I'm only 20 and I listen to Classic Disco and people think I'm weird but they don't understand how beautiful this kind of music is, got introduced to it by my dad❤
I'm old enough to have grown up with the 70's disco era, and I gotta say.. this Mercy Mercy tune is all right, but it's all 80's.. and not really even close to what I'd call "disco." [Fun fact: I believe Colin Young sings this. Young was a lead singer for the Foundations and sings their classic "Build Me Up Buttercup."] It's derivative of disco, as so many 80's dance tunes were. "Disco" was really a fad that lived firmly in the 1970's (the Bee Gees, Donna Summer, Chic, and K.C. and the Sunshine Band) and by 1981, they had all been 'shown the door' by the public and the music industry-at-large. For a while, disco was openly disliked (if not hated), and dance music was re-packaged by the record labels as R&B (or "Urban"). You could still dance to it, but by 1981-2, they'd never call it "disco."
@@ss27526 Thanks for clearing this up Scott. It’s such muddy waters, but I believe easy to under stand why people err. Disco generally was much more uptempo to start with and had very short lifespan. Innocent mistake by the average Joe.
In 1987 a school friend loaned this amazing LP to me. I must confess till today, I still haven’t given it back to him! I just couldn’t let it go. I pray he has forgiven me🙏🏽🥺😊
Absolutely amazing song, brings back great memories from Disco Heaven in Cos Greece where "It must be Heaven" was played around 87😀 and we danced and danced like we never did before...
I was 16 years old when this song came out and I would played it at full blast and my mom will become so angry with the noise, eventually the song got to her. Those were the good old days
One of ALL time classics and its 2022. This is the epitome of fine music, such memories, wow...me like 12yrs old jiving to this song back in the day when life was completely innocent.
I loved this song in my teen years. Listened on my ear phones volume on full...the amazing sound, vibrations and sensations utterly blew my mind, heart and soul. Still love it all these years later.
