It has been a while since I looked at one of these watches which has a quick look at the conventional, 3 hand rule book, then ignores it entirely. This is very well made, I think, for the money, almost too well made as the weight makes it a bit top heavy and bobbly. But if you fancy owning 'the most interesting watch in the room' then this might fit the bill nicely. So long as none of your friends own a Richard Mille. Cheers, Jody
I don’t know what the hell is wrong with me these days. I kinda love this watch...🤔
Xeric should get tons of points for being really creative !
I own a blue XERIC halo 2 with a brass case. The watch is extraordinary and feels well-made. I’ve had it for nearly 2 years. It is a conversation starter for sure. The automatic movement is quite accurate, and once you wear it a couple of times it is very easy to quickly tell the time. A beautiful and unique piece of horology!
hi do you kniw where are they manufactured
@@e-archive california
how's the quality after 2 years now? 😐
I love mine and didn't pay a lot for it. I sent a pic of it to my sister Diane and asked her, "what time is it" and she replied......"It's CRAZY time"!!! That was hilarious. I have no problem reading the time on these watches. It does sit high off the wrist but I don't mind. It feels good on mine. Nice video Jody!!!
Xeric leather straps are amazing. I bought a Trappist and it is incredibly comfortable. Xeric customer support is also second to none. I'm debating which watch I will buy next. I love this brand!
I nearly pissed myself laughing when that lume shot popped up! That was the real lilly guilder for me haha
"I fink u freeky"
The shirt is on point👌
Genuinely surprised to see Jody wearing a Die Antwoord shirt. Perhaps he got it simply because Yolandi truly does look alien.
Not the first time He has worn it ;)
Rob Smith well then it’s just the first time I’ve noticed it ;)
He mentioned die antwoord in a video last week. He must be a genuine fan. Awesome!
tim walsh Now I’m more genuinely shocked I didn’t remember that...and I watch all his videos two or three times over, at least 😅
touch my lucas check out the top 10 watches from movies episode from a couple of weeks ago. It’s a subtle mention but he does say it. czcams.com/video/05WdrbPueSc/video.html
Been wearing my bronze and blue version for over two weeks and I find it extremely easy to read at a glance. Spectacular!
Not one that I’ll be adding to my collection, but very interesting to see something so very different; many thanks for reviewing it and making the video.
Quirky. but I love it! I was able to tell the time right away, but then again I'm kinda quirky too. 🙃
I would totally wear one of this. I loved the hands. That little frame looks like a face. And holy moly that planetary lume scheme looks amazing!
I've decided to make no negative comments today so ....Very nice strap .
Well done mate! Your therapist will be very proud of you this week. Cheers!
That's a great take! I'll follow your lead. Um...I like green?
@@JustOneMoreWatch Sticking to my guns your reply was "interesting" but we dont have them in Wales we just pull ourselves together lol .ps.love the T shirt
I'll just paraphrase Rodney Dangerfield from Caddyshack (hat scene) '... bet you get a free bowl of soup with that ... oh hey ... looks good on you though'.
nobody gives a shit what you have to say
I have the blue one and I love it. It's pretty accurat still I might add. I've had it for two years.
Now they are launching the Vendetta. An even more quirky one, but it's over a thousand dollars.
I'm definitely a diver's watch man, but I quite like this watch. As a halograph watch, I think it's easier than some others to read. Definitely quite steampunk! The short hidden lug to hidden lug length is interesting, but I think the top-heaviness of this watch is the only downer for me. Nice review though, Jody!
😃👍
Looking at this after a few drinks could be a problem.
After looking at this I need a few drinks.
That is insane! And yet very compelling. Once I figured out how to read the time I found myself wanting one. Cheers!
" Can it be true? That I hold here in my mortal hand, a nugget of purest green?"
Finally, a watch I actually own. I love this watch. It is wonderfully weird.
My son gave me one for Christmas and I love it
I met one of the owners while playing poker in Vegas. Super nice guy and half the table was fascinated by his watch. Very cool brand IMO.
Loving the extra video this week! Smashing it recently!
Great review!
I got the Xeric Soloscope SQ about 3 years ago. It was only the second watch I ever purchased, but it made me exited about many other watches and now I own 10 from different brands. I will admit that it is not my best quality watch but then again, I did buy it for just $200 (originally $300) and for that, it was really worth the expense with the fun it brought (and still brings). However, it is still my favorite watch to wear when going to any kind of gathering and looks good with any casual wear I own.
