As a youn 16 year old i sang this song at the oregon outdoor school program.. i was a cabin leader at that piont so great memories with the 6th graders..
Had a dream last night that I was at a supermarket and the song being played over their music system was this one. Except I thought the lyrics were, "arvay do arvay do arvay , he whistled and he sang as he played his song, and he won the heart of a lady." I haven't heard this song since the sixties. Not sure if it's this version that was often played on the radio, probably "The Seekers" version as I was in Australia at the time. In any case it's a nice song and this is a great version. Thanks.

Yes. Our English teacher was also a musician. Called The Hall Brothers. Mr hall would get out his guitar and sing this for us
