More About No Man's Sky:
Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.
In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.
Play with all 10 major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship and Exo Mech.
An epic voyage to the center of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.
At the center of the galaxy lies a irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.
Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.
Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.
Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.
The galaxy in No Man's Sky is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

ATTENTION ALL NEW WATCHERS: This method has recently been HEAVILY nerfed
@Bob Ross I followed this, found a good activated indium plannet. set all my stuff up on hotspots, finished the farm, wired up and found i was gathering magnetised ferrite :( lol
idk why this happened, does the scanner indicate the hotspot material?
I see it now XD didnt notice that
How did they nerf it? Just lower the yield or what? Is it still worth doing if you add more extractors
How was it nerfed
the more extractors you connect to the collection lines the less it will generate
Can we all have a moment of respect for the only one willing to genuinely help new players rather than click baiting for views
where is Bob then? He made bunch of videos and explained them perfectly
This channel is literally my game bible. I'm really greatful!!!
Bob is great too!
No, it's actually misleading. How is it worth 949 units per 1?? In my game its only 165 units per one Activated Indium!

I have to give you almost all the credit for my progress. I've gone from having a B class shuttle and 300K units to having also an A class Hauler, S class Fighter, S class Freighter 4 frigates and still have 119 Million units left. Huge thank you for your videos.
@Hugh Cochrane I've had an exotic, don't really care for them, and I don't really care for the living ship either. Interesting but not my taste.
Thanks for the videos! I’ve put almost sixty hours into the game so far but yet I didn’t know any of this stuff and was still barely scraping by until I found your channel. Your content helps a lot! I’m going to work on trying to get some of this stuff up and running and see how it changes the game for me. Keep up all the awesome work!

Thank you for your videos Jason my friends and I started No Man's Sky about a week ago! You're vids have helped save us from the countless hours of grinding to make money. Just bought my third frigate thanks to you!
You can stack those EMP generators, one on top of the other like a tower, wire them up, and they still work fine.
So then, they don't have to be placed directly of the ground?
@@Screcy nope
Thank you for that info :D
You can also stack the mineral extractors on top of eachother. (Outdated)

This is insane much respect, man I loved the whole set up.
Great videos Jason, keep up the good work. Though you can't stack your extractors you can still build a platform over the previous ones and lay more extractors. I've been doing this for a while now.
If you didn’t also know you can sometimes go a foot or two underground to squeeze the full percentage out of mines and flatten the entire surface with the terrain manipulator for a clean work space.
You can stack the extractors and energy on top of each other forming a tower.
EDIT: As well as the silos
Thanks for the tip i will try it when I'm building my mineral farm
Definitely going to try that out. You lose a bit of the return right? As it gets farther away from the source it should lose efficiency
@@JasonPlaysNMS you can even put extractors in the clouds without loss ;)
@@JasonPlaysNMS farther away from the source is horizontal, you can go as high as you want, the center is a pillar, not a ball.

Started my first adventure into the world of NMS mining yesterday, I wish I saw this video beforehand. Also, thank you for making me realise that there was a "build cam" that I could use, and that you could stop a wire halfway and link another to the end to continue it. Thanks for the tips!
Welcome traveler! Jason makes good content for people starting out. I watched alot when myself and my missus started playing. Helped a ton. The game is actually great if you enjoy a chill minecraft style game in space with some actual decent writing.

Now this is an awesome and helpful video. Thanks Jason. 😁
Nice setup! I saw a S Silver farm the other night and they did something I thought a smart idea. They somehow arranged their storage containers so that they (or visitors) could pull silver from one "line" instead of doing a full on pull out of all silver. As a visitor, I appreciated the note to go offline if taking all resources so as not to interrupt their production. As a new player, I appreciated the note AND the sliver. Pretty cool of them!
Hey man, I started playing this monday lol and I loved your content. I'd like to know if is there anything I can dismantle to make iridium as we do with cadmium?

