Bohumil Robeš became a member of an anti-communist group Sodan as a student of a high school in Brno, for which he was arrested by the communist regime at the age of 23. Later he was sentenced again for secret notes, refusing to work in prison and promoting the unification of Europe. In jail he spent 13,5 years, and for a considerable part of it was imprisoned in one of the most feared jailhouses of the time, Leopoldov. After his release, he worked as a freelance journalist for Czech Public Radio in Brno, and wrote poetry, novels, and newspaper articles. He published two books of memoirs, Čas likvidace (Liquidation Time) and Věčný prolog (Eternal Prologue), as well as a book of poetry Prosévání času (Time Sifting). He was in charge of the chronicle in his native Holubice for 25 years. At the age of 84, he still works as a regional chairman of the Political Prisoner Confederation.

His affect is very moving. I'm sure the story is wonderful to hear. I'm sure I would learn a lot. However the main thing I learned is that I don't speak, write, or, most importantly, understand Czech (and can barely spell the name of the language). Please excuse my ignorance and please, please provide a translator or subtitles. I would love know what he said. Thank you.
