is a video I made of leaving KELP in the longitude. Engaged Autopilot after gear up. czcams.com/video/Z2iblzSpzZc/video.html
Ahhahaahhahahaaaa
It's by far the easiest, smoothest plane to fly in the whole sim.
The inside cabin audio had me crying, you should do that more often. Pure gold!
Same here lol 😆
Perfect audio dialogue! 🤣
Proper cracks me up! 🤣🤣
I kept waiting for more that was so perfect I’m literally crying right now
Laughed hard, but the "God bless America" just before was what sent my sides to Mars.
I love the ATC, everyone is so committed to the role play and so professional, really makes the experience of playing the game that much better.
Same, but I do have to say, I enjoyed the weird ATC sessions in FSX a little more.
Simulator, not game.
@@tr-3b39 same thing...
vatsim seems fun but stressful because i'm still learning all the ATC language
A good amount of the ATCs you find there are actually ATC students.
Almost ate shit at departure,
almost ate shit at cruising altitude, almost ate shit at cruising altitude again, almost ate shit at cruising altitude again, almost ate shit at cruising altitude again, almost ate shit at cruising altitude again, almost ate shit at landing, almost ate shit sitting still.
But nobody died, so S-rank on that flight captain. Good job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
For anyone wondering
S-rank / 0 deaths
A-rank / 1-5 deaths
B-rank / 6-25 deaths
C-rank / 26-60 deaths
D-rank / 60-200 deaths
F-rank / 2977-200 deaths
Lets not forget the passengers that shit their pants on departure, in cruising altitude, on arrival and most importantly, the amount of vomit that sprayed all over the place. A well done flight, sir. :D
Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. If you can use the aircraft again afterward, it's a great landing.
Like they say, "any landing you can walk away from is a good one" lol
😆😆😆
It’s cool to see an ATC that actually knows what’s they’re doing really adds that bit of realism, certainly beats just saying “yo fuck it the runway is yours lad” which is my usual go-to clearance
VATSIM is extremely serious about maintaining realism. They will drop a banhammer with no hesitation to any controller who screws around.
@@shadowtheimpure You have to pass a bunch of tedious tests and then go through training and stuff, so all the controllers are purely committed to the bit.
@@kevo31415 i wonder if they would pass as real atc if they gotta do tests
I read that in a Yorkshire accent for some reason.
Late to the party but the ASE tower controller and the Approach/Departure controller are IRL controllers.
HATS OFF to that man waiting 10-11 minutes on a game freeze. Holy shit. I would have Alt+F4/Reset button long ago.
Some of us are committed to finishing a long haul in FS economy, im not letting 2 hours and 17k just end up in a alt f4
@@Thatnibbles Mad props to you as well, then!
Yeah, I don't think you understand the levels of patience some long-haul players actually have.

The passengers sitting in the back in disbelife as the plane freezes in mid-air. 10 minutes later the plane begins moving again.
The flaps were retracted. That's probably an accurate representation of what a no-flaps takeoff at 9000ft would look like!
The realism of ATC and all the communication makes it extra jarring when someone has computer issues. I imagine a world where everything is just like it is here, except sometimes people will just disappear from existence.
"358 Foxtrot hold for inbound traffic. Disregard, inbound traffic has been consumed by the void clear for takeoff"
Late to the party but the ASE tower controller and the Approach/Departure controller are also IRL controllers enhancing that realism.

That 767 passing by like a ghost ship on the taxiway, proper October spooky.
That cabin audio was hilarious - please do more
Ah I see the problem, you set the autopilot to NASCAR mode.
No NASCAR mode, but there is a Lawndart Landing Mode for the autopilot landing function. Maybe AFP kept bumping that button.

