    This is a detailed review of an excellent aquarium light that is great quality for a great price point.. It has a lot of features for a great price.
    It comes with a 8 foot cord
    The light lasts for 30000 hrs which is about 7 years at 12 hrs a day.
    The light specs are awesome that meet all requirements that your fish and plants need

    The LED 'revolution' has taken nice lighting from a super expensive item to one of the cheapest pieces of equipment. Gotta love em. I can replace much stronger LED fixtures for less than I used to pay for high strength bulbs and they're much cheaper to have turned on. I actually just ordered a Hygger the other day and unfortunately it arrived without the power supply piece included. Hygger support got back to me within an hour and has already shipped a replacement piece without asking a single question except my shipping address, so I should have it tomorrow. As long as it shows up, that's quality customer support. Just to put in my experience.

    Have had 2 3' and 2 4' of these running for a couple years now. So far running great, medium light requiring plants growing very well, no issues with the driver, not affected by spray or a couple quick accidental drops into the tank.
    My ONLY criticism: the sensor is annoyingly sensitive and sooo many times I've accidentally adjusted the light without seeming even to have even touched any of the buttons. Easy to set back, but annoying nonetheless.

      Hi there
      Thanks so much for reaching out.
      To be totally honest one of my two lights like that does the same. It was working great then just a month ago started to turn on abruptly. The other works perfectly.
      I have heard of others having the same issue
      It should not matter if you use the am pm setting or the 24hr setting but you can try.
      You can always clear it and try to refresh it.
      I prefer their 24/7 light. It slowly comes on throughout the day then goes through a moon phase at night .

  • @ejbrinegar
    @ejbrinegar Před 2 lety +1

    Dear Mr. and Mrs. Stubbings:
    I use NICREW LED lights on most of my tanks. I haven’t found the cords too short, but I only put tanks next to outlets. I can see where, in a fish room, longer cords would be necessary.
    It would be lovely to have a CZcams Channel popular enough to get companies like Hygger to send me free products for review. My subscriptions fluctuate below 400, so I don’t expect any, such offers.
    My, newest NICREW light has the ramp-up and ramp-down option, but I don’t use it. I’d have to reset it, each time I unplug the light. Since I often do so, to shoot videos, I simply keep the light on a separate timer. But, I have a lamp, on a timer, which comes on before lights out and goes out, afterwards, to prevent startling the fish. The tank receives daylight before the tank light switches on.
    Thank you for sharing your, fine review of this, terrific product.
    All my best,
    Sincerely,
    E. J. Brinegar

    • @stubbsaquatics6080
      @stubbsaquatics6080  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks E.J.
      As you can see I use 3 Nicrew. 2 of my cords are extremely short. They are very hard to work with
      On this model of Hygger the slow on and off work perfectly and I don't need to reset.
      Some lights work better.. it's nice to feel comfortable .

  • @FishRfun
    @FishRfun Před rokem +1

    My 15g fluval flex has the led RGBs, but currently I'm just using on my 55g the lights that came under the hood. They're just white LEDs. I bought some glass hoods that need to be cut about a 1/4inch on both sides to fit. I bought the hygger 957 lights but they're just sitting here until I cut the glass on the hoods. A friend of mine says under the right light, unsure what color light, my denison barbs yellow spots on their tails will glow, so I'm looking forward to trying out some new colors. My amazon frogbit is struggling a bit so I don't think the stock lights are strong enough anyway. Plus they're in a plant corral in the middle of the tank so there's no light directly above them. There's too much water surface movement to let them float freely about. I wish the hygger 957 had an app to control the lights like the fluval flex has the remote. I'm going to be setting up a new tank soon...either 32g or 45g, and I'm planning on keeping furcata rainbows and threadfin rainbows. What would be, in your opinion, a good centerpiece fish/es. I already have angelfish in my 55g so something else. I live in Florida with really hard water and ph 8.0

    • @stubbsaquatics6080
      @stubbsaquatics6080  Před rokem

      Hi there, my water is very hard too. As far as the light being the 957. It's a pretty good light, but I would probably recommend the 24 /7. I think that's probably my favorite simply because you have your choice of 8, 10, or 12 hours at whatever strength you want between. If I remember right 2550 75 and 100 100 or if you go the 24/7 it's about 80% at the maximum but it it goes on slowly throughout the day and you get your morning lights with the red. Then in the evening you get more of again a sunset and then finally it ends in a blue moonlight. There is a new light out there with a remote. It's available in the states but not in canada so you could get it. Your rainbows will be beautiful. I've had thread fins before. Very very small mouth so and they're really shy and skittish but I do like them. They are jumpers home man, but you've got a great lid for yours. I mean if you're just going to have a rainbow tank that would be pretty amazing and you might be able to get some small schooling Tetris in there that would be pretty nice. I'm kind of partial to the blood thin or the rummy nose tetra. Both of those are not aggressive and also have relatively small mouths and will accept the hard water that you have in Florida. I take it your it's the calcium in your water as is in ours but for various different reasons. Being that I'm really biased on Barb's, I am a huge fan of the Aurelius. Barb, they are just amazing and as a ray finned or a filament Barb They would probably be a really cool addition, especially give him the thread fin look. Then you've got the ref end or filament which would give you a different look and angle but a similar thread like finish just in a different spot obviously?

    I just got this same LED light, 48” 72W, 2nd hand. (Saw on top a trash can when driving by)
    My question is have you had any issues with power supply?
    Noticed when I plugged up mine, majority of the white LEDs dimmed out when percentage is increased 💯. Read reviews stating the power cord with the inline amplifier needs to be replaced, averaging 12-18 month life span.
