    Subscribed! I've watched a fair few reviews for this game already, then came across this one which is easily the most informative. I had already pre-ordered the game, but it's reassuring to have seen such a great review. Many of the mainstream review sites (I'll mention no names) have barely skimmed over many details, and I'm drifting further from them now. Thanks for this, I'll be sure to check out your reviews first in future.

      I have to agree. I mean if the game is easy, how is that a negative? It's like every JRPG they review is expected to have Dark Souls difficulty.

      Scores don't determine how good a review is, there is reviews that give good scores to critically claimed games but still suck because they cover very little or do a bad job explaining why the game is good.

      E1ite Yoshi I agree. I actually found the first Ni No Kuni really frustrating because of the amount of grinding that was needed..It got to the point where I spent ages leveling up by attacking Toko's (familiars that give you a tone of xp) and powered through the game on level eighty or something so I could just enjoy the story.

    • @id104335409
      @id104335409 Před 6 lety +2

      hahaha, no it doesn't. Every type of regime ever had that mentality. It is the concept of uniting everyone under one rule. Every king or emperor on the planet had the same goal. To say that communism is the root of all evil is just brainwash propaganda. You picked that up at some point in your life. Many people have, after the fall of the communistic regime. It is the way of the winners to discredit the losers, by showing their worst sides and then add some crazy shit on top of that. You know - the winner gets to write the history. Capitalists are responsible for just as many atrocities as any other, we just don't talk about it. There is nothing wrong with communism, capitalism, fascism, tyranny or any regime. The problem is in the humans - give them power and they do unspeakable things.
      Like the do-good prince Evan here. I have been slicing and dicing all types of free roaming monsters in the name of Good. But I noticed right away that the Pirates on our side are all good guys, while the Bandits that we are killing are all bad guys... because they rob people.

    • @alsopsarchive5384
      @alsopsarchive5384 Před 6 lety +2

      I got about halfway through WoFF and gave up unfortunately. Really tried to like it. I also tried to play as the non-chibi versions as much as possible. But I hated that transitioning back and forth was an integral mechanic to the game. Really took me out of the experience.

    • @jhemp
      @jhemp Před 6 lety

      Alsop's Gaming I guess there's a limit to what we can accept and we have different limits, while I honestly think Chibi style stuff looks dumb, if I really try its easy enough to get passed. I just fail to see a reason to make "cute" things in what should be a more adult game. WoFF was aimed at younger people so I guess I can get it on that side, and I get that the sprites are probably easier to animate and produce, but real praise comes when you do difficult things and do them well. So I'm with you on not liking it, but I doubt it'll detract from my experience too greatly.