If there’s one thing I learned from MSFS, it’s to never trust Asobo’s autopilot
Yep, never fly a default plane that isn't modded
Defiently, for me, if i enable autopilot it will just descent immedialy. And the thing they call "AI Pilot" (IDK if it is the same thing or not) it just shuts down all engines.
@@user-lk5vo4ce4w and is only available on the kind of airframe that glides like a Phantom 2 stripped of everything from the intakes out, am I right?
At first I also thought that asobo autopilot does not work. But then I figured it out. But of course it is not like modern planes have kill button. It looks like some safety autopilot features are not implemented.
Although I only learned from watching IRL flights on CZcams, I haven't had any issues with autopilot; being able to IFR from gear up to final entirely. I do find it tends to be too aggressive on controls, happily holding 30 degree climbs or rapid attitude changes
5:18 “You can anticipate a lot of turbulence on this departure.”
I brief that to my passengers at the start of every flight. Nothing to do with the weather, I’m just a shit pilot.
That awkward moment when you realize you're the shittiest of shit pilots when you have to brief the passengers about turbulence before taxi.
Then you have to attempt a takeoff without wingtips because you lost them to wing strikes during taxi.
But the takeoff roll has the plane leaning hard left because you blew a tire during taxi from being a bit too hard on the brakes.
The rest of the flight is a bit bumpy, too. By the time you're on short final all of your passengers have migraines and sore necks.
But it's all good. That blown tire caused a crash on touchdown.
There were no survivors. No survivors = no reports/complaints.
AAR:
1) Successful takeoff.
2) Successfully made it to target airport.
3) No passenger complaints.
Score: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I know you don't get anywhere near the views on these MSFS2020 VATSIM videos as you do others but please keep doing them, they're just a fun watch and interesting to see the shenanigans that still somehow occur.
The panicking passengers is a nice touch lool 😭😭😂😂😂 Definitely do more! Lol
On your left hand side below there’s a screen with three nav options turn then all to gps then turn NAV on next to autopilot and it should follow the flight path 👍
yeah FMS is just doing exactly what he told it to do..
Also for speed set SPD to MAN and not FMS if you're not using FMS. Click the button on the throttle for auto throttle...
I drive by the Centennial airport a lot so it was pretty cool to see you land there. We can get crazy wind gusts in the area so you’re welcome for that.
If you commute during rush hour, I bet you spend 45 minutes right by KAPA stuck in DTC gridlock.
"Mooooom?"
"YeS?"
That escalated quickly...
Its a shame you can't save a flight to load up & replay afterwards, that way you'd be able to see how close you got to hitting the wing on take-off.
I think there's a third-party software that can do it, I know Swiss001 does something like that. I can never tell if he's in MSFS or Xplane when he does it though.
IIRC, this feature is coming soon. For now, there's at least one third-party tool to do this.
He hit, no question about it. You can see as the plane rolls to right that the rate of roll suddenly changes instantly which can only happen if he hit the ground with the wing.
The ATC/aircraft banter is what seals the deal for me on these vids. Some of the best background content to listen to while doing other things.
Ah, I remember the first flight I did in the Longitude. It was when the sim just came out. It was a milk run from Vancouver International to Calgary International. 30 miles out from the airport, fuel ran out (I doublechecked takeoff amount beforehand, 75% full) and I ended up landing it on a secondary highway. Made for a memorable first experience.
Gosh, that thing handles like a flying saucer.
"As AirForceProud95 took off, he unintelligibly stalled and wing-struck on takeoff. In a desperate attempt to recover, he turned on autopilot, which veered left and took off his left wing, which caused the plane to crash shortly after and kill everyone inside. AirForceProud95's final words were...

*"IT'S MY FIRST DAY!"*
Worst. TheFlightChannel. Video. Ever.
Make sure you have about 5% deadzone on your yoke x and y axis. That usually solves the possessed demon autopilot.
I really like the graphics, Asspan looks great!
It’s so weird to see how accurate it looks as you’re coming into Centennial. I was working down by there yesterday and my work office is very nearby too.
They were running departures and arrivals through 17L yesterday…
Some airports are hand crafted... Others.. Rough guesses from satellite imagery. That said, the two Intl airports near me are reasonable... The ones out in the country... They are just flat spots on a bumpy blue and green marble.
I plane spot regularly at Centennial and I concur! They did pretty amazing job on it!
@@Discodave42 The parking lot by the batting cages immediately northeast of the departure end of 35R are the perfect place to just pull over and watch. Especially when they're landing 17L.
Absolutely love the Vatsim vids bro, keep em coming
It's not a perfect solution to everything Asobo missed, but you really need to give Dakfly's Longitude Flight Dynamics mod and the Working Title G3000 a go. Definitely improves stock longitude by a mile.
Maybe wait for the Longitude mod to get an update for SU6, tho.
Buying the MSFS Premium Deluxe was a mistake.
@@TawichVirangkur Nahhhh. I fly exlusively in the G3000/G5000 via the TBM/Longitude. Things can get quirky sometimes, but mods make it workable.
Even in the sim, good pilots work well under pressure.
The word “unflyable” is much overused in MSFS but the default Longitude definitely earns that designation. Without Dakfly’s mod I wouldn’t touch the Longitude.
Love the CU shirt you're rockin. That was a crazy flight.
I love these Vatsim videos, keep them coming!
lol love the little sound bits.... right on...fun vid...the blacked out plane crossing ya lol..thx .. made my day.
Love the "DEATH BUTTON" reference - always entertaining watching you fly!!!

