I watched another documentary only a few days ago, on this very subject. This Jewish chap discovered people with Jewish /Hebrew habits living in northern India, northern Africa, and south-east Asia. It was quite interesting, and very believable.
There are!!! A really good book you can read: The African Origins of Modern Judaism. Has a whole chapter which speaks of the Jews of India!!!
There are two lost tribes. One was assigned to safe guard the Ark, after it was decided that it should be kept in hiding; there's no trace of this tribe.
The other headed towards East and settled in Khorasan, presently Afghanistan. This tribe converted to Islam enmass about 1400 years ago.

When the new covenant came into effect immediately after Jesus Christ died, that was the end of the old testament/or covenant. So if there is anybody keeping the arck of covenant is keeping it in vain. We now have the new covenant as current order of of God.
