He tells her to remain there and thunders over to the minivan. And he goes all Incredible Hulk as he becomes that carjacker's worst nightmare. lol. If only this happened to EVERY carjacker that takes a child hostage, the world would be a safer place to live.
Reminds of why crime in NYC was so low back in the 90s, when criminals were afraid of being arrested and getting the ‘royal treatment’ in the local police precinct.

I like the subtle clues that leads Reacher to think something is awry: 1) When the lady slightly turns her head and says she needs to make another withdrawal, you can just barely see the bruise on her left cheek 2) When he observes her inputting her information, he sees blood on her hand 3) He sees the withdrawal is for $500....if she just made a withdrawal, why would she be taking out another $500? I can buy someone legitimately needing to make multiple withdrawals, but the bruised cheek and bloody hand were huge red flags....
Also....he looks over and sees a dude sitting in a soccer moms car.....and the mom is in front of him looking timid and nervous. It smells all wrong, and he reads it right.

Not sure what the laws are in the U.S or anywhere else for that matter but unfortunately if this happened in the UK Reacher would be arrested and likely sent to jail, the justice system is screwed.

I like how the crook conveniently looks the other way when Reacher approaches. That's the kind of fortune a protagonist needs to survive in a movie, instead of getting popped.
