- This physics video tutorial explains how to use the resistor color code chart to determine the value of the resistance of a resistor in an electric circuit. It explains how to use the chart to find the first two digits, the multiplier and the tolerance level which can be used to determine the range in which the true resistance lies in. This review tutorial also contains a few examples and practice problems for you to learn the concept in addition to converting resistance values from ohms to kiloohms and megaohms.

I read my text book multiple times and still couldn't figure it out. I watched your video and in less than 2 minutes, it actually makes sense. Thanks buddy.
The video is 10 minutes longer brother
Fucking same

Fucking true!
Almost 3 years ago when I started watching this channel's tutorial, I was a Civil Engineering student back then, but sadly I failed one of my subjects in which led me to being a shiftee for another course which is electronics, I did not expect to stumble on this channel again for this tutorial and Im glad😂
5 years later still making an impact! thank you for the knowledge my friend
6 years now this guy is literally saving my life hahaha
Oh my gosh
You are the best
I was struggling with this concept. Thank you so very much
So many people has a problem in understanding the conversion of for example like you nicely explained it, converting from kilo ohms to mega ohms. Well done
Good video explaining how to read resistor values and tolerances from the color code. Thank you !
Am so so happy right now. It's been two hours I have been on one quest, but after this video I got it right. Thank you so much
helpful! you just helped me on my assignment! thx!
Thank you so much! it was explained very clear, only took a few minutes for me to understand fully
Thank you so much for this video. I understood absolutely nothing at school. But this is so easy to understand now! ❤
59 years ago I was a freshman at Don Bosco in Boston and in the electronics course, We went through the color code in detail and I still remember the drill.
0.Black
1. Brown
2. Red
3 Org
4. Yel
5 Grn
6. Blu
7 Vio
8. Gry
9. Wht
A few years later i was in school at Ft Monmouth where I was taught this politically incorrect ditty to lock it in -
0. Bad
1. Boys
2. Rape
3. Our
4. Young
5. Girls
6. But
7. Violet
8. Gives
9. Willingly
As politically incorrect as it is it sure as hell works.
Negative vibe xD
What about this BB ROY OF GREAT BRITAIN had VERY GOOD WIFE and GREAT SON CHARLES
I hope it helps someone:)

Bad boys, would be conservative boys these days.
I have an assignment in the morning with this. So glad I found this.
Thanks buddy this was accurate and super easy to understand 😊
actually i was looking for it yet....and i searched it...and youtube showed me this...
thanks a lot from 🇧🇩🇧🇩 bangladesh 🥰💝
thank you for demonstrating facts about how a risistor works and the ohm value of each color. its still really confuing for me to fully understand
Helped me during studying for a test lol thanks
that's exceptional
This has helped me a lot with my gcse thanks a lot
I really regret having "electronics" as an elective.
Nah,that's alright. Actually at first it will be just hard as hell but the time you master that,it'll be very useful.Science is a pain-in-the-ass steady effort, but it can beat fantasy
This was great, I've been looking for "who invented wire precision resistor?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Henucas Panrooklyn Equalizer - (just google it )?
It is a good exclusive product for discovering how to repair electronic devices like a pro without the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my work buddy got great results with it.
Appreciate video content! Excuse me for butting in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you tried - Runayslarn Survival Manifestation (search on google)? It is a smashing exclusive product for discovering how to repair your electronic items without the headache. Ive heard some super things about it and my friend Sam got great success with it.
we r forced to study this and we r still grade 8
I really regret having a major that requires it but too late now
This helped me with my assignment. Thanks a bunch!
You make it so easy to understand. thanks a lot! :-)
Thanks for your good explanation, it could really help me to understand better👍🏻
ty so much that part with the multiplier, Plus and Minus the tolerance always got me you explained it so well ty again
You never let me fail... Thank you!
Within the first two minutes I got what I needed tysm
I didn't watch it for a test or school but out of curiosity, I am glad to know how it actually works, I'd use and app to calculate the ohms of the resistors I use.
This was really helpful. Thank you!
Honestly speaking, brilliant!
Thank you so much ,lik i knew nothing until i watched this tutorial
it helped me I'll let you know if I pass the quiz :')
Did you?