      You have no idea how much I don't need to buy this game yet but I'll buy it when it's like 30 dollars:
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Games I've started but need to continue AND want to continue/finish (out of pleasure or ocd)
      Persona 5 (beat Egypt palace boss)
      Gravity Rush 2 (beat the tutorial and I'm at the part where it opens up to a city)
      The Last of Us Remastered (I believe I left the one gay guy part just recently in the game)
      The Evil Within (I was around halfway done but re-bought on pc along with 2 so I'm at the level with the chainsaw man)
      Resident Evil Revelations 1
      Reigns (no idea since the nature of the game)
      The Black Watchman (finished 6 levels or chapters or whatever)
      Doom (hell gate opened and I did the level where you have to keep going up for a shit ton of time)
      Bayonetta (around the point where you flashback and fight a boss fight)
      The Banner Saga 2 (barely started)
      DreadOut (barely past the pig)
      Diluvion (need to go back a ways so that I can build up to stronger ships and so forth so I can beat the final boss, iffy if I want to do this but ocd)
      Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide 1 (need to beat the boss)
      80 Days (finish my first playthrough, either win or lose)
      Blue Estate (level after the first boss)
      Resi 6 (barely into it)
      LISA (pretty early into it and recruited a few people so far)
      Stardew Valley (I think I have to restart it)
      Oceanhorn (beat the first boss)
      Hatoful Boyfriend (Joe Biden, or Biden Joe, needs to date some pigeons and learn about the world)
      Costume Quest 2 (early in it)
      Chroma Squad (need to try another playthrough to try another branching path, ideally motorcycle one)
      DMC 4 (beat the first boss like 2 years ago and stopped)
      Serious Sam BFE (probably around halfway through)
      Valkyria Chronicles (did some grinding but I'm only a few levels in past the tutorial)
      Dishonored (stopped after sewer level pretty much)
      Castlevania Lords of Shadow 1 (beat first boss)
      Dead Space (like a half hour in)
      Battleblock Theater (probably halfway through)
      Alien Isolation (not sure I ever have the alien attacking me actively yet)
      Darksiders 1 (was on first spider boss)
      Witcher 3 (did this twice since had on ps4 then gog pc but I pretty much finished bloody baron on both and a good amount of side quests and stuff)
      Dead in Bermuda (if it didn't save my progress I"m not bothering with it but I had fun with it and was decently in, though nowhere close to finishing)
      SteamWorld Dig (no idea but it's fun)
      I Expect You To Die (all vr games are psvr since that's what I have now. Anyway I beat 2 levels and I'm on sinking escape pod level and I'm trying to figure it out myself)
      Superhot VR (I think I'm decently into it, not sure)
      Mortal Blitz (beat firstish level, vr)
      Megaton Rainfall (a few levels in, in vr of course)
      Thumper (beat the first real boss, vr is super good in it)
      Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 1
      Citizens of Earth (3rd of the way through maybe? Did a little more grinding than I probably should have though)
      God Eater: Ressurection (beat a few levels lol)
      Wolfenstein: The New Order (when you have to sneak into the place after family takes you there)
      Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime (early on)
      Day of the Tentacle Remastered (fashion show stuff)
      Skulls of the Shogun (barely started)
      Stories: The Path of Destinies (fairly into it)
      Styx: Master of Shadows (a few levels in)
      Disgaea 5 (I did the story but want to do post game and rest of dlc since I have it all)
      Final Fantasy 15 (replay for all the new content)
      Lucius (going around at night)
      Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (in the space sections)
      Dementium II HD (I'm outside or something)
      Borderlands 2 (a few bosses in)
      Mytheon (beat Hephaestus I think)
      Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition (beat first boss I think)
      Not a Hero (beat a few levels)
      Those are ps4 or pc, but as far as old games I need to go back to:
      Nier (ps3), Puppeteer (ps3), Folklore (ps3), and Yakuza 5 (ps3)
      I'll probably play yakuza 5 soon to prepare for yakuza 6, will have to restart since I lost the save that was decently into haruka's plot.
To be fair though, because the world is properly connected I didn't use fast travel for most the game because I wanted to learn and master the games layout since it was the only thing I wish P4 did that was missing. So basically, if I wanted to go somewhere instead if the 10 seconds to choose and jump immediately, I leave home, run down the alley, go to the train station, jump on the train, go downtown, and yeahh lol.
    @angramainyu6429 Před 6 lety +27
    I really like you guys but even though no one should be safe from valid criticism. So even if I get slapped by angry fans, here goes:
    How in the world did you see an 9.5 in Ni nu Kuni 2. It is, graphics and cuteness aside, a slightly above average JRPG. It suffers from many shortcomings in:
    -Voice acting ( only very few scenes are VA)
    -story arcs (Hydropolis is seriously rushed)
    -character development (6 characters but only 2 seem to make some progress 2/3s into the game)
    -difficulty (feels too easy. you have to fall behind in levels to make the game a challenge)
    Then there are rushed aspects. The world map looks nothing as the first location you start in. The fields are vibrant and full of foliage and things to look at. Later regions are way closer to the original PS3 game.
    Many systems, like the improvement of gear, are not needed to progress through the game. (but that could be fixed with more difficulty options)
    It feels like a very shallow game at times. It's cute, it makes you smile and it is fun. Yes. Absolutely a positive score. But 9.5?! NEAR PERFECT?! How do you even....what?!
    • @tyototriumphs7861
      @tyototriumphs7861 Před 5 lety +3
      I hold your opinion in high regard, and you're seemingly one of the few that realizes how severely lacking certain aspects of this game are. For me, its a 6.5/10. When combat isn't mindlessly easy, the story misses so many beats for me. The main cast is very one note, especially characters like Batu that are just kinda.......there.....Nothing about the story was unique and honestly I'm really bothered by the high praise when this game borders on average. This game is, simply put, a decent game. Its well put together, and has good moments, but it feels empty despite how full of life it appears to be at the start. If I had the point out my favorite part, I'd probably say that Zip's redemption arc and how much he means to Bracken was the only moment where I felt something.
    Metacritic is at 85 for this game right now, so people seem to be positive to very positive in this case.
    Loved the first game, but for some reason never finished it (got like 30 hours in, I believe).
    The difficulty seems to be a point of discussion, as the game seems a bit on the easier side.
    To me, that aint a huge deal as long as it plays well, and it seems like it does.
      Challenging combat is the most important thing in a JRPG. Without it, all other systems are unnecessary, since there is no reason to power up your character.
      Let's hope the combat is at least enjoyable; otherwise the only draw of this game is its narrative.
