La scène se situe en 1885 dans la cour du Kremlin. Le tsar Alexandre III passe en revue les cadets d'une école militaire dirigée ans le film par le général Radlov sous l'auspice du Grand Duc.
Apparaissent successivement: 1. La marche du Régiment Préobrajensky 2. La marche "Yegersky" 3. La marche du 108e régiment d'infanterie «Saratovskii» 4. L'hymne "Dieu sauve le tsar" Боже, Царя храни! - Hudba

Actually my grandfather was a cadet in Tsar Alexander' s army, he survived WWI , he died in Munich, Germany. His brother faught on the German side in the Medical Corps.

These lovely young officers, if they lived to the October Revolution of 1917, would definitely join the White Army of Gorchak to fight against the Bolshevik Red Army. I guess their ending was either killed by the Bolsheviks in Cheka in the concentration camp, they would either went to Harbin in China, or they would follow Kerensky to the United States or went to Paris. I think of it, I cried.

Тут скорее можно говорить о 1914 и наступлении армии Самсонова, не позволившего перебрасывать резервы с востока на запад и наоборот, вынудившего Германское командование выделить два корпуса из под Намюра, для боев на востоке, вместо переброски их, скажем, в полосу действия 1-й армии фон Клука (Первая битва на Марне)
Однако, война, это координация всех сил (операция в восточной Пруссии, нам обошлась, к слову, очень дорого), и заслуга Русской армии, ровно такова, как и заслуга французов, англичан, бельгийцев... Жаль, что "союзники" немного подзабыли об этом к моменту Парижской мирной конференции. Хотя, "нет тела - нет дела", цинично - но факт.

Hmm.. I note that the marching isn't right for the old Tsar army, more like a Soviet era march which still in use today. I looked at the old film of Nicholas II's coronation and the soldiers march looked different. Hurrah is right cos they celebrated like this when they beat off Napoleon.

The march is historically correct and there was (as in many army of the world) several ways to parade according to the units or the occasions. Moreover, the USSR has resumed the same way of walking as the imperial army, one more thing that will escape you. "Hurray" existed before the battles against Napoleon.
