    It's good to be in Malaysia and create the odd travel vlog from somewhere new, Langkawi island! Today is a little bit of a travel day as we head to Langkawi and get settled into our hotel and explore the main Pantai Cenang, known as Cenang beach aka the most touristy spot on Langkawi island.
    🏠 Check out our hotel accommodation here: geni.us/W3GEsBf This is a great spot and that view is amazing! We spent a bit of time researching hotel options in Langkawi and decided with a scooter we'd have the freedom to travel around and would rather have our own space, away from Cenang beach.
    Speaking of Pantai Cenang - what a cool beach! Strange that it was quiet as you can see in the vlog, why? Yeah we actually don't know why. Maybe its just the time of year of our travel, maybe its just always that chill. Either way, this is the kind of beach setting we like, its busy but not crazy intense.

    Malaysia is a lot less touristy than its famed neighbours, and this together with its relatively modern facilities, it might be a more ideal destination for older people or a family trip.

    I am surprised they didn't weigh your carry on at the check in counter. That way, you would have had the opportunity to move stuff around. Lufthansa always asks about laptops and tablets, because they get an extra allowance, but then, that is just one airline.

    • @DanegerAndStacey
      @DanegerAndStacey  Před 5 lety

      Yeah thats the bit we kinda should have made more obvious, they purposely don't weigh your carry on until the very last minute (after you've checked in your bag) then point you towards the 'Payment Counter'... literally.

    Hello, Dane and Stacey! I’m from Bulgaria and I stumbled across your channel while you were uploading your videos from Sofia. Since then I have watched all your vlogs chronologically from the beginning and I have just caught up with the present! :D I wanted to tell you that you are my favourite channel and a real inspiration to travel and explore the world. Your videos from Europe are the ones that I love the most (maybe because it’s my home and it will always be close to my heart), but I adore Jerome’s footage from the beautiful beaches of Asia, and I must admit that I shed a tear at your endearing engagement video. You've developed so much from those first videos and I'm so happy that your channel is growing. Do you have any insider tips for Sofia? I'm going there from 1 to 6 May :D

    • @MissMushmul
      @MissMushmul Před 5 lety

      @@marikswa Well, it depends on what kind of a tourist you are, but I recommend taking the Free Sofia Tour as it is a great way to start exploring the city. If you do, make sure to be at the meeting point 10 to 15 mins early because there are no reservations and sometimes they can refuse to take you if the group is too big. If you want to try local food "Под липите" (Pod lipite) is the best place in my opinion. They also do theme nights with traditional folk dances, so make sure you have a reservation especially on weekends. If you are interested in history I recommend Regional History Museum Sofia. Tell me if you want to know more about other museums and galleries. You have 6 days so you can go on a daytrip to some beautiful places around Sofia. My personal favourites are Prohodna cave and Saeva Dupka cave, Rila monastery and Boyana waterfall. If you are looking for something out of the box, Sofia has some pretty good escape rooms. There is no problem with drinking in public so you could just grab a beer and spend a chill afternoon at one of the parks. We don't have Uber in Sofia and there are some taxi scams especially at the airport. Just don't go after some weird guys offering you taxis at arrivals. Go to a helpdesk or straight to the taxi stand or just use the metro - it's cheap and can get you to the city center in no time. If you have any specific questions, I will be happy to answer. :)

    Airasia’s baggage policy is ridiculous. It gets to us Malaysians all the time. As long as you can fit everything in a carry on bag, it should be fine. Weighing every bag is unnecessary. Grrrrr 😡
