REEBOK FLOATRIDE ENERGY 5 REVIEW - STILL THE BEST VALUE DAILY RUNNING SHOE MODEL? - EDDBUD
An initial review of the new REEBOK FLOATRIDE ENERGY 5, a brand new version of one of the best value daily running shoes on the market.
A shoe fired over to me by REEBOK for review, but they are not paying me to make this video and wont be vetting my video before my valued viewers.
A little softer than last years ENERGY 4 and a very comfortable yet slightly lower stack model, this one is up there in terms of those daily use, lower mileage cruisers for 2023.
I comment on the upper, midsole and outsole after my initial runs.

I don't know, man! The last time I was interested in a Reebok sneaker is 1991, when Dee Brown won the Slam Dunk Contest. Before each dunk, he would pump his Reebok Pump Omni 2's. For someone who can't jump over a crack to save his mother's back, that was good enough for me. Who needs the Nike Zoom Air bags!

I love the design, retro upper, but very nice midsole design. The midsole not too thick like hoka shoes, novablast, and so many mid to long run running shoes, but still very useful for enthusias running. For me it's nicer looking than the previous generation. Very versatile design. I can bring this shoe goes to everywhere

Had every iteration of the energy series. 4 being the best in my opinion. Light and nimble was perfect for me. The extra "stuff" with this one kind of puts me off buying this version. 35% discount from work probably helps lessen that blow haha.

Thanks Edd! US sizes here, I can report that the FRE4 in size 10 was really snug, even without socks (after removing a section of sharp stitching); however I'm swimming in the FRE5 10.5. With socks, and even with the laces tightened enough to cause that aching lack of blood supply feeling, they were still very baggy feeling in the forefoot. Probably good to try these on in person rather than ordering online.

Can you do a comparison analysis between these and the Puma Volocity Nitro 2? Last year, I bought Volocity 1 for $63. I'm about to hit the add to cart box for the Volocity 2 for $74. As a budget friendly " jack of all trades, master of none running sneaker as far as I'm concerned, this shoe is remarkable when it comes to quality and price. A workhorse of a shoe. I know for me, it puts the Nike Pegasus to shreds.

    • @EDDBUD

maybe the v1 midsole already flatten out over the year, because v4 felt so much cushier , even more cushier than my novablast v1.

Hi! Now I'm choosing between 3 pairs of shoes that got big discounts. Supernova 2, Supernova+ and Floatride 5. I'm just a beginner runner and I want to choose my first pair.
After looking at the reviews, it seemed to me that Adidas is aimed at slower but more “plush” running, is that true? Should I, as a beginner, focus on models with stronger shock absorption?
And in general, what do you think about my choice? The price of the models I have chosen is now less than 60 usd....

The midsole and outsole was the star of the Floatride 3 and 4 for me. Just a no-nonsense, flexible and fun shoe to run in.
