I know a lot of people will disagree but think we are going to be in a much better position with the structure behind the manager now. This kind of clean-cut decision-making and also playing the press is what we have been missing.
Klopp took way too much on with the club, we haven't had a good transfer window since Edwards and co left. I might be naive but have full faith that this new system will be exactly what we need. The squad needs a refresh and the players need a new journey, can see a lot of the players signed in the past two seasons being replaced and players like Salah (who would have been sold under Edwards last summer) being moved out

If we speculate however with the changing of the guard at LFC is it not possible this is/ was an opportunity to lay down a marker in LFC Negotiations approach? I>E> play it straight or we’re off! The Amorim camp dig themselves a 🕳️ for greed & drama in recent weeks around Ruben Amorim. You never put pressure on Liverpool especially FSG. What did Boston driver told you all them years ago Dunk, John Henry/FSG are "RUTHLESS" and Amorim camp have got themselves to blame not Liverpool/FSG. No matter if you like them or not FSG has done right thing here you've got to be honest. The Amorim camp will regret this even more than us knowing Amorim camp needed this move more than us.

When they both decided to take a jet and sent a picture out of them boarding to the jet to London, because they didn't get their own way from Liverpool meeting last weekend demanding £10m per year wages for Amorim and signing on fee. While agent may want apiece of the pie and also paying out his Sporting contract between £15m to £20m so adding all that up we could have been spending over £30m on one guy. It's not rocket science

@@KeepItRea7- Depends on the control element i think, if he feels that he will have no say then it may well be that he would like the situation better not the club better, however if he doesn't want them he's certainly walking a tight rope if he thinks that will force the club's hand. He may only have West Ham now as LFC have had enough of the antics but that's not always a good thing if you get the yes man at the helm which has not worked out for other clubs recently has it.
And yeah i think we are all a bit mad that's what makes the world go around! 😆

Think you are bang on the money Dunk- I think also there may have been issues with Amorim and his 343 formation not suiting our current set up ( interesting that slot is 4231 / 433 so would not need major surgery re centre backs ) that plus his excessive demands changed our minds and we targeted Slot. Just MY OPINION.. I think Dunk has suspected this situation well and been quite balanced on all sides from the day JK shocked us.. Personally, I will support whoever is the new boss except Jose!.. Just because his not a household name doesn't mean he won't do well and isn't a better fit for us (character wise), as one of my favourite traits of JK is that he is a salt of the earth type of fellow... It's important we give any manager some grace and room to develop (we're not like Chelski and the likes) .. ynwa!

Lots of conjecture from different sources. If FSG and the club identified Amorim as the best candidate, they should have hired him. Negotiations are just that, part of any hiring process. The CV of Slot isn’t very strong. Hope we aren’t making a big mistake.

Looks like being Slot, not impressed with what have heard about him. Basically threw the towel in before he went to Feyenoord and was sacked. Miles behind PSV this season. The only plus is he might get Van Dijk on side which will be important. Let's see how we look pre season. For his sake he needs to hit the ground running.

Obviously I'm gutted about tonight's result..
But given this manager debacle, I've decided to clarify some things.
Two years ago it was widely known that Erling Haaland was very interested in joining Liverpool from BvB. Klopp was very keen to get him. FSG baulked at the £75M asking price, RM weren't looking a striker, Barcelona had no money, Man City walked in and signed him for less than the release clause.
Last summer, Bellingham wanted to come to Liverpool. He was Klopp's number 1 choice. FSG refused to pay the £105M fee. Joined RM for £88M.
This year, M'Bappe is going to RM. He wanted to join Liverpool. Klopp wanted to sign him. FSG refused to get involved because his wages were too high, e en though there was no transfer fee involved.
I am fed up with these owners. They missed out on the three generational players that would have turned LFC into the continents Superpower. With no Arab money.
No wonder Klopp is walking.

I've tried to not get back into thee owners debate but reading your comment has got me back into it and I have to agree,in my opinion these owners don't won't Liverpool football club for anything other than we look good on there business plans and probably pull more investment from people that wouldn't be as interested as such. If klopp had been back even a little better than he has I believe pep nor any other manager in the league would have got near us for the last 6 season at least.

Edwards is also a knob if he's trying to get Amorim in on the cheap. If you want him, pay for him. Embarrassing that West Ham offered way more. I don't believe the numbers, Dunc, I do believe there's a deal to be done. The most important thing is to get the best man.

I hope Edwards isn't some cheapskate who thinks LFC are doing Amorim a favour as it's not the way to start what would have been a long, successful relationship. Only way Amorim can get any chance to get the LFC Job now is to sack his Agent, go to LFC with some humility, say "Sorry my agent has fucked me, he said to go in high and I want this job more than the money and I'll take 8 mil a year to start on a 3 year deal".
It was never about the money. The only problem I can see is in Portugal salaries are measured after tax, not before but any agent in the game would have known that.
