I'm checking out as many rarely performed, rarely recorded or completely unknown piano, symphonic and chamber works as I can find!. I have found scores of composers and music I never would have guessed existed. This is a continuing eye-opening and fun experience, and don't think I don't appreciate all those contributors out there for putting this music on You Tube!

Please let us know which ones stand out. The D'Albert .MacDowell 2nd was famous a few decades ago .Litollf and Scharwenka #4 Moscheles #3 not sure # for him.Czerny wrote a very strong piano concerto .I was amazed when I heard it . Sauer wrote 2 and one was good can't remember. I heard a Martucci concerto on San Francisco radio and never forgot but now that Im more mature it seems less special. I dont like any of Hummel's concerti. Kalkbrenner ? Thalberg 's preludes will surprise you real depth not like the opera fantasies !

@@MrInterestingthingsThalberg is my favourite composer! I love his fantaisies on operas by Bellini. Check out Kalinnikov - his symphony no 1 is sublime and no. 2 is stunning as well. I really wish these were played in concert halls around the world. They are such gems and very moving. I can't understand why orchestras etc play the same things from the same composers all the time. I'd go a lot more for breadth of repertoire. Oh I almost forgot! Amy Beach piano concerto no. 1 is spectacular and full of romance. Stunning stunning stunning! ❤❤❤❤❤

Banowetz really has what it takes takes as does Stankowsky ! Oscar Levant buried this music .Hofmann actually made me think it was great music . It is music of purpose evocative of journey and struggle . The experience of Rubinstein in it must have been incredible .
