I haven't seen a lot of his movies but my favorite is the lonely guy and i love the quote he has in the movie " I don't like naps, i can only take the shock of who I am once a day".

Love Cavett. The best. My first recollection of uncomfortable humor was Charles Grodin. He always kept us offbeat. Original Genius. RIP

He was 46 here and looked 35. His biggest period of stardom was all in his 50s though of course he'd been highly successful long before that happened.

Hey Dick Cavett channel managers - I’m curious how Monsieur Cavett himself is doing these days. Can you post some kind of hello or welcome video with him? The latest interview I’ve seen was him reviewing his career on I think the 92nd St Y channel...several years ago by now. If he’d be comfortable it would be nice to see him and maybe hear him answer subscriber questions if he’s up to it.

Is this channel ever going to show Dick Cavett shows where he interviews Jackie Gleason and/or Art Carney? I don’t have the Decades channel at all.

do have nothing against the other celebs that were on this show but is this channel ever going to show the Dick Cavett shows where he interviews Jackie Gleason or Art Carney? How about any Honeymooners actors that were part of the main cast? These are rarities much like all the other Dick Cavett shows.

Ever seen "Seems Like Old Times" or "Midnight Run"? Grodin is good in both of those. I'm told he's great in "The Heartbreak Kid" and "Real Life", though I've never seen either. I think he did his best stuff in the 70's and 80's, before the media boom. You have to appreciate dry humor to truly enjoy Grodin. He was also great at playing irritable characters. He enjoyed messing with the audience and creating pseudo conflict as evidenced by his appearances on The Tonight Show and Late Night With David Letterman.

@@bubufubu Love dry humor. I believe Bob Newhart's another one you just don't 'get' if you don't appreciate dry humor, some people today just prefer being hit over the head with the comedy. Anyway, rest in peace Mr. Grodin.
