This has to be one of the most well written songs of this era. So much to it. The Haim sisters have seen a lot and they can orchestrate it back to us. Maybe I'm misinterpreting it but I feel this has many meanings behind it. Keep creating these beautiful songs and videos.
As someone that suffers from clinical depression and anxiety and having people constantly telling me to change my mindset as if it was an on and off switch, this song speaks to me on so many levels. I'm currently going thru a divorce (6.5 years of emotional abuse) and attempted to take my own life this summer. It's been a rough journey getting myself out of these dark times, but this song gives me so much hope. Every time I hear her say "and the rain keeps coming down along the ceiling" I tear up, I just hear the pain in her voice. Thank you so much HAIM! HAIM+ Paul Anderson has been a collaboration I never expected and never thought I needed. It's refreshing watching every HAIM music video he's directed.
When so many artists change their sound and lose who they were in the beginning, Haim upgrades and still keeps their traditional and recognizable sound. Not one song on their albums get skipped.
It was when they appeared on SNL for me. Interestingly, when I went to order their CD on Amazon shortly after their SNL appearance, Amazon recommended another CD based on what I was ordering. That is how I discovered Chvrches. The recommended CD was The Bones of What you believe.
It was their appearance in the Spring of 2013 on Letterman, complete with flirty banter, that put them on my radar, but yeah, the SNL performances later that year is what hooked me for good.

When I first heard this I thought it was good. After hearing it several times, and even a couple of times on Radio Newcastle (thank you Nick Roberts) I now think this track is brilliant, possibly the best thing out there for a long time. It was when they appeared on SNL for me. Interestingly, when I went to order their CD on Amazon shortly after their SNL appearance, Amazon recommended another CD based on what I was ordering. That is how I discovered Chvrches. The recommended CD was The Bones of What you believe.

It was their appearance in the Spring of 2013 on Letterman, complete with flirty banter, that put them on my radar, but yeah, the SNL performances later that year is what hooked me for good.
Saw them in concert in 2012; they were one of the bands that played during Mumford & Sons' festival tour. I've been hooked ever since.

When I first heard this I thought it was good. After hearing it several times, and even a couple of times on Radio Newcastle (thank you Nick Roberts) I now think this track is brilliant, possibly the best thing out there for a long time. I wish Haim would get the support and backing that they need to continue making the music they want to create and we can continue to hear masterpieces like this.
I can finally listen to this song without crying throughout the whole song. Too many things happened within in the last year and a half. Two deaths 6 months apart, post partum depression, and severe constant pain that no doctor can find out what it is. 2020 is no better. This song speaks to me.
