Hey friends, sorry about the audio cutout near the epoxy section. Video editing software apparently had a brain fart on export 😂
I was wondering 😊
Appreciate the positivity this channel brings to my life; I’m certain this sentiment is shared. 🌞
When Ashley is smiling, I am smiling!!😄😄I just love how the door looks🙌
Ashley's eye's are as blue as the Sapphire gin bottle. And, she never stops, the glue of the family.🌹
That door is gorgeous. Way to go Ashley you are absolutely an artist.
I have to agree with the others about Ashley’s smile and beautiful eyes! The Casa De Caca is soooo very cool and that door! That door is the coolest ever!!! All your projects turn out so cool and I learn so much watching you guys. Thanks for sharing with us. Can’t wait for the next vlog 😁
This episode is so much fun! I learned a lot. The door is fabulous. You two are so talented!!!😊
That door does look really cool! Pretty much everything you all do is COOL! 🤘😊💛
Ashley has magical creativity and her hubby is best support fella around❤❤ Blessed with beautiful family and awesome lifestyle. We enjoy following along from Mississippi 🌟🌟
Isn't it amazing how there are so many details to do, even after all the hard work you have done⁉ GOOD JOB‼love the door with Ashley's creative touch👌💯
That door, though! Reminds me of how an old barn looks, but a different color, add the linseed oil, even better! Can't wait to see it on the Casa de Caca!
Dear Ashley & Jonathan,
I really enjoy your posts. Your honesty/transparency is refreshing to experience with you!
I really like both sides of your bathroom door. At first, I could not see it, but you showed me! It is so lovely!
I love color fields like Mark Rothko paintings. I did some and it can be really fun to see how your color layers come out. Some layers of different colors are laid on. Washes may be done as well, I call washes very thinned down colors with water. After it’s all dried, some light to heavy sanding will reveal different colors/shade, with texture, and depth. It is really fun to do!
Jonathan, your dilemma a with water flow may be solved by putting a siphon or negative pressure at the tap. It’s like siphoning gas. Get the water level up some, pump up that foot pump with the faucet fully opened. Keep pumping as you slowly shut the faucet valve. There should be water primed and ready to flow as long as the suction is not broken. What you also said about raising up the water supply will work, too. Perhaps filling a 50 gallon drum and platform it up above the faucet level. With elevation, you’d not need the foot pump at all.
Is the screening for your toilet compost put on after it is taken out of use? I spent waaaay too much money for a composting toilet about 20 years ago. As soon as the weather warmed up, the gnats swarmed! Mixing in the medium like cocoanut core, adding in diamatacious (?) earth (DE). That really helped with the buggy situation. If you do a separation of urine and solids, it should not smell terribly. The urine can be rendered down and used as a deterrent around you property lines. Dog poop is really effective. I live in SW NM and have similar desert weather as ya’ll do. I’ve had chickens for decades and love the fuzzybutts!
Best to you both as you continue your wondrous journey!
P.S. I’m subscribing as of today, too.
The door looks amazing! The color combination reminds me of tarnished copper patina. I can see a new name added to your list of euphemisms: Copper Potty.😎
It's the flashiest composting toilet I've ever seen. Well done guys. Love it.
Ashley's smile and those beautiful eyes
Wow
Mrs H coming at ya. I start my days with you. I feel my spirits lift with every minute you are here, also glad you are are only there a short time so I can get my chores done. lol keep on gettin on.
No one will want to leave the bathroom it is so cool! Loved watching the process.
What a great job. Can’t wait for the house.
Check valve! Is there a check valve in the foot pump? Nice job plumbing in the sink! That seems to work well with some pressure from water in the tank. I really like how you put the epoxy on the toilet seat. The no-see-um screen and the metal covers over the other barrels look great. The door trim came out nice Ashley. I really like how the door painting came out too! Thanks for this video Longnecker family!
I love your artistic abilities!!! Love!
It's exciting and almost finished! I LOVED seeing Tiger again. He's my favorite. There's nothing like an orange tabby!! If for whatever reason he needs a new home, I'll be happy to come pick him up, and bring him back to Va. with me. I'm ready for another orange tabby. Just sayin'.
