  • Something must have spooked them because the alpacas are in a tight alignment. As we look over the group, the lens exposes errors in our shearing.

    Since they were scared into “formation”, was the leader of the group the “boss” and Nitos and his mother, the “bottom”? Or was the group organized more randomly? Just wondering…. It’s not important, really.

      Jargane (and by association Nitos) are at the bottom of the hierarchy. This was established on the 2nd day the 5 arrived to our little hobby farm. Cosette wrestled Jargane and quickly "pinned" her to the ground. I was astonished. Jargane needs to be fed by us because she will not advocate for herself. She scavenges food after others leave. She is clever but not strong. Nitos has learned a lot from her.
