Good video but tapping into those speaker wires wont work with factory crossovers in my 2015 yukon. I followed this video to a T and all output I got was mid range. You need to tie into the factory sub speaker wires for bass. Im having a hard time getting to it as I think it up in the front of the center console

Thanks for your comment! I follow this video to a T also, and my subs sound awful! I bought different amps and subs. Still getting the same results. Can someone please tell me what wire to tab into…

What makes your video better than most is your play by play with options for the installer. You helped a lot.

For anyone installing a Sub Amp with a Factory Bose Head Unit, DO NOT tap into one of the speakers for your high level out as these are crossed over by the head unit (Bass response will be minimal). You should go under the center console and tap into the Subwoofer input (& Disconnect that POS while you are in there).

I have done this and no sound is being output. I tapped the sub wiring in the center console on my Tahoe and it's like Bose knows it wants me to fail. Amp is powered on and sub works in another vehicle. Any more insight?

Just an FYI, there is a nipple that you can cut off on the firewall grommet that allows for running wires. If you use the drivers side grommet, it will come out just above the electrical center to the left of where your foot rests.

When shaving the cable I use a exacto or box cutter but your way if not other way
I recommend going around the cable in a straight line this technique takes time to learn though -but the last thing you want is a bunch of cable being cut into so if there are more than a bundle of strands falling out then recut and try again -I generally get about 1-3 strands on the usual... but I recut if it's over 5 or close to 10 strands because that's close to a bundle.... bundles are what they twist together smaller bundles of wire to make 1 big bundle called cable

I just can't bring myself to use any taps on my own truck's wiring. I'm sure it saves time, but I've run into too many instances where people have used them and they fail.
