I’m 60 years old and I must say, I’m so proud of these young men because of their boldness and courage to live in their truth. I feel their love for one another and it’s beautiful. Continue the work of encouraging men and women to be true to themselves.
I came out as bi to my family a few years ago, and my mom flipped out so badly that I ended a meaningful relationship with my girlfriend, and envied any LGBTQ person that was able to openly live their lives. It scared me for such a long time that I went back to pretending to be straight just to please them. Later on down the line once the quarantine hit, I was not only forced to be alone with my thoughts, but I came to realize that I was a lesbian, and was even more upset because of my past coming out experience. After coming out to myself last year, I decided not to come out to my mom again, and that she'll get the hint eventually. I decided that my life is my life, and my happiness is something I am no longer gonna deny myself. It's hard because I want that talk with her, but I know it's something that'll probably never happen.
I can’t speak on the subject and say that you have to ever have that talk with your mom and Shy with his dad. From my personal experience though, after telling my mom twice, and my dad still not knowing, i knew in order for me to have a complete peace of mind, i had to tell him. Honestly, when i told him, it wasnt an easy task because we used to get into physical altercations when i was growing up, but him being able to ask what he wanted to know, made the convo alot easier. Since i was grown, i was able to explain and express my feelings better. Once i told him, it lifted a weight off my shoulders that im not even sure how i was able to carry. It made our relationship better, and i think by making the effort to include them and by allowing them to ask questions, they are able to better understand and sympathize with you on how you feel.
I was 19 when I came out to my family and no it wasn’t easy but I knew what made me happy. I’m a proud, black gay man. My family accept it now and they deal with it. I love myself dearly.
I came out to my mother at age 19 my mother told that’s on you and you go and live your life , now at age 28 I’m still single , strong independent black man but at times I would love to to have a relationship with someone but it’s slim chances that I won’t but keep pushing and don’t let nobody tear you down
Please don’t give up. I’m 27 and I have not had a lasting relationship in my life but I know that I’ve got so much love to give and it could never be that there isn’t someone out there for me. So I refuse to fall but I’ll keep trying and hopefully one day I will find someone who is exactly what I deserve. So please keep on it🤍
I know this may sound mean and cruel, but if you are going to walk and live in your truth, sometimes you have to let people go who will not or choose not to walk beside you. It is very hard to put yourself before others particularly a parent or good friend. I just wanna say that you were outed, and your boundaries were crossed that should have been a conversation you had when you were ready to have. I’m so sorry you experienced this
I was thinking the same think. My story was like Sean's. Now, many years later I can see this but at the time, just like Sean, I went along with it (because it was true and things) but I was pushed out there. My parents (who probably already suspected) were upset and hurt. Several events eventually happened, where I just had to move out. Now, I was 22 years old, so it was time for me to move anyway. To make a long story short, he was my first lover, and the relationship was a violence one, build on lies and mistrust. BUT, even though, this was a "betrayal" by someone I loved, and nothing he could say to me could change that, it allowed me to move forward with being my true self and living for me. The apologize from Shy was very moving and required.
The fact that we still have to come out is sad. We are who we are. At the same time, I hope people watching your video understand that it’s never ok to out anyone. That’s not the other person’s story to tell. People have been tossed out in the street or worse because their family found out. I hope one day we won’t have to come out and that we can just say I’m dating so and so and that’s just that. I will say that when I came out to my dad, he didn’t take it well. But that was years ago and now he accepts me. But it took a long while. Hang in there.
The apology was very important because it allow for healing to happen on a very profound level. As you stated you never really talked about the situation afterwards and that's where we can fall short because. even though you are moving through life and it seems good there are things that are left in the dark that could come out and be destructive to you both individually and as a couple. It's refreshing to see young black men have honest dialogue with one another so that you can life one another up and truly love one another because what we experience in the world can be hard enough there needs to truly be a place of shelter and love. May your relationship continue to grow and evolve and may love continue to be your foundation first for self then for one another. If you continue this line of communication you will be good. I have been with my husband for 23 yrs.

