As many shows as Whitechapel plays, the partying I'm sure Phil Bozeman does, it really is incredible how healthy his voice sounds over the years. Doing such deep, raw, guttural and low screaming he keeps it healthy and sounding sick. One of the most brutal and studio sound alike vocalist in metal today. Phil fucking Bozeman for president. The Saw is The Law! \m/
+Tanner Fry Phil actually is a pretty laid back guy. He isn't really the kind of guy to go get shit faced drunk and party his ass off. He's really down to earth and one of the nicest guys I've ever met.
+Tanner Fry When you scream you aren't supposed to strain yourself and blow your throat out. If you're doing that, then you are doing it wrong. I've screamed for 4 hours straight and was perfectly fine, I had two bottles of water, that's it. Like 4killerCurtis said, just learn your range and you'll be fine (also learn the actual technique, don't just go "screaming for the fences"). If you know what you're doing then it's not difficult to scream everyday. The problem is a lot of people don't know what they're doing, even some artists. This happened to me in the beginning and I lost my voice and fucked up my throat every time until I figured out what I was doing wrong. Now, with that said, I don't want to take anything away from Phil. He has more than just technique; he has raw talent, and that is rare. Also, like AJ Alonzo said, Phil is really chill, not a big party guy...so he gets his rest.

I couldn't really find a frame where it's too visible but does anyone know what brand those hats are (or where to get them) that the guy at the bottom left for the first 17 seconds of the video is wearing? The hat is black and has white emblem with a black "x" on it and the brim is black and white stripes. I saw them being sold at warped tour and mayhem fest but I could never find the dude selling them.

It's hard to say! B: is probably the most challenging. B has some very fast verses and combines some high screams with Phil's low gutturals, so it will take a lot of skill to get that down!
A: has a few fast verses but the buildup really makes that song fun and gives it a lot of power.
C: Only my opinion, its a good Song, I just feel like it doesn't hit as hard as the others.
I think the Saw is the Law or Our Endless War are better songs if you're looking to display a range of vocal talent and dynamics. It's your call though bro!

The only thing i dont like about Whitechapel like 4th? album and onward were how his vocals are not as brutal as they were before. Like they still are but personally it sounded harsher in the older albums

His names Phil Bozeman. He is considered one of the best current vocalists in the metal community. As far as anyone's concerned he can do whatever the fuck he wants lol. Check out his studio recordings, cupping or no cupping, the man is a beast.
the cupping is a common technique among metal vocalists, and other such genres, used to increase the low end punch in the Mic output. it's called the proximity effect. look it up