Xeric plays by their own rules of watch design and owns it.
I actually love this one! I don’t normally like largely unconventional watches, but this one is pretty sweet!
It’s a Beautiful and Unique design, it may look ugly to old school watch collectors that are not used to different-new things, but in terms of design, its gorgeous and very well put together.
I love these types of different watches. Not a bad price for what I can see is a well thought out design
Great review as always. Please always put the watches on the time grapher. Even with novelty watches it's nice to see how well they keep time.
I like it! Very unusual but still legible. I need a crazy watch... A bit pricey though.
(Love the Yolandi-shirt!)
Very unusual watch! My brother has one! He bought his as it looked like Quidditch goals!!!!;)
Now that you say that, I can't stop seeing it! 😂
Absolutely bonkers! I love it! 😍
Well that’s definitely a “describe it early in the dinner party” watch, as a couple of drinks in, I could not begin to explain it....😂
Definitely not a buy for me, but I shall be on the look out for one on someone’s wrist, just to shock them with recognition 😉
Thanks Jodie' 😇 this is certainly interesting and I've seen a couple variations really similar to this on AliExpress but I don't think I could ever get the hang of it.
A good quarantine piece.
I like how there is more lune on the minute and second hands like anyone will be able to tell the time anyway 😂
This mechanism is just like measuring things by vernier caliper 😂 And I love it 😍 So interesting and unique small mechanical engineering product 😍
A crazy watch to be sure, not for me but a great review as always. Thanks for taken the time.
I love watches that have character and this definitely does
Awesome review as always
I have one and it is one of the highest quality watches I own. My son gave it to me for Christmas. I do need glasses to read it. It has a great band also
Have you ever reviewed the Mondaine Stop2go? I like trains and Switzerland so I have been considering it. It is quirky as well.
I have a Mondaine in the queue but not the StopGo.
That's kind of cool looking in an odd way. Unique for sure. I like it.
Just ordered the navy blue one! I'm really looking forward to the day it'll arrive!
That 2 o'clock crown is a deal breaker. (🙃)
That's your biggest concern?! HA! Cheers mate.
I guess part of the fun is deciphering the time! This was easy compared to the other freaky watches you've shown us!
As a space nerd and watch nerd I like there NASA watch best.
I got this exact watch when they launched, and was wondering when you'd get your hands on one!
@zack oblong yes! Its great at parties, and looks great on a green leather strap
I ordered a Trappist-1 just about a month ago, and it has been a saga. I paid for 3 day shipping but it took 12 days for the watch to arrive. When it did show up the crystal was cracked. The box had no signs of damage, so I suspect it left the factory that way. I contacted customer support and they provided a return shipping label after a few days. Unfortunately, the label had the addresses reversed so a few days after I mailed it, it showed back up in my mailbox. I contacted them again and got a corrected label, so the watch is back in transit. At this point, I don't have much hope that I'll see a proper watch in my hands before October.
A comedy of errors, but I don't think I'll be buying another Xeric, thank you very much.
It's an interesting design. What I'd like to see is something like that with a super high domes crystal and oil filled. I guess it would have to be quartz though.
Great video. I would love to have seen this on the graph to see how it ticks. I have the blue version with tan and its worth the money
Great work of art :-)
Love Xeric, at the very least theyre always making something interesting
Bonkers watch, excellent Flight of the Conchords reference, Cheers!
I've got the soloscope sq and I think its fantastic. Its simpler to read than this one, and the square shape and curved split crystal looks great
Yo, that lume! It has me seeing stars! 😍
So nice to see a watch that's really interesting and fun. (most watches are so... Pedestrian) Thanks for showing!
Of the bizarre watches you have reviewed, this is the best I’ve seen. Cool design.
As Bono said, 'I don't know what it is, so it must be art'.
That's pretty awesome, I'd get one💯
And why the hell not! It's not gonna be a daily wear, but what a great piece to wear occasionally and make you smile. Good for them :)
Definitely not my cuppa, but you get your regular upvote from me simply for continuing to provide excellent content!
Thanks David, and thanks for watching.