Great video, Jason! This is how I made it to the end stages of the game. I love my activated indium farm even though I don't really need it anymore. Something I like to do is stack the extractors directly on top of each other, either in a few big towers or in stacks of three in pretty lines. The reason is that you aren't moving too far away from the 100% (mine is also S class). I also stack the EMGs, and one of my projects today is going to be putting some strobe lights on the towers. With my current set-up, I just make stasis devices because I like to control my resources that way, but for the beginning, mining was the best thing I could have done. Again, great video! If any of you viewers see TallChewy in the Anomaly, lmk and I'll send you a stasis device if you want one.
How do you stack the extractors? I play on Steam and am having a heck of a time trying to stack them straight.
@@adambfree on PC you can use external programs, but I don't. One thing you can do is use walls to keep them straight and then just delete the walls.
A while ago someone gave me 5 stasis devices while I was on the Anomaly and I think it was TallChewy. I was pretty new to the game and had hardly any money. This allowed me to purchase my S Class hauler way sooner than I could have otherwise. So, Jeffrey Goodman, if this WAS you, then thanks! I almost have my own stasis device production endeavors in place and when I do, I will pay it forward for the next new players. Also, Thanks for the vids Jason!
Mike Johnson you’re very welcome. When you get your farm up and running, you might find yourself doing the same :)
Perfect. Thank you, sir. One creative thought. You could have mined something on a more benign planet to show us how to set up a small system first. You know, no bugs better visibility, no dodging the elements. Just a thought. That might make it easier for you.
Activated minerals are on extreme planets. So there's no avoiding the bad weather
I could have, but wanted to show the best possible outcome. You can definitely do this with other elements on serene planets, like magnitised ferrite for sure
@@JasonPlaysNMS I think you missed the point of his comment. His idea was that you could setup a fake mineral farm on a planet where you won’t have any distractions so you can get detailed with how it works and the setup.
@@devbrit2104 I have about 10 hours on no man's sky and it was still pretty obvious to me what needed to happen
You can put the extractors on floor panels and they will still pull stuff in.

Hey great video man, even if it has been nerfed. Good way for new players like myself to see how to set this stuff up without having any questions unanswered
I’m on a planet where I thought I couldn’t put my extractor at then I realized it’s just the colour of the planet makes everything look different so green is red and red is green lmao unless I gotta stop smoking 🤣
Nah bro psychoactives hit different when you play this game I 100% get what you saying.
Wow! Your doing good!!! :D
Well thank you!
Nice Video. If I remember correctly HG made it so you can place on floor tiles. I do know that the Supply Pipe now acts just like the Electric Wire, meaning you don't have to make it all in 1 go, you can start/stop and change direction.
Great help on this also you can stack the energy and gas extractors like a tower if you thinking of making a sky high base as well as needing about maybe 200 data if you haven’t unlocked the industrial stuff I still haven’t made one but I will soon
I got tired of 'Terrain Creep' on my early mines after flattening areas of land and having the ground grow back!. I now do the minimum clearing to get the extractors running and build platforms suspended in air for solar electricity and storage :-)
Steve Smith okay so terrain does still come back... bummer. Could you add terrain instead of subtracting it? Or does everything terrain related eventually go back to its original form?
@@NaughtyShepherd It seems to prefer bugging out over pre-existing terrain. I've added terrain outside of the perimeter of pre-existing terrain and that seems to stay.
@@NaughtyShepherd no it's just a glitch. My base is built in manipulated terrain so whenever I come back appears to have grown back for a little bit. Bit annoying but I'm pretty sure they're working on fixing it.
