If I needs 10 stop nd filter this win won’t work right?
Thanks for your helpful content. In terms of quality when shooting a video, how does the Freewell V2 VND + CPL compare to the Haida CPL+ VND?
Thanks for the comment. I have never used the Haida filter so I can't say what the difference is. But if I can get my hands on a copy i'll compare them.
Hi ! Thanks for your helpful video ! It seems to be a lose of sharpness with this filter in your sample photos in the video, do you notice that on your photos/videos in daily use ? Thanks again
You bring up a very good point I should have mentioned in the video. Note to self* I'll link my blog post with sample shots below. It's not a loss of sharpness caused by the filter it's a loss of sharpness from the lens due to shooting at a wider aperture. For example with no filter I have to shoot at f5.6 but with the ND filter on I have to open up the lens to f2. So the depth of field is narrower and generally lenses preform better when stopped down. In real life use with this filter I haven't noticed any loss in sharpness in images.

@@vaskoobscura_ thanks for this complete and fast answer, it makes sense yes 😊 I'll take a look to your blog post tanks ! 😁
Do you know of a matte box I can use with this? The screws don’t clear the 2 matte boxes I own. Would love to pair this lens with a matte box…
Not sure I don't own any matte boxes. But I can say that the screws do come out. There is enough friction in the rings that they won't turn on their own. You could set the filter how you want it than take out the screws.
Doesn't work with the Smallrig lite one. But there is a Freewell matte box available.
What are the step of rings called on the freewell site?
I believe they were called base rings.
They’re not waterproof however. Big negative for me as I shoot quite a bit at the ocean and waterfalls. otherwise, they seem near perfect to me. Oh, they also need to add a light pollution filter to their lineup.
Thanks for the comment. I had no idea the filters are not waterproof. I guess even if your lens is weather sealed water getting behind the filter will muck up your shots.
big negative about this filer is that it's not compatible to lens hoods & matte box
True. The bigger ring on the filter makes it impossible to use with lens attachments.
the problem is that it goes from 3-7 and not 2-5 (or 1-5).. so maybe too ''dark'' at the minimum
That's the issue I had with it too. I prefer a ND 1 or 2 when shooting indoors. Bur for outdoor use it's great. It all depends on what you shoot. Thanks for the comment.
@@vaskoobscura_that's a problem, because i can't find magnetic alternatives :/ just the Freweel K2 but it's not a run and gun equipment, it's too big
@@kaneda8625 I personally don’t mind screw on filters. They get the job done and cost less.
