I read a little from the Desire of Ages at least once a week and of course the Great Controversy. HMS Richards Sr. and Sister Ellen G. White. Both directed people to the Bible and both directed people to Christ. Thank You.
To all who don't accept that E. G. White was a true prophet, well just read her writing in The Great Controversy (you may be able to listen to it on CZcams) and watch the prophecies fulfill as time progresses to the last days. It will be very clear what the mark of the beast is and it will be revealed who is serving God and who is serving Him NOT. Then many who are not sure will be able to understand clearly and make the choice to serve or not serve the true and living GOD

@erroer1 Are you referring to the "amalgamation" writings? I have carefully studied her comments regarding races and see no problem, however I do see a lot of people reading into the text and seeing things that simply are not there.
i too have the original statement. "man AND beast" "man WITH beast" do not mean the same thing regardless of what her critics and even Uriah Smith stated.

@erroer1, Also, those writings can be accessed by researchers, and if they find something that they feel should be released, they can request that it be released. I have a friend that did quite a bit of research in "the Vault", and found some interesting things that he got released. Also, it is not up to the "Church". The Estate was left in the care of Trustees that she picked, and they chose replacements, etc. And we do not worship her any more than we worship Peter or John! (which we don't!)
@erroer1 As far as the writings in the vault, yes, there are still a lot of unreleased writings. There are so many letters and manuscripts that it takes years to go through them and compile them for release. Every year or so it seems they come out with a few thousand more pages. There are also personal letters that have not been released because the person/family in question would be hurt by their release. Maybe the person repented of a private sin, and there is no good reason to expose it.

A big problem, more than the disbelief in others we're trying to reach, is that mocking is very painful to the human soul - maybe it hurts us so much because we're proud heh? SDAs will have only God in the end - all human support will be cut off - it's good to get the practise now!

After yrs of studying the life and writings of EGW, I have concluded that her critics are no different in their frame of mentality than the atheists r toward the Bible. Athiests constantly quote verses out of context, making the Bible look "ridiculous". Then when u defend it, they say the same thing u do as u do to us about EGW. Now THAT is what I call truly "pathetic". So anyone who dares attack EGW using these same tactics is mentally paralyzed.

The problem that most have (even SDA members) is a lack of understanding of how to understand and apply what she wrote. Her writings ought to be used to point people to the importance of Scripture. I have a wonderful experience with my church :) the church is not rich, I am not rich, and those that have more in my church, give, and give, we all give;what do we give? Love, in practical ways. Tell me, what is the "parable" of the rich man and Lazarus a comparison of? the PARABLE was a rebuke to the pharisees, they wrongly believed that they would go to heaven (Abraham's bosom) simply because they were genetically related to Abraham. the Parable highlited the fact that a poor man with no genetic relationship to Abraham had more chance of Heaven than they (because of their attitude) it also revealed to the listeners that a persons fate is sealed at death, i could go on if you like.
I believe it depends what you mean prophet. As a teacher I think so, but meaning 100 Percent perfect and holy I would agree with you. I just viewed her as a Prophet Like Luther, Surgen, Tyndale, Huss, ect. I do find it rather lame that people post all the websites out there just to stir up things.
God will judge people for what light they have. If a person receives the mark of the beast then that is because they have rejected what light was given to them. Gods message will be proclaimed throughout the world. So yes, if you choose knowingly to forsake gods commandments then how can you say you have him in your heart? For people who don't know the truth I trust god to judge. The sabbath is one of the 10 commandments that god told his people that he would write in their hearts.

She does talk extensively of the importance of helping the former slaves recover and lead normal lives, and of bringing them to Christ. If she did think they were some sort of amalgamation, she didn't let it change her view that they were fellow children of God! Oh, and these days amalgamation would be called cross-breeding or Genetic Engineering.

Joseph Smith has drawn people to their idea of Christ. Does that mean it is a good thing? During the 1800's there were some churches that came out of the religious rival that took place in america during that time. All of them have done some good things but it doesn't mean they have correct theology. Mormons would consider Joseph Smith to have the Spirit of Prophecy but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be scrutinized for the words he said.

Accusations about EGW have been made without any references or official quotes from any of the supposed sources. please provide an official statement made by the White estate confirming what you claim. i do study and am certainly not lazy and have during my research found nothing to validate your claims, i have heard many such accusations and so far none have held water.

The 7 heads and 10 horns on the beast give insight into the progression of this false religious system. So yes the wounded head, beast and woman can all represent Papal Rome.

Dinosaurs dying in the flood is the best explanation. All outside the ark perished, IF you believe the Bible. Jurassic Park was made but I'm sure all the creators saw were the skeletal remains. Maybe the Cambodians were paleontologists. The Stegasaurus carving you speak of is still up for debate, but it was about the size of an elephant & liked water. The Coelacanth was a dinosaur fish & is also said to be extinct, so you have to wonder why a fish wouldn't survive a flood. I am no expert.

There are SOME members of the SdA organization who think the role of Ellen White in the Adventist organization is the same as that of Joseph Smith in the LDS organization but my wife and I are among many Adventists who insist that there is a profound difference. LDS interpret the Bible by modern revelation (Joseph Smith and his successors). Adventists evaluate and interpret Ellen White's writings by the Bible. Sally and I believe that anyone who tries to interpret the Bible by modern revelation is likely to be deceived. We therefore recommend that you start with the oldest special revelation you can find and build on that. For example, that you evaluate and interpret the Greek additions to the Bible by the older, Hebrew" portions of it. I call that, "the principle of prior reference". On the road to Emmaus, when Jesus explained his crucifixion, how did he do it? "...beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself." Luke 24:27 (At that time, the Gospels and the Epistles had not yet been written.)
All doctrines are there too! It's all typified and tells what is to come. Israelites>Jesus>living temple/body. The end from the beginning. That which has not yet come to pass. Calvary is the pivot point in the chaistic structure of history. His story of redemption/salvation. Time is shorter than ever.

