    Should look into ram pumps, sounds like exactly what your looking for, and they require no electricity. Wranglerstar has several videos of them on here. You say you have a hard time making decisions, I like to think of it as planning for the future. Nice job!

      we don't really get much of a deep freeze here. and the irrigation ditch is only seasonal, they shut it off in the winter months. BUT, its easy drained with the valves at the bottom.
