I hope you enjoy our complete history of World War One - 'the war to end all wars'. This series - produced in 2015 - has been re-edited and re-released in 2022, as previous versions were age-restricted by CZcams (presumably because human remains were visible in a few photographs - though always in a clearly historical, non-sensationalist context. The precise reason is never given by CZcams. For those interested in what an 18+ history video looks like, you can watch the previous version here: czcams.com/video/GG0LY8OLBG8/video.html). Unpredictable decisions by CZcams can make life quite uncertain for military history creators, which is why we are so grateful to all our supporters at Patreon - please consider joining their ranks! www.patreon.com/EpicHistoryTV

I don`t find it fantastic at all. It doesn't consider so many details we already know. Gerry Docherty & Jim Macgregors view on this war is quite the opposite of this version here. As long as the old story is told, nothing will change. The told story is: Germany starts the war. But it isn't that easy! Germany's not an actor, it is reacting. You might read a lot of books and listen to many historians, but to get a close look on historic truths, you must also read the inconveniant historians and and one must ask oneself whether these alternative views are not plausible. Without learning facts from books like "Hidden history", "Prolonging the agony" and "Wiederkehr der Hasardeure" (transl. return of the hasardeurs), you cannot break up encrusted victors' history and make the truths visible. The only way to prevent history from repeating is to understand the mechanisms that led to mobilisation and declaration of war. The back story is the linchpin.

Unfortunately this includes some very distorted propaganda. The Lusitania was carrying munitions and it's sank because the munition blew up.
In 1980 the admiralty warned off salvage crews because there was still live ammunitions on the wreck.
The ship sank in 15 minutes very close to land because while there was a small entry hole for the torpedo there was a very large one on the other side where the munitions exploded. Churchill was part of orchestrating this deception.

One minor suggestion (actually major in Serbia which was never able to recover from the losses in the Great War) - after the offensive in Northern Greece, led by Serbian troops, the allies didn't stop as your animation shows. Serbs rather continued, as their homes were really nearby (a couple of days march) and they liberated all the territory up to Italy.
Again, compared to the entire war bring animated, this isn't anything big.

Greek soldiers said(when Serbian soldiers recovered and together with them went back to Salonica front) that the march of the Serbian army was faster than the pace of their horses, thats how much they loved their country and were willing to sacrifice in order to reclaim whats theirs.

@@jovankaravezic6695 Do not forget that the Serb army were quasi-destroyed after 1915, only 120 000 soldiers escaped on 400 000, French mainly equiped and led them (like the famous Franchet d'Esperey). The ferocity of serbians warriors with the French tactics and support were perfect.

Great content! I would love such videos about each of the countries of the world with focus also on economics, national identity, things that make that country unique. Would help a lot in introducing kids to history and unknown teritories. Best of wishes!.

I have studied WW2 ad nauseam. Not taking anything from those brave men and women of that war. But I have been studying WW1 a little over a year now. The intricacies of this wars start is fascinating. And the lessons learned in this war trickled into WW2 and modern warfare. Epic history did a phenomenal job breaking down this epic yet tragic war and the implications it has had on our lives. Thank you Epic History.

ALL we have been told about our World wars is pure lies. Watch documentaries like "Adolf Hitler The Greatest Story Never Told" from 2013 & "New World Order: Communism by Backdoor" from 2014 and "Europa The Last Battle" from 2017 and you realize we have been totally fooled by our history the last 120 years...Everything we have learned is upside down..

Congratulations on producing one of THE greatest documentaries about the First World War. Never before have I seen such a clear comprehensive film that manages to cover the entire history of the War across all fronts in a simple straightforward no nonsense manner. This must've taken months of planning and preparation with many drafts and redrafts in order to boil it down to this excellent presentation. It would be great if you could also break it down into 3 or 4 parts that would make it easier to absorb- the current length is a bit daunting! Well done and thanks for this fantastic resource.

Moral of the story: Germany is a beast. It looked like from the start till the end they won most battles and attacks and caused the most damage even though the allies had more troops and basically the whole world on their side. As an Austrian I'm not ashamed to say that Germany carried this fight for us. When I saw The US declared war on Germany I knew it was game over though. I took WW1 in school as it's a huge part of our history, but some things were forgotten so I just wanna thank the people who made this incredible film for making it so detailed and visually amazing :)

Seeing how many deaths and casualties WWI caused, you'd think men would never make the same mistake again. But not only WWII took place, we're currently on the verge of yet another world war, as if we learnt nothing from our past mistakes. Human idiocy and greed is indeed inveterate.