Longitude is my favorite plane to fly. Beautiful jet.
The beginning of that landing reminded me of the opening scenes out of top gun, watching the runway at night just swing wildly back and forth in front of you, good recovery tho
Love your channel you got me back into aviation and signed up for a ground school and revamped a dream of aviation again so thank you p.s. I got me a butter t shirt for plane spotting
Thanks for the video, very entertaining as always! :)
I have a small request: Could you do VATSIM flights in different countries around the world? Would be fun to see you (perhaps) struggle with local rules and practices and the hilarities that might ensue :)
6:21 "strike the wing on takeoff" GOT ME rolliing!!!!!
That damn thing is a beast to fly
I have nothing to say here so I'll just say this...
Wheeeeeeeekeee
AirForceProud95 can’t handle the wake of a Cessna. Cessna turbulence strikes again as usual
It's comforting to know that the pilots can just hit the DIE button whenever they want.
Wow do all aircraft have similar issues with autopilot being engaged? That was insane lol
I have no issues with my autopilot but a friend of mine uses the exact same steps as me and he can't get it to work.
It's an issue in the Asobo flight plan system. Basically the plane wants to go back to either the very first waypoint or to the first waypoint of the STAR. Sometimes it works, wayyy too often it doesn't. At least the A32NX and all aircraft compatible with the WT G1000NXi mod should not have this issue anymore
It's not an MSFS flight until the AP tries to auger you in at least once.
Don’t use an asobo aircraft without using an improvement mod. I’ve never had this happen.
I fly TBM and prop Cessna, no AP issues here.
Lmao at the poor peeps onboard @ 6:21!
I’d be scared for my life too!
Love the videos man!
Autopilot test 1: Well that didn't work
Test 2: Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice.....god dammit

