In this video, I have started a new series called Minecraft Odd Run Out. This is the first rendition of it, featuring my friends Illumina + Couriway + Feinberg participating in this Minecraft challenge. Can I fool them with a fake speedrun? Or will they find the cheater?

This was really fun to have my run included! I got that like last summer so it was super funny rewatching and wondering why the heck I was doing what I did. I think it’s hilarious that the shield precraft made it so suspicious but it definitely was strange lol.

The only reason I knew one of the runs was not the fake run is because I remember watching that same person do that funky one cycle in a tournament forever ago

I just tought of the exact thing, but as pointed, they didn’t know who faked it and there are not that many graphic cards.
@@oetamsv5488 yeah, but the 750ti isn't that common nowadays. People usually go with something like 1660ti, so 750ti definitely sticks out.

I got it right, not grabbing the eye was what gave it away for me. Like risking the whole run for that seems a bit odd. Otherwise I would've guessed number two. Dunno if Couri or Fein even noticed that, weird because Illumina did and got it wrong.
Exact same reason for me they leave the eye leaving them with 11 then the portal is a 1 eye
They had blaze powder and pearls so it was fine anyway

I guessed #3 because it looked like someone that knows speedrunner things, but not how to actually do the speedrunner things. Just like someone trying to imitate a speedrunner on a known seed.

thoughts halfway through:
Run 1 seemed a little off. Mainly dolphin frontloading (on a set seed you could reset for that) and the wood use. The runner somehow mined the exact amount of logs to have enough for 5 beds and to get on too of the bastion.
It's odd that run 2 uses e-ray and fabric api. There was only a very very short time in which both were used by speedrunners (fanric api being forbidden around feb, e-ray being discovered around jan). I feel like it would be too obvious to be the fake, but it is definitely rare. Probably around Reign 14:07 wr.
So far I think run 1 is more likely to be fake than run 2.
edit: run 3 seems very legit so far. From the moment he doubted which spawner to go to, he won my heart lmao. Let's see the results. My final guess is run 1.

I think an interesting experiment would've been to show them the runs without telling them one was fake, and then see if they noticed on their own.
it would have to be more obvious than the runs here tho- as we can see from the vid it’s hard to tell if one is actually cheated even if you are explicitly looking for it
One thing I just found weird was in the third run they didn't go for the eye that dropped and when they got to the portal room they only needed eleven
They had two more blaze powder and enough pearls, so eyes weren't that critical.

I got it right. Run number 2 just looked like a new player. In the other hand, run number 3 was so strange at some parts, the slabs doesn't make sense, the way he ran and also the quality was better than the others. I looked at the skin and totally called a namemc one, namemc normally has anime skins more than other places. Also, the timer skin just screamed to me "youtube" run xD

It's so interesting the difference between runners having crazy good knowledge of structures and how things generate in Minecraft vs. knowing them TOO well and being a set seed

One note. The reveal felt off to me because it had to happen three times. I understand the logistics of why it happened like that, but it would've been very cool to hear the runners reacting to each other's thoughts and having a big joint reveal at the end.

I've never done a speed run before but have been playing for a long long time and it was awesome to find out that the run I predicted off of my general experience over the years was run 3! Great video👍

I got it right. How I found out 1. The other two seeds were bad while this one was good which was kinda a red flag to me and then 2. The slabs would not be enough to be a good time save.

I got it simply because I love off of the best being under the highest suspicion. The third was the cleanest, the smoothest out of all of them, the one that made the most sense. Of course you're not gonna want your cheated run to look sloppy. anxiety and paranoia does that to cheaters; they look back through their video, find something that looks sus and say "nope, that looks wierd, they're gonna call me out on that" and go back through it again so that way it doesn't look bad. The best ones are ALWAYS the most suspicious
I knew it was the third one like 10 seconds in, just from the skin, timer, and animation, things like the speed bridging reaffirmed my suspicion. But I also knew that Nerdi was the one doing the fake run which they didn't which makes a big difference because i wasn't looking at which run seemed cheated just which one seemed like Nerdi trying to fake a run

I knew it was three, because of them falling in the nether. Also the general smoothness of it really hinted
The first video I watched from you and know almost nothing about speedrunning. somehow I was able to guess right, but thats only because the viewers got an important clue in the beginning that the other 3 guys didn't have. Without this clue I would have rolled a dice instead. Great job to the third guy on finding out the correct one!

This was done real good. I instantly thought run three though with the clock, but the video was done well. Keep it up.
I was 50 : 50 between the 2nd and 3rd run, but what gave it away to me was at 19:25 when Nerdi told Illumina that it 'was the stronghold.' That was super sus, as well as the fact that the 3rd run was played at the skill level that I would associate with Nerdi. GG.

what you can tell that number 3 was cheated was because of the enderpearls, no sane speedrunner would have less than 12, because than it would ruin there whole run.

I really like this concept however them knowing that the fake is a set seed made it super obvious! I think having the dramatic irony side of just spotting a cheated run out of 3 different runs