And furthermore for every significant movement described in Scripture a prophet of some kind is called to give guidance (well within the boundaries set by the Bible)to those connected with the movement. The gift or spirit of prophecy is an identifying mark of the remnant church described in Rev 12:17 (see also Rev 19:10) The SDA church does not place her writings on an equal level with Scripture, you are sadly mistaken

(Review and Herald, July 26, 1907) . Consider her works on Health, Family, Education, etc.

The fear of not believing EGW writings is what all SDA's are concerned with. If she "Happens" to be right and you didn't follow her THEORY you will go to hell, if she's wrong, you experience serious let down and may become disenchanted with the Bible Teaching altogether. That's why I think it's a trap of the devil She has never been correct in her prohecy, she doesn't write church doctrine according to SDA scholars, but she is seen as the authoritative voice for the SDA church. It seems your problem lies with the members you interacted with. No subtle training to accept EGW as true goes on in the churches i attend and where ever you go people walk around full of pride, such things happened in ancient Israel and God still regarded them as His people

HMS Richards lived to be 91 years old, but one Adventist web site states it was at 70 that he passed away. 91 is the actual age.

I believe it depends what you mean prophet. As a teacher I think so, but meaning 100 Percent perfect and holy I would agree with you. I just viewed her as a Prophet Like Luther, Surgen, Tyndale, Huss, ect. I do find it rather lame that people post all the websites out there just to stir up things.

God will judge people for what light they have. If a person receives the mark of the beast then that is because they have rejected what light was given to them. Gods message will be proclaimed throughout the world.
So yes, if you choose knowingly to forsake gods commandments then how can you say you have him in your heart? For people who don't know the truth I trust god to judge.

She talks about the amalgamations that were made, but she never says that there are any humans that are the result of it.
She does talk extensively of the importance of helping the former slaves recover and lead normal lives, and of bringing them to Christ. If she did think they were some sort of amalgamation, she didn't let it change her view that they were fellow children of God!
Oh, and these days amalgamation would be called cross-breeding or Genetic Engineering.

please read the statement carefully my friend, it does not read "amalgamation of man WITH beast" it reads "amalgamation of man AND beast" the statement describes two kinds of amalgamation, one pertaining to animal species and the other pertaining to mankind.

Joseph Smith has drawn people to their idea of Christ. Does that mean it is a good thing? During the 1800's there were some churches that came out of the religious rival that took place in america during that time. All of them have done some good things but it doesn't mean they have correct theology. Mormons would consider Joseph Smith to have the Spirit of Prophecy but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be scrutinized for the words he said.

Accusations about EGW have been made without any references or official quotes from any of the supposed sources. So maybe I am not the one wasting my time and furthermore if her writings are so dangerous would is it not your duty to provide evidence that those undecided about her might be enlightened.

Were EGW accepted and praised by those BOTH within the Adventist Church and outside of it, that would be evidence against her inspiration. That she is hated shows that she has been faithful to God stating things people don't like to hear.
Why take bible scripture and apply it to a false prophet.. all you have to do is ask the spirit.. she was not hated and y’all still praise her she was a racist and she stole most if not all of her work from other books.. sometimes not even changing a single word

As to the dozen or so comments in question, I rest comfortably that the Bible contains even more statements I am ill-equipped to defend or comprehend, as are many other. So I wait patiently for light. In the meantime, I compare everything through the lens of scripture and by the fruits they produce, and this little old lady really holds up as the real thing.
Nobody questions good works and fruits of those works. Claiming to be a prophet with many wrong prophecies is a whole different matter.
There are several similarities between the LdS (Mormon) organization and the SdA (Adventist) organization. Both originated in North America in the nineteenth century. Both were influenced by people who claimed to have special revelation.
There are SOME members of the SdA organization who think the role of Ellen White in the Adventist organization is the same as that of Joseph Smith in the LDS organization but my wife and I are among many Adventists who insist that there is a profound difference. LDS interpret the Bible by modern revelation (Joseph Smith and his successors). Adventists evaluate and interpret Ellen White's writings by the Bible.
Sally and I believe that anyone who tries to interpret the Bible by modern revelation is likely to be deceived. We therefore recommend that you start with the oldest special revelation you can find and build on that. For example, that you evaluate and interpret the Greek additions to the Bible by the older, Hebrew" portions of it. I call that, "the principle of prior reference".

Was John the Baptist a prophet? Messiah called him the greatest of all the prophets. Did he write any of the Scripture? Do you not think that his words (not recorded in Scripture) gave guidance, comfort and instruction? Do you not believe that what he said was a continuing and authoritative source of truth? And furthermore for every significant movement described in Scripture a prophet of some kind is called to give guidance (well within the boundaries set by the Bible)to those connected with the movement. The gift or spirit of prophecy is an identifying mark of the remnant church described in Rev 12:17 (see also Rev 19:10)
The SDA church does not place her writings on an equal level with Scripture, you are sadly mistaken

The fear of not believing EGW writings is what all SDA's are concerned with. If she "Happens" to be right and you didn't follow her THEORY you will go to hell, if she's wrong, you experience serious let down and may become disenchanted with the Bible Teaching altogether. That's why I think it's a trap of the devil She has never been correct in her prohecy, she doesn't write church doctrine according to SDA scholars, but she is seen as the authoritative voice for the SDA church. It seems your problem lies with the members you interacted with. No subtle training to accept EGW as true goes on in the churches i attend and where ever you go people walk around full of pride, such things happened in ancient Israel and God still regarded them as His people