OHMYGOSH Ashley, that door is AHHHmazing!! I absolutely love it! Totally looks like an authentically desert weathered door and the color is spot on!
I love Tiger! I am retired and just like him I love to eat all the food and lie around!😄
You were right the door is amazing! I love it! Good job 🎉🎉❤❤
That door is inspired!!!!! Wheels are turning in my head about replicating it. 🤔. I LOVE that you put bloopers at the end!!!! ❤
I LOVE the door. :)
Hi 👋 the door has a 100 percent approval rate... well done... just love it... ❤️ Great Build...Great Kids...Great Dogos
The door 🚪 s beautiful! 👍
Ashley you just made a piece of art. The door looks amazingly beautiful. Great job with the foot pump. Love and be safe!🤗😘🌼🇻🇪
Ashley, I can see why you love Jonathan. He is So cute and funny! He and Ada have those smiling eyes. But then, all of you are so cute and funny, and adorable, which is why we like watching your videos.
The door came out really attractive! I like the distressed look. Some day you might want to try using a car wash sponge instead of a brush. It's fun and easy and cleans up so quickly. And you can cut it up to the size you need - and it's cheap! 😊
Thanks guys for another great video! Lum 💖
Love the door
Ashley, that door looks amazing! Love that colour!
Looks great. The only thing missing with the epoxy is an imbedded picture of cholla cactus or a rattle snake. It adds a bit of excitement to the “outhouse experience”. No one will park it on the throne with a newspaper for sure.
I love the color of the door. I like it .
LOOOOOVE that door color!!!
Thats exactly how you use milk paint/chalk paint! Its my favorite because you just need to make sure the piece is clean of dust and dirt, no sanding required til you want to finish it. :) You did an awesome job!
Punch that punch list! Too funny!
That door came out stunning. I love it!
You two are so much fun. Your end of video bloopers make me smile.
Wow! It must be gratifying to have accomplished so much. The only place I'd put my 2 cents in is about which barrel to start using first. The corners would be my choice to use so I wouldn't have to squeeze behind a used barrel later on. I'm confident that you know better than me which to use first though. I especially love the variety of bottle windows. Great job all around.
Looks great 👍
Ashley, I have worked with gallons upon gallons of epoxy. If you need just a touch more of epoxy and have any denatured alcohol (has to be denatured alcohol, or something 190 proof- Everclear), you can add just a touch of it to your epoxy. It will thin out the epoxy. The epoxy will flow much easier and will be much more fluid. If you get bubbles in your epoxy, you can "flame it" or else use a heat gun and all the bubbles will completely go away. Also, you need to mix this stuff until it's fully incorporated. I typically use a paint mixer drill attachment, stopping to scrape the sides several times before mixing again. If you see smoke or else notice the epoxy is heating up, this just means the epoxy is "kicking off" and is starting to cure. You've got this girl! You can do epoxy!
The door is beautiful! And, if you didn't know, yucca blossoms are very edible. I have a jar of pickled yucca blossoms and garlic in my fridge right now and they can be stewed, sauted, tossed in soups and frozen for later use.😀 Chop off the whole stalk for ease of picking.
That door is breath taking
Love the originial door finish!
The trees look like they're doing well. They look green which livens up the area.
OK, you lost me somewhere between the first “goes into that” and “easy!”😂
I think cats are known to find the most comfortable spot they can. I think you can be confident that the outhouse will have a very comfortable temperature at all times.
Started following you guys because I was considering the timeless fence, and stuck around because you guys are amazing! I live in Florida, so kinda opposite climates, but your builds are fascinating. That bathroom, with the stucco and bottles is beautiful!
I’ll be copying what you did with the shelter logic. I have 2 of them, and one of the tarps just ripped less than a year in.
Love your channel ☺️
Aww thanks :)
LOL! Love the dry pump "music". The upcoming monsoons will help with that water level problem for the sink :-) One of the many things that sets you apart from some of the other "how to live off the grid" sites is your attention to the aesthetics. Your artistic leanings show everywhere. All your stuff looks very nice. Everything from your special touches on and in the buildings to the clean looking electrical and plumbing work.
