NADIA VELLA BIOG
Versatile Maltese performer Nadia trained at Hertfordshire Theatre School, UK, graduating in Musical Theatre. She furthered her vocal training at Trinity College obtaining a Licentiate in Vocal Performance under the mentorship of soprano Gillian Zammit.
A featured soloist with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra in the APS Summer Festival and 1565 and a performer in The Malta International Arts Festival, Notte Bianca and Arte Lirica Festival in Italy following her training at the Veneto Opera School with Dr. Matteo Dalle Fratte, supported by The Malta Arts Council.
Among her many notable credits are Christine (The Phantom of the Opera), Min Hi (Teatru Malta) Wednesday (The Addams Family), Abigail(The Crucible), Diva (Ahna Refugjati) Alice (Closer), Catherine (The Memory of Water) and a Soloist in Handel's Messiah and Maltese rock opera 'Gensna.'
She recently played 'Belinda' in 'Dido and Aeneas' and collaborated with tenor Nico Darmanin in 'Opera in the City.'
She also appeared in feature film 'Blood on the Crown' playing Benedick Blythe's opera singing lover, her voice features in the movie.
Nadia is an artist in Teatru Manoel's 'The Monteverdi Project.' She holds an LTCL in Vocal Teaching and works as a vocal coach at 'Masquerade Theatre Arts School' and 'Vocalbooth Studios’.