I learned more here than my modules I literally read mg modules more than 5 times and I still couldn't understand a thing luckily I saw thia Video and it helps me a lot
ITS ALWAYS EASY WHEN IT COMES TO U AAAA THANK U SO MUCHH I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND A THING WHEN MY TEACHER EXPLAINED THIS TO ME LOL
2 minutes in and i understood the whole thing! Nicee

Had a lab. Wanted to be ready. Thank you
Thanks, that is my first step.😊
Very interesting and good to watch
You know EVERYTHING! 🔥
Superb explained. ❤
I've read my text book plus Examples but I was still confused even when my teachers teach me I'm sure I've heard them in concentration but it makes it so bored 😌
After listing this video for 2 min I understood easily thank you lol 😎
Thank you my instructor just didn’t teach us this then gave us a worksheet on it
Thank you for this video i learned of that

your also a physics teacher my guy?? damn I thought you were just a math teachers, but thank you for helping me in my math subject when I was at JHS and SHS now I am a college engineering student thank you so much
Omg you are a life saver tysm!!❤️
Very well explained
2 minutes and better than teacher in school
Super. You helped a lot thanks
thank you our teacher only gave us output without explaining anything
Thanks.
I have always sucked at math and being slightly dyslexic doesn't help. I really struggled with binary/hex when I was A+Certified wen the dinosaurs roamed the Earth, but you made it easy to understand. I'm 61 an have been a auto tech most of my life. I was fixing ECM issues back when there was no internet and I had to go to he library to get resistance values for sensors. It was around $40k for 'Alldata' system, and I couldn't afford that, so I had to make due. Most private shops would turn ECM issues away and just send them to the dealer.
I am semi retired and live off grid, so I do stupid things like switch an inverter on without disconnecting a generator first. That is something transfer switch would handle, but I took me blowing 2 inverters to find out I can't trust myself and I get in too much of a hurry sometime. I am getting good at diagnosing circuit boards and am waiting for MOFSET's to repair both inverters. I know there are MOFSET drivers as well and will cross that bridge when I get to it. That will be soon. I hope he blown MOFSET's acted like a fuse before it got to the drivers. I am familiar with software/hardware drivers, but IC hardware drivers are a mystery to me right now.
When you feed out of phase power into a circuit with a generator, the inverter will lose every time and fuses are useless because the 'alien' power is coming in reverse, and it happens before you can say "oh shit", and you cannot react fast enough to avoid damage. It appears that MOFSET's will asplode very quickly...But I have also had MOFSET's melt in small inverters for no apparent reason other than them being cheapo inverters that fail if the input voltage gets too low too many times and heat up.
THer is a protection circut tha is thhere and souns an alarm, but I am always sucking my batteries down to 10 VDC in tthe winter, because I'm too lazy to get out in the -0° and fire a generator

Nice video. Subscribed
Your lesson is well understold
Thanks so much the vid helped me
Bruh how can you tell us to do the example and then teach us something new when I’m tryna mark it🙈
Thanks... really helped alot
The man that knows everything
Helpful !!!
you saved my life
This helps alot
The problem isn't figuring out the value from the color codes, it's determining the colors of the bands themselves for those blue metal film resistors. all the colors get washed out/distorted.
Best teacher 👍
Thank you ❤
Thank you! 🙌🏻
Thank you so much!!!
Resistor Color Code Chart Tutorial Review, very good.We are china resistor driecty factory but we can't use video explan it so good.
Useful ❤.thank u
I learned a lot☺️
Thank you so much bro I just aced every quiz cause your quiz run down
Thank you soooo much!
excellent class😍😍🥰
Thank you so much
which way would you read it from?
left to right?.
then which side is left!
What resistor should I get for 2 red and 2 gold ?
As usual u make everything the easiest
Thankyou!!!!
What if I see the colors wrong, since some of these resistors are so tiny. What if I see the blue color as a black color or the other way around. Is there any way that I can check if I am correct before start creating a circut
me: so yellow blue orange and white
this guy: so we have green blue orange and silver
me: damn im color blind asf
Thank you 👍
THANKKKYUUU lul I learn sm here
thank youuu😩😩
Thx my project is done
This really helped me to how to calculate it but the problem is usually the questions are given in my question paper without the table 😕💔 what to do about that?
For 5 bands do i just do the same but with 3 numbers? So a 200 R would be. brown - 1, black - 0, black -0, which would be 100 (bands) then multiply that by 10² (multiplier) then multiply that with × .02 (tolerance). Did i do it right?
Thanks mate
Thank you 😊
according to my text book 5% is the tolerance value and 1.2 kilo ohm is the amount of variation. is this true or false?
Thank you 🙏
Can 2 of the same color be put right next to each other?
nice lecture
Thank u very bro
thank you
knowledge never die
Very useful