Looks super good guys! Love seeing Ashley smile ❤
Love what you did with the door Ashley!
Door looks great and I love the color. Cat door to the loo for Tiger?
Beautiful!🩵
I like the way the space under the solar panels became the de facto outdoor shop. It's a wonderful thing to do with the space.
You guys never cease to amaze. You've come a long way. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
I love the door ❤
Great job
Love the door!! And that big clear bottle window is awesome. The whole bathroom is coming together. I also love your wrap up at the end of the videos, you two are so funny 😂❤
That is one great creation! Looks so much prettier than I thought it would turn out to be. Great job!
The door is perfect!!! You may not have stirred the epoxy with enough vigor. You have water!!!! What a great video!
Ashley your delight is infectious😊we are all smiling too
Ashley I love your inventiveness…it radiates from your person
I agree with the comments about Ashley’s eyes being so blue and she is just like the energizer bunny.

I did want to ask about no cats in the house? Why is that?
Gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous Casa De Caca door! But it's just the cherry on top of the cupcake! The whole penthouse pooper is so well done that I don't that I could do what I am intended to d in there! I might just come in for a minute and look around and say - "wow! it's so cool". But umm, honestly . . . no bug's in the pooper!
Ashley, I love, love, love the door!! Great job!
I really like how the door turned out, great color choice and of coarse a fantastic job of painting and finishing
The foot pump is very musical!
So exciting! Looking great...Ashley, you are so artistic...love it!
Love love love how the door came out!!
The door looks so amazing!! 🥰 Great vision and job Ashley! 🌵😎
Placing a clean box upside down over the epoxy seat would have kept a lot of dust from getting stuck on it as the epoxy dried.
A distressed door for the KYBO----not bad. Can't wait for the stucco and the edging to come in. Those soon-to-be thrones should have had large toadstool covers, lol, but I am no designer (obviously). Good episode, y'all.
Both sides of the door are beautiful.
🥰 if you have inside dogs you can have a inside cat.😻 I love them both. Love the caper house.
Love the progress guys. The steam shack 😂 is looking awesome. Love the music you put in the videos . Keep up the hard work and keep smiling 🙂.
The door is beautiful! I love the front side.
I love the manly Punch and he means it! Such progress.
Doing random things gets things closer to being done. Y'all got this.
Great Job!!!!!!
That door is AMAZIIIIIIIIING!! Such a beautiful result!
Love the color turquoise. It’s so light and airy.
Oh yeah, that is probably the most gorgeous wooden door finishing that I have ever seen. Bravo🎉 Just be diligent in re-oiling before and after every summer and winter because all of my neighbors who didn't had shrunken warped wooden doors after only a couple of years because of the extreme temperatures and moisture variations we desert dwellers experience during these 2 seasons.
Door looks great. I love what your doing.
Thank you yet again for another adventure with your projects. Looking forward to the punch line.
Yeay. Looks great inside, & good job Jonathan.❤
Amazing door Ashley ❤
I like the second side of the door best.
Nice work on the door! Sounds awesome! 🎉
Love the bathroom door! Very cool.
That door turned out AWESOME!
I LOVE the color for the door 😊
Love that door. Great job!!!!!
Hey girl. I love how you stay after it. 🎉🎉🎉
You guys have gone so far, and I’m really impressed with the work you do. Do have people visiting your villa sometimes?
Only occasionally- have to be on the email list to know when we have events. tinyshinyhome.com/meetup
You need to have your propane torch on hand. If tiny air bubbles show up your supposed to quickly wave the flame across the epoxy. Watch a CZcams video on it.
If you put a heavy coat of milk paint on the surface, let it dry, then sand, you will get a distressed paint surface, so it looks naturally worn off, (don't forget to sand where the door knob is, to look worn where the hands have worn it off), then seal. Shabby Sheek.
Love love love the door! Awesome job!
Love the door it's perfect. Great job. ❤❤
I love epoxy I did it on the outdoor table I made. It's beautiful.
Punch it Jonathon. !!
Miss seeing you guys when not on. I’ve said before you are are amazing family.