Test 4: Well.....fourth times the charm?
Test 5: Do you love me?
Pause
Test 6: SURPRISE! Dammit still?
"may or may not have wiped"
i died so hard LMAO
I love the VATSIM content.. I always wanted to "play it" but I'm to scared because it seems so much professional and I might fck it up hahahaha
(The cabin audio made me laugh so hard)
Don't be, you will fuck it up though lol We all do! Go to a smaller session with a few planes and straight up tell them it's your first flight, and they all seem to help out. Good community on vatsim
There's real life pilots who fck it up
these vids are insane
CZcams algorithm landed me here and I was thoroughly entertained. The simulators these days are so so good!
Love the video and love the plane
Wonderful man
I noticed you have glasses. It's the first time I've seen them. They look nice!
Great job. Quality video
Love it when you're contact real life ATC, because it makes the experience more immersive. And now, you can't tell me these aren't real air traffic controllers. They are way too good to not be.
Most of them are, but not everyone
@@ichat7607 most of them are not real life ATC
Most aren’t. You’ll find some are, they’ll use it to practice or train, but most are hobbyists.
VATSIM uses real life ATC procedures and is very serious about professionalism for both the pilots and controllers. It takes quite a bit of training to become a VATSIM controller. So while they aren't real controllers, they behave as if they are.
Love the drama in this episode !
Daddy with glasses...ooof
This was great, thank you!
Love that Buffs Hoodie... ps I can see my house from here @11:02!
(you'll see) had me rolling from the beginning!
My DPE on my instrument checkride showed me the VOR Echo approach into aspen and asked me questions about it, definitely a crazy approach.
Now, I might be slightly offended that in the subtitles of the greeting, you called us "MySpace" instead of youtube... I'm not THAT old, just so you know ;)
But seriously, love your little jokes with changing subtitles to something else every now and then. Makes me always pay full attention to them, so I don't miss out on anything xD
Dang this was a cool video to watch as I am working to get my pilots license and am doing it out of Aspen! Anyways love the videos especially the funny moments, keep up the good work!
these are great videos
Your comment about entering a spontaneous barrel-roll kicked an old memory of mine back to the surface. I remember owning a copy of MSFS '02 way back. Came with a Learjet of some sort. I had to roll the trim all the way forward on the elevators because otherwise the damn thing would stall itself on takeoff or try to do a loop-de-loop in flight. If I didn't keep the yoke pushed forward, then it would regularly just nose-up and start climbing. Never did that with the Cessna model or the 737, just the Learjet. Probably was doing something wrong 'cause well... 18-year-old at the time.
You say calm I say typical winds in Colorado. Love to see you try and back to Aspen or even into Eagle County Reginal Airport, trying to deal with the wind as you land between mountains.
Laughed oretty hard there bud thanks
Planes like these have to be either an absolute blast, or sucky to fly. They just seem so slick and sporty; you get a little more to them than your typical GA plane, but they're not the big chunky boys of the big commercial jets. I'd love to know what they're like.
I love the Longitude; the glass cockpit sells it for me.
6:02 Nearly choked on my burger, passangers reaction :DDDDDDDDDDD god I love this guy
The thing that always amazes me about these videos is the fact that everyone seems to know what they're doing (with some exceptions of course). I don't know how people play this game and somehow know what all the callouts are. I can understand pilots (like airforceproud, right?) but I doubt everyone who plays is an expert in flight terminology.
Bro the cabin sounds have my lmfao xD
Nice one, landing was solid given the circumstances, only thing I can think of is transponder set to standby once on the ground. I'm pretty sure that's standard.
The frozen on final probably should have waited until landing and taxi to open that Coors Light
Damn!! U r skilled to hand fly that thing..
You should really try the Working Title G3000 and the Longitude improvement mod. Makes this jet amazing.
Weird that you've had issues with the Longitude autopilot; that's my go-to jet in MSFS, and the autopilot works fine for me.
I've been looking at playing flight sim but I just don't have the time, sadly
Great video as always! Do you fly RC planes or drones? some of the RC models I have seen here on CZcams are SICK!!
Hahahah dude something isn't right with your setup. Fantastic content.
I love how fast this channel grew.
Jesus that autopilot was insane lol XD Love the video as always!! Keep it up!!!

Heyyyyy I did all my flight training at KAPA. Great place to learn how to fly.
Dude you fly the plane like I fly the shopping cart when there is a big sale at costco good lord man. And by the way the hockey puck brownies: Unbelievable. I used to be able to do 40 pushups.
My favorite Del Taco is just outside of the airport you're landing at. Also had a fun collision there recently where one of the planes crashed into the nearby state park.. Which also caught fire last year. Been a chaotic area. :D
I KNEW autopilot #6 was coming, and it still got me
That taxiing reminds me of driving in the middle of the night in EXTRA DENSE fog.. so frightening at times.
That was an awesome video dude!! You should either into or out of Signature KEFD because I live here and you do what the viewers want right xD jk jk but dope content 👌
Gotta love that in-cabin sound.
Also, gotta love VAT-SIM, the realism is insane!
Edit: Does MSFS simulate emergency? If not (or if it does), what would VAT-SIM ATC do if you’d simulate engine failure or some other reason for a crash?
They would handle it like as if it was real. Priority, Clearing airspace(s) for you and getting you to the nearest (or your chosen) airport. You, as the pilot, have to know how to communicate and handle such emergencies.
@@F0xAlpha actually VATSIM regs say that emergencies don't get priority to keep things fair for other players. "No flight may declare itself to have priority over another. Pilots are permitted to declare in-flight emergencies only when under air traffic control. If, for any reason, air traffic control requests the pilot to terminate the emergency, then the pilot must do so IMMEDIATELY or disconnect from the network."