Did you know you can choose the vertical location of the hotspot? The highest concentration point appears wherever your retilcle is when you finish the final scanning for the hotspot, if you want it to be below ground to hide your mining equipment, just dig a hole when you're withing 6 meters (before it starts scanning) then when you scan make sure you're in the bottom of your hole when you finish the scan. The dot will appear wherever your reticle is when you complete the scan, so you can Have everything buried if you want or everything way up in the sky.
Thats a need tip!Thanks👍
That is awesome! I didn't know that
That just determines where the icon is, not where the highest concentration is... especially since concentrations are pillars, not orbs.
That location will move with the lowest point on ground. You can terraform up or down, flatten it, or whatever. That location won't and cannot be changed. Its just a giant cylindrical shaped allowing you to stack layers and recieve the same yield on each layer
Dang it!
Omg I couldn't stop laughing watching your video being sabotaged by xenomorphs randomly attacking, your reaction is priceless great video Jason :)
Thanks to you and your awesome video guides I now have an S-class freighter, six S-class ships and two S-class multi-tools :)
Also a sclass mineral deposit is the most common hotspot out of the three s class hotspots, and gas being the rarest. IIRC s class mineral is a 8% chance, and it could a stellar metal (indium, emeril, cadmium, and copper), plantery element (phosphorous, pyrite, dioxde, etc.) or magnetized ferrite and cobalt.
TL;DR, aa sclass mineral deposit is the most common, and s class gas deposit is rarest. and the mineral deposit have a 1/3 chance of being an activated idium hotspot.
I've found S class hotspots before but, it was never something I wanted. I did find an A class mineral hotspot approx 300 u from an S class electrical hotspot. I finally decided to look for an oxygen hotspot and it turns out there was a C class in the same area.
Yeah, that happens to me too, I founda s class mineral deposit, ut it was pyrite instead of ai.
It's was pretty rough finding a S Class activated Indium deposit, that's for sure. Feels like you do get more mineral deposits vs gas, but hard to find the perfect deposit
@@JasonPlaysNMS I know it's not perfect but, I found an A class silver hotspot and around 300 u away there was an S class electromagnetic hot spot. When I checked later I found a C class Oxygen hot spot actually closer to power. BTW the layout on those extractors looks good. Also, I have the extractors at the silver mine on wooden floor panels and they seem to work fine.
I found an Earth like planet with an S class electromagnetic spot and an A class activated indium one really close to where I landed, im really happy
“Very endgame thing” requires like 40 salvaged data and 2,000 nanites
Pretty easy to get. Salvage data can be farmed in the first few hours and the nanite isnt hard either when you know where to look.
I just started a new permadeath playtrough last week and im 20 hours in now and i got that stuff after the first 10 hours.
Damn it costs that much. I have got it but i didnt realise it was that expensive for indium drive
Reel Beenz no it costs like 400 but you have to get the other drives first
How i got that much idk
Reel Beenz talk to Helios and the npc across from him on the space anomaly. Go to space station rooms and alien rooms and go the things that give you free nanites and you can get some from broken technology
Thx for making a tutorial for new players, not for those who knows how all mechanics and systems works in the game.
Closest between power and metal i found so far is 584u. Bases are wide enough for that which really surprised me. I built a series of teleporter that take me from one end to the other in like 3 sec :) Teleporters range is 35 big floor pieces. I learned lots of new things because of your vids, thx
Right now my mining operation is producing roughly 42000 an hour, I'm just working on building up the storage so that it can hold up to 10 hours of material at once.
Should I build more depots atm? I got like 2k an hour atm and can hold about 12k indium right now, usually sleep about 5-6 hours and gone for work about 10
@@TylerAnderson-bh5kv i always recommend you do if you can, you'll make back the cost super fast.

