- A small trip to the forrest with my new build QCX mini 20m.
There was no sponsoring. I bought the QCX mini.
This is my first video here. I will upload more soon. Next step will be the connection from the receiver audio to the camera. I think the audience should be able to listen to the QRP radio.
The buzzing fly at 2:23 nearly fooled me! It flew from my right to my left in my AirPods. I just built my QCX Mini 20M rig and I love it.
It was a hard situation of two S9+++ signals. The QCX does not have AGC. So the audio amp will clip and result in this terrible noise.
@@echopapaqrp8166 I meant the literal buzzing fly in the recording. Listen with headphones starting at 2:15. It's pretty realistic. Regarding the lack of AGC, yeah, that can also bite.
Help me please, I have a QCX QRP (not mini version) and an antenna EFHW of QRP Guys like you. But I dont have an antenna analyzer. :-( I want to transmit in 40 meters. How should be the configuration? TG9NYM.
I think this is impossible. Without a measurement it will not work. I can tell you the exact cable length of my antenna. But it is for sure it will not work with your setup. Every transformer, every cable, ...., has big influence on the parameters. The only way is to measure it one time. For the EFHW it is OK to measure one time. The vertical antenna I have to check every time. Vy 73 de Bjoern, DL2NEP
Nice video! What exactly was your antenna? 73, K8JLW
Its an end fed half wave antenna (about 10m wire connected to an 1 : 49 transformer).
@@echopapaqrp8166 Thanks!
@@echopapaqrp8166 QRP Guys EFHW (qrpguys.com/qrpguys-end-fed-wire-antenna), modified to allow a ground/counterpoise? Looks good! Thanks for sharing! 73, MW7PAJ
did you have a clunterpoise wire coming off the backside of the feedpoint?
