These are very, very good videos to watch if you are looking to obtain a "608" certificate. They are a great refresher if you are attempting to test for the universal type. Take the time to watch all of the videos and the updates that posts. Many of the videos in this library are better than the classes I have PAID for at the local college. Nonetheless, these are fantastic videos to watch if your aren't sure if you think this is a field you may or may not want to get into. i followed a bitter old man around for $10/hr. a week after i got the job i had to go stand by the work van because i handed him the wrong size nut driver. i stuck it out for two years. i was never commended for doing good work, just always scolded for not being 110%. looking back it was well worth it. 5 years later, im kicking ass as a lead installer. making money and living comfortably. r.i.p. michael james gilmore.

Thank you THANK YOU! I am having trouble identifying what order the videos go in, but overall, these videos are AMAZING! I am in college PAYING for these classes, and the teacher is reading out of book, showing only pictures from the book. Im also in an accelerated program where we take 12-weeks of classes in 3weeks (learning unit 1-11 in 3 weeks), so am having trouble keeping up with the reading and fully understanding it from reading so much, so fast. These videos are saving my butt right now!! Im having trouble ordering the videos because, as an example, this video, says Intro, and the description says start here, but then there is "heat and pressure lecture", unit 1, and unit 2 "matter and energy", but this particular video is unit 3. Also some of the videos, seem to be just a review of what was already learned, and not the actual lesson, and not sure if the actual lesson is on the channel or not. But even the short 5 minute videos are saving me!! I found a unit 9, but haven't found unit 4-8 yet, or 10-11. Some of them are labeled with unit numbers, and some are not. You are such an amazing teacher, thank you for providing these videos!

I got so confused: he said if he gets an iced coffee and the ice melts, that the milk is starting to spoil?? The scenario I thought, was that he was running an errand and left the coffee in the car. Even if all the ice melts and the drink is over 40 degrees, it's not immediately going to spoil the milk, especially if it is a mixture, as opposed to a carton on the counter.
I just don’t like to see that milk form a film on the top of the mixture when I get back. No ice and that film lets me know it might be too late. But still might drink it anyway.

I have watched this lecture 5 times now and I am seriously struggling to draw the connection between BTUs and tonnage and why that specific terminology is so convoluted. Please help
You mention that in the evaporator and the condenser its latent heat change. Am I correct to say that the compressor is sensible heat change? Also what about the suction line and the liquid line and discharge line is it a mix of latent and sensible heat?
+texture6 yes. Compressor adds a ton of sensible superheat. Suction line should also be sensible unless the evaporator is flooded and some liquid gets by. Liquid line is also supposed to be sensible unless there is flash gas from a long pipe run. Only evaporator and condenser have both sensible and latent heat gain/loss. Did this answer your question? I did have a question regarding BTUs. Why do we use the 144 btus needed to melt ice at 32 degrees and not include the 16 BTUs needed to bring the ice from 0 to 32 degrees? Not sure why this isnt included in calculatin the tonnage of a unit.
+Ryan X the 16 BTUs is to raise the temperature of the ice from 0 to 32 is sensible heat. Once at 32 the latent heat process takes over and the temperature will not change until the one pound of ice is one pound of 32 degree water. We could have started the graph from almost -460 and said we needed 246 BTUs to raise the temperature to melting. (492/2) or 492 x .5 but that's not in the calculations for tonnage.

Jerrard Hunter some schools might take them once at a time and some other schools do it all at the same time just study hard and you’ll pass I’m not an good test taker but I got my type one and 2
Just a note on teaching methods of instruction. Never stand in front of the projector. Stand to the side and use a lazer pointer or a stick to point out pertinent information. If you stand in front of the projection students cant read the information or take notes. You are also a distraction to the students when you do this. Also check on learning by pausing and asking questions about the information to make sure you are getting your point across. Especially with complicated stuff like this. Not everybody will use their phone to video the lecture to post on CZcams.

How about simplifying it?
BTU/hr ÷ 6 = pounds per day.
Why go thru the trouble of multiplying by 24 only to then divide by 144?

can you take your type 1-3 EPA Cert all at once or do you have to take them one by one?

You can take individually (core plus type __.) or core and all 3 types. Take em all so you know what to expect for the next time