It's clear you have love for each other, and i am glad the apology was made. I could see the hurt/resentment in Sean's eyes beforehand, that softened after Shy's apology. Just a note to straight, gay, bi, dl, lesbian, etc that what is done in the dark will eventually come to the light. Hopefully you can control the timetable to come out, but not always. I was outed on the job and was not prepared and depressed for quite a while afterwards. I would still go to work afterwards, but i would come home and sleep excessively until it was time to go to work again. Not a fun time, but I eventually got through it. I think it should be an individual's choice to come out, but sometimes you may be outed and will have to find a way to deal with the aftermath.
You said that's how i came out. Brother you didnt come out your dude outed you, that is a huge diffetence. Not being negative, just honest. New to your channel, it appears you guys have weathered that storm, i wish nothing but the best for you guys. This was special because i had a simaliar situation, my bf at the time ( i was in college) threatened to out me to my mom, i did not want her to find out like that so i was forced to tell her, needless to say it did not go well. Hi guys it’s hard it’s really hard we did enjoy the video well I’m 50 and still not out fully just one or two close friends but nobody else no family members they may question why I’m still not married at this middle age but I think it’s not something they dwell on . What I don’t have is a pardoner I’m from Guyana which is a small third world country in South America. Things are done very different here it’s almost as homophobic as Jamaica they are some changes but still plenty of work there to be done when it comes to the Lgtbq community. I’m sitting here listening to you guys especially the trip in Jamaica I don’t know what I would have done if that was how I had to come out . Don’t know if I would have survived. It sends shivers up my spine just thinking about it. You guys are brave and I admire you for that.

i hate when these situations happen. I love both of your stories, i hate that your family had to find out while you were celebrating your birthday, i dislike when your're in relationship and your partner is pushing you to come out when you both know the deal and have a understanding, Him telling your homegirl, def wasn't a slip up then he says you should go tell your mom. Another reason why i feel like he did it on purpose , if your're already having a moment already why try to possibly create another scene, instead of waiting until you get home and enjoy the rest of your birthday. You went to the room and he saw the opportunity, not knowing if your family was going to give up major backlash, if you wasn't going to do it then he was. Lol his face expressions during your story time is crazy bro..(like hurry up please), . Drinking or not you knew what you were doing, i've been drunk before & i had full control over everything and you're just now apologizing !! Coming out is tough and not everyone has the guts to do it and I know for a fact if I were to come out would lose my entire family in a heartbeat so for me its not an option. I will say your coming out story touch me and God doesn't make mistakes and he loves us all.
Do not deny yourself. At least you know how those people really feel. Straight people say that all the time not knowing the person they are saying that too is gay.

Honestly I first felt like shooting darts in Shy's face direction but No ! we can't do that ! his gesture is more of courage rather than of treachery : cannot blame him for being that bad bitch that just gets what he wants no matter what ! Sometimes the price to pay is drama : you still have to do what you have to do, like a bad Bitch to get what you want, like you drunk and just don't give a fuck about people blocking your way to succes ... the apology will come after as a coping mecanism if necessary. but you can't apologize for getting what belongs to you! Guys coming out is not easy to do. But when you're ready to do it you'll know when it's time is for your safety and constable to do it on your time. Some come out early and some come out letter in life. Cuz it is really scary out here.
Jamaica. Very deadly place for non-straights. South Africa is about the best place for LGBT+ . Good for your man to apologize to you. Cool your affectionate towards each other. Rarely see it real, non T.V. couples.

Hi guys it’s hard it’s really hard we did enjoy the video well I’m 50 and still not out fully just one or two close friends but nobody else no family members they may question why I’m still not married at this middle age but I think it’s not something they dwell on . What I don’t have is a pardoner I’m from Guyana which is a small third world country in South America. Things are done very different here it’s almost as homophobic as Jamaica they are some changes but still plenty of work there to be done when it comes to the Lgtbq community. I’m sitting here listening to you guys especially the trip in Jamaica I don’t know what I would have done if that was how I had to come out . Don’t know if I would have survived. It sends shivers up my spine just thinking about it. You guys are brave and I admire you for that.

i hate when these situations happen. I love both of your stories, i hate that your family had to find out while you were celebrating your birthday, i dislike when your're in relationship and your partner is pushing you to come out when you both know the deal and have a understanding, Him telling your homegirl, def wasn't a slip up then he says you should go tell your mom. Another reason why i feel like he did it on purpose , if your're already having a moment already why try to possibly create another scene, instead of waiting until you get home and enjoy the rest of your birthday. You went to the room and he saw the opportunity, not knowing if your family was going to give up major backlash, if you wasn't going to do it then he was. Lol his face expressions during your story time is crazy bro..(like hurry up please), . Drinking or not you knew what you were doing, i've been drunk before & i had full control over everything and you're just now apologizing !! I'm glad to see yall made it through it, it was a very selfish move- I wouldn't have had anything else to say to him for the rest of the trip.. I've seen plenty of situations like this, the dude dating a guy and a female and the guy makes his business to tell her . At the end of the day YOU Don't have to come out, if your're in a relationship with someone that's out , they can't force you to be out because that's how they chose to live..

Honestly I first felt like shooting darts in Shy's face direction but No ! we can't do that ! his gesture is more of courage rather than of treachery : cannot blame him for being that bad bitch that just gets what he wants no matter what ! Sometimes the price to pay is drama : you still have to do what you have to do, like a bad Bitch to get what you want, like you drunk and just don't give a fuck about people blocking your way to succes ... the apology will come after as a coping mecanism if necessary. but you can't apologize for getting what belongs to you!