Entertaining Video as always. I guess I have to look it three more times just to understand how to read the time with this watch 😂😂😂
It's dead easy once you realise the hour and half hour, and the 12 and 6 are on the centre line, for the minutes if your left of that line your going towards the hour and half past the hour depending on which track its on and if your on the right you're moving away from them. Once it clicks its fine
I’ve been waiting for the review on this watch Jody because I was on the fence about it, well needless to say I’m still on the fence 😆
A friend bought a Xeric Holoscope SQ a while back & I had to swallow the bit of sick that popped up uncontrollably into my mouth without offending the owner. Definitely a show pony of a watch company & if that's what floats your boat go for it 😀
Happy to see a Xeric Review! Any chance you could check out a Moon Trappist?
That's a wacky one, but pretty darn cool! Thanks Jody!
Certainly a conversation piece, not sure if everyone would appreciate it if you have to explain them how to tell the time first though.
Great video.
There's a few knock-offs of this style of watch on Aliexpress. They can be had for under £20.
A talking point for sure 🤤
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery
Feel like a Casio Edifice review is well overdue! Or even a Casio SW review (those are the high beat quartz watches with a smooth second hand that Casio produces)
Nice watches, but i got a little question....how could i see what's the time on that watch? If i have a watch on my wrist i would like to know what's the time sometimes probably.
I ordered the quartz chronograph version of this watch...why quartz?...like Jody said its about the design for sure! Please try to get your hands on their Leadfoot model for review Jody!
I actually liked the Egard watch you reviewed a LONG while back. But that was another "quirky" watch with the Mayan calendar.
Oh these looks very nice :)
Reminds me of the
Reservoir retrograde/jumping hour series or KLOKERs (kickstarter classic) series of watches
This would be a fun watch to own. The deal breaker for me is the grill section. I just don't like it. Then again, my friend thought the grill section was a great bonus. 😉
The materials look very smart and I was immediately drawn to the strap. However... I prefer to use both halves of my watch-face when telling the time, but then I am a bit of a rebel. No quibbles about the reviewer though.
An approximate copy of this is available in digital format on alibaba for a shade under £30.00 . Much thinner and lighter too. 😎
Nice matching tee :)
Here is a question.. Do you keep the boxes the watches come with or you trow them away and just put the watch in the watch case with the other ones.
I keep the boxes but put the watches in other boxes. Madness indeed! 🤣
I'm so confused I'm not even sure if I like it or not!
How much for this watch.. loved it
Did the discount code expire?
I'm not brave enough to wear one but it is clever. Nice video.
"Just one more T-shirt". Love it! That watch though..... ya, not so much.
I like it 😊
I guess I'm more of a traditionalist than I imagine myself. As much as I enjoy watches of all kinds, I really just want to glance at my wrist and know the time. Silly me.
Genuinely, this watch is *easier* for me to read the time on than a normal one, this just highlights the hour and the minute, including having little hours for when it’s half past, so no working that out either. This watch is *more* legible than a traditional watch.
@@Azeria Are you the 12 year old who designed it?
Honestly, it really isn't that bad. It takes some adjustment sure, but it is marked well. It took me about two weeks to be able to glance down and know what time it was. It kind-of like going from digital to analog.
That is Beautiful rely appeals to me. Like the sort of watch a modern Time Traveller would wear,
Indeed, one for Dr Who!
That is another level of cool....but I came for the t-shirt.
Another great video! I wish people would stop calling Indian numerals Arabic numerals.
Dimensions are a bit large despite how it wears since it’s al dial it will look large regardless. A one year warranty shows me they don’t have much confidence in the durability IMO. It’s a pass for me since paying that kind of money for a Miyota is absurd since there’s no real complications here. Just a unique layout and set of hands. Great review mate and congrats on the collab.
Love it, but the Trappist remains my favourite.
All I can say is, WOW !
Great video
It suits you and would great if the lime lasted a little longer .
I feel like I need a quirky watch like this.
I like the Yolandi T shirt
Not my cup of tea but you have to take your hats off for the design and execution.
hope they’ll make a wall clock version.😅
Very interested in seeing a review on the Orient King Diver rerelease/reissue. Just saying 😏
So a leather strap on a watch that goes to 50m? How does that strap hold up to ocean water?
The bottom half of the dial could have been SO much better.
I have this Watch but my is the original one and it's very nice
