- The Georgetown Hoyas dominated the Creighton Bluejays, 73-48, to win the Big East Tournament. Head Coach Patrick Ewing becomes the first player and coach to win the Big East Tournament. This is the Hoyas' first Big East title since 2007.

Big John would’ve been proud. This game reminded me of those Ewing era teams with the suffocating defense and dominate rebounding. It seemed that almost every Creighton offensive trip down court ended up as a Hoya rebound. A perfect game and a great tournament for Georgetown.

My oldest nephew and Mom have been making an annual trek from Chicago to DC so that my nephew could attend the G'Town boy's basketball camp since he was 9 years old. Even when JTIII was let go Big John and Pat Sr. have been awesome. Pat Jr. and the rest of the staff have treated my family with nothing but love and respect, so when they won my senior citizen mother jumping up and down rooting for the Hoyas (along with Illinois and Loyola-Chicago) was memorable.

I haven't been this excited for hoya basketball in decades!!! And what a beautiful way to celebrate Big John's legacy. This is going to be such a sentimental tournament for me, I never met Big John or Patrick, but my bestie-at-work (at GU) had been the team secretary in the 80s; she never understood the hugeness of American pro sports, she genuinely loved and "stanned" John & Patrick for who they really are.
The Georgetown game was a recruiting video. If you're a big man and offered a chance to learn from the best, don't even think a second----accept!!!!!!

Uconn fan here. The Big East was the Little East for a short while (well not quite, Villanova did win two titles, after all), so game can be an example of continuing this great conference back to the good old days.
