- Inspirational and motivational is how Educating Yorkshire star Musharaf Asghar is described when he delivers his keynote speeches. Almost a decade ago Mushy, who is now 26 won viewers’ hearts as a student with a stammer on the hit Channel 4 programme. He was in year 11 when the blockbuster show was filmed and has reflected on his life since leaving school.

You can still hear hints of the stammer but he has incredible control over it. I love this so much

I remember when Educating Yorkshire when it first came out and when I saw the episode based around Musheraf and Mr. Burton, I instantly knew he [Musharaf] would overcome his stutter and knew that Mr. Burton would continue to be a positive influence on him!

My jaw dropped hearing him speak so fluently. This guy speaks with better cadence than me or most of my friends.

Ah I thought they'd have had Mr Burton in the studio, I wanted to see them hug! Legends though the both of them. I've struggled with my speech at times and seeing Mushi be so open about it and make such progress is inspiring.

wow! this was so inspirational and very empowering ,we all need abit of mister burtons positive outlook and stratergy the education system would do well with showing some teachers how positive motivation can improve the whole outlook on a childs whole development within education
Trust me, the teachers know, almost everyone goes into the profession for the right reasons! The workload is incredibly heavy though