How does he hold so much material in one exo suit slot
I didn't put down too many extractors but I put down a whole load of supply depots so I get a max "harvest" of 215k Activated Indium at a time and it takes 8 hours to fill. Everytime I get bored, I put down another platform of 6x8 Supply Depots lol.
Yes, unless you're visiting the farm every couple of hours, there's no point in putting down more than a few extractors... just put down loads of depots for when you return a day or three later.

The intro, straight to the point I like it lol
It’s sad to see this be nerfed so hard. Considering the work you have to do, they should just make this among the best money making methods in the game in my opinion. It’s cool, legit and fun. But no, you’re better off buying and selling chlorine or do some of the other glitches in the game. I still have a few farms, because they’re just fun and satisfying.
fax, i still look for farms even though u can get scanners that get u half a mill per scan for the fauna and animals, the chlorine method is cheesed as hell, and making a farm for activated indium is a shit show finding an energy source and a right location and trying not to die from the storms that always occur on the activated indium planets
you should mention that every time you sell the stuff, the market in the sell-system crashed and is down for... 3 days?
sell to ship pilots, rather than the galactic market.
@@gwouru Yep

I think the Galactic Trade Terminals at Trading Posts do not affect the System's Economy, as well.
Although, I am not 💯% certain. So, definitely check first before giving me a Thumbs Down. 🙃
Sell to pilots, build trade terminals in your bases, have several bases you can teleport between. Plenty of ways around crashing a system's economy.
Excellent tip!
I invested ~10M in materials and now I'm collecting over 100M each night when I load my game!!
Thank you so much I have been struggling to get units so much since I started
I found my first Activated Iridium S class deposit the other day. It was on the side of this mountain so steep the only way to go up was using the jetpack, and the planet is just jam packed with what are basically Mount Everest sized mountains over and over.
So as some of you reading this know, activated metals are always on stormy planets. So here I am fighting this torrential downpour as I'm constructing a mining tower, just minding my own business, and the words "Wind event" flashes across my screen. I thought...ok...so?
Fair warning. If you see those words get inside something immediately. A building, inside your ship, dig a deep hole and jump into it if you have to. Basically a tornado snatches me off the ground, then proceeds to spin me in circles, while beating my ass against the ground over and over again until I was dead. I was a piece of tissue paper in a wind tunnel lol.
I'm dying hahahahahhaa 🤣🤣🤣
@@kennethaguilar3778 legit jaw dropper. Even as uber-powered as my character is now, I still hide in terror anytime "Wind Event" shows on my visor lol.
@@toddmiller5322 hahaha, storms can be powerful, my planet is radioactive you can't survive 30 secs if you don't have uranium. I don't like the burning planets something doesn't feel right
I always make a building for the storage containers to go inside for a cleaner look. Also a power switch for the mineral extractors is nice. That way you can stop the ground from shaking if you ever want to add or change things later, I’m also pretty anal about making sure the supply pipes are all underground and out of site.
Personally I build platforms for the storage (either out of floors or foundations) but not whole enclosures. I kind of like the way a bunch of storage silos look next to my base.
That curse and spongebob reference got you a subscribed lmao
Thanks man found an s class activated indium spot next to a c class electric spot great video!
If you really want the maximum output, you can just make a 1x1 tower into space, on the center of the hotspot.
you can do the same thin with silos, to save some space and some supply pipes
It doesn't lose efficiency the farther you get from the surface?
No, it's like a cylinder into space, I think it stops at 1000u though.
@@JasonPlaysNMS pretty sure its a column that goes to infinity. not certain
@@SephFour exactly. Each time you build one it extends the "dome" limit of your base (originally 300u) near whatever you built outside of the limit. However, breaking the base limit only goes to 1000u so that's as high as you can build vertically.

jack horan I think you can get them from attacking freighters cargo pods. If you look at them, it should say what is in them. Shoot the ones that say salvaged frigate modules.
You can definitely do that, but you become a space pirate! You can get them from missions as well

@@robertshufflebottom8727 thanks for the help
you can also get them by looting crashed freighters, that you can find thanks to maps exchanged for navigation data by any active space station's cartographer

Does it still produce even when I'm not in the game or when I'm log out? Or it just stop producing when I stop playing?
It will still produce but be careful. Sometimes it will just disappear because the game is a bit glitchy about remembering what you have going on when it saves.
Jason Plays the whole farm disappears ?!
Toby_05 only if you don’t save it just hop in and out of your ship constantly or build a save point
I have a basic indium farm but it produces 35k ish indium so hopefully this helps
Normal indiu sells at half of the price of activated indium, so it's less efficient but easier to build, because it does not need to be located on an extreme planet.
Yep yep, definitely easier to build. I might do an oxygen farm as well because oxygen is sooo valuable for refining.
@@JasonPlaysNMS I wasn't going to start an oxygen farm because I kept enough buying it at space stations. It turned out I had a C class Oxygen hotspot at another mine I had started. It's not high output but, it keeps me enough for my uses.

Same. Wasnt paying too much attention to the title, but it piqued my curiosity
do the markets reset for you? or do you travel from system to system?
Cobalt stacks take up a lot of room and even with a 47/21 fighter and full cargo suit slots, I always need MORE storage. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve gotten over 1b units to date on cobalt, but looking to start an AI mine. Appears a lot faster and easier once it’s setup. Plus I love building mining farms! Have copper, which is great, and silver, which is unnecessary, but it was there. I suppose I could refine Nanites.

Tried to farm cadnium today. So much went wrong but i got going i hope, and will ve checking it when i get off work. This guide is so helpful even now. Thank you
Miners can go on metal floors 4 per plate and can go vertically, EMP can go vertical in a tower. Electric wires go 200u per length. you can build 300u from base computer 360° around. You can extent this out 50u at a go by building walls or metal archs as pylons up to 800u from base computer. You can reload and put wire in at a later date but Supply pipe needs to be installed all in one go if bring pipe from main Depot to supply tank near base.

@@liverpoololdschool don't worry about it, like previously said they can take from silos and harvest plants but most people wouldn't bother anyway, and if you are anywhere except towards the centre of a galaxy or the galactic hub then you probably will never have anyone find your base anyway, the galaxy is huge
