Still the best bang for the buck! After years of abuse, also the least of a " money pit" to keep running. If I could only own one RC, it would be the Summit.
Agree. I have an original model that's going on 10 years old and it still runs great. Never needed to change the motor or gears. Best RC I've ever owned by far.
Only one I have is an Aton. But I plan on buying this one at some point.
@@mistresssuccubus2176 You will love it. It's extremely versatile and letting first time users try it won't end up in you collecting your rc car in a bucket of a million pieces. Crawling and bashing without smashing. BTW your name had me looking like three times to make sure I read that right. Also, how do you like the drone?
@@steveryder6733 I really like the Aton. It was my first helicopter and my first Traxxas RC vehicle after getting back into the hobby again. And I know they won't break so easily. That's the reason I went with a Traxxas model. I've crashed my Aton so many times. Flying it up until I crashed it so bad I needed to get new parts for it. Plus having lights on it make it easy to see at night. Flight controls are easy. And I like the autopilot landing feature. I also like that the controller offers a battery meter. My complaint about my Aton is the batteries. Not much run on the largest 3 cell I can. Its about 30 minutes of flight time. And the batteries are expensive. Otherwise I would buy 3 or 4 batteries for her to keep her in the air. Other then that. I enjoy flying it.
@@mistresssuccubus2176 Thanx so much for letting me know. I do typically run the traxxas batteries with thier rc cars. Convenience. So I would only need the Aton itself since I've got the batteries covered. The hobby gets so expensive but it's always a blast and gets you out to beautiful places.

It depends on what you want to do with it if you want to race or crawl. For around 200 you could get the Stampede or the Rustler.I also have a Slash 4x4 that thing is unbreakable.I recommend the Slash

Cool I'm thinking about getting one... I have a Traxxas slash and rustler and I have a red cat crawler as well as my father
... But what are your opinions on summit for crawling?
Imo the summit is a beast especially with the hi/lo gearing and kicking diffs. Buy one thing I would do is switch out the gears in both steering servos for metal ones, or just replace them with two 2075x “high torque” servos. Within the first 2 weeks of ownership the gears in one servo were completely striped so that’s why I would recommend doing that.

As I was looking to buy my 3rd Summit. I couldn't get my hands on one of them, too save my life!!! Out of stock, everywhere!!! Then something happened, I think it was the Revo 2.0. Then I knew what was going to happen. I was really looking forward to turning the Summit into a Scale Trail running monster truck. So I am really praying that the Summit 2.0, has all the same epic features as the original version!!! Because I still want to build a Scale Trail running Summit!!! ;)
First and foremost, I love Monster Trucks!!!
The Summit is the Ultimate Scale Trail platform!!!
Here's my reason for believing this...
1st, reason is that epic runtime when running 2 2S 7'600-MAH LiPos.
2nd, reason is that awesome two speed transmission! Because you still have plenty of wheel speed for hill climbing!
3rd, reason are those incredible differential locks!!!
So add a narrow set of E-Maxx Chevron 3.8" Tires. So it's a little more narrow for running down the trails. Add a few scale accessories, and poof... THE ULTIMATE SCALE TRAIL RUNNING MONSTER TRUCK!!!!! ;)

Gettin a Summit the day before Thanksgiving . . Mone will be blue . . Stepping up from a Slash 2wd and the 4x4 Slash . . Will say the 4x4 Slash has more issues on the stock batteries . . Suggest more like shocks, aluminum bearing adapter and getting good bearings . . Plan on upgrading my Summit with better axles since i know they twist

Wat would u guys sudgest a slash 4x4 or the summit? I already have a latrax sst and ive bein looking into getting a slash 4x4 for the longest time, but i recently came across the summit, now i cant take my eyes off it. What do u guys think? And I hope they never take down the summit because it truly is a beast.

Nice video! Quick question, my summit's suspensions are pretty stiff. Even though i rotated the bolt at the maximum length of the spring, when i push it down it goes pretty hard and after that it won't lift up. Any solutions? Thanks.
I have a summit too and the suspension also is kinda wierd im not a pro so im just spiting crap outa my mouth but i put some oil on the springs and it made it a litle better
