I sooooo love armchair quarterbacks. This couple was cute; they had a sweet vibe about them. They understood research, worked hard for what they wanted and got it. Good for them.
What a sweet sweet couple! I was so nervous for them ! Especially the husband, he was trying so hard not to get excited but you could see how much he loved that house and how excited he was that his wife loved it as well . It was so fun seeing them get excited when it worked out
It depends on the market. It can be more expensive to buy in one town and state than in another. I believe this couple lives in Denver, if I remember correctly. It's more expensive there. In California that would only buy a tiny, shabby, 40 year old fixer-upper.
What is the deal with popcorn ceilings? I like them, why are people so against them? As for this couple, if that extra 30 dollars a month means you can't go eat, you are getting WAY more house then you can afford.
With popcorn ceilings, I guess it's personal preference. I really don't like them. I think they started in the 1950s or 1960s. It was the standard for a lot of residential places and it's one way to hide imperfections. Great if you're a landlord, I suppose. I just find it to be a cheap cover up. You don't notice stains/problems immediately. I live in a rental and every time I go to remove cobwebs near the ceiling with a broom, I end up with white pieces to clean up off the floor. Back in the 1970s, the popcorn contained asbestos and even though that's no longer the case, other people may dislike them because of the association.
I was so stressed out for them until I realized that they are a couple with a dog wanting a huge 4-br house! Just keep it simple and don't live beyond your means.
People who have a big master suite, tell me: Is it worth it? I can't understand devoting a huge amount of house to a room I'm sleeping in. When I'm awake, I almost never go into my bedroom: I get up, get dressed, make the bed and don't return to that room until I want to go to bed at night. So why devote huge real estate to a room that I'm only spending awake time in for about 30 minutes a day? Give me that space in a kitchen with an eating area or a living room or some room I'll actually spend time in when I'm awake, and my family and guests can spend time in while they are awake. So if you have a big master suite, do you spend a lot of time in there? Do you use a seating area in the bedroom? (When I go to my bedroom, I go to bed. If I want to sit, I sit in the living room or some other daytime room.) What advantages am I missing?
I totally agree. Living space way more important than huge bedrooms. When we were looking our priorities were a large kitchen. We live in Toronto--houses are typically 2 story semi Victorian/Edwardian. Washrooms small, closets are tiny. Houses long and about 20 ft wide. We took down the wall between kitchen and dining room, put a transom window over french doors looking out into backyard. Makes kitchen look huge, although it's really not.
@@mikedrumm1396 I’m happy to hear that you now have three children. You seem like a really nice couple and your wife is lovely. She has a great smile and beautiful hair. Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones! Best wishes.
They are exhausting. That realtor has the patience of a Saint.
I believe in living within my means.
I love that they give them a housewarming gift. I wish this show was still on and had new episodes.

If you can't find a suitable house with a $400K budget, then something is wrong with you...

They have looked at over 100 houses, and they found only 2 to make an offer on? Sheesh...
don't always believe everything you see on "reality tv"
@@mikedrumm1396 but you said it ?
I noticed that they said they changed realtors. Maybe the first realtor dumped them? I would be exhausted.

popcorn ceilings are outdated and gross to clean
I don't spend a lot of time staring at ceilings so I don't care if they've got pop corn. Puzzled why people give a hoot.
had seen 100 homes then changed Realtors.

OMG I don't understand why these people would buy houses that they can't fucking afford!!!! Buy what the fuck you can afford!!!!!
She’s an art collector but she hates dusting. He’s looking for negative things to say.
No he was not (just kidding).
You are not a house owner until pay off the mortgage. Your bank owns the house.
krotsin Kill the bank, then you own the house!
To much house for two people, unless she has a housekeeping service she's going to hate cleaning it. It takes all day to clean a house that big.
It may just be the two of them now but having a family is likely why they are looking for a house like this in the first place
we bought the house to raise a family. We now have three kids and a home office.

@@mikedrumm1396 does that mortgage payment include the taxes just curious
Why would they do a 80/20 loan?!? It would've been smarter to get a 30 year loan, then refinance in 5 years to a 15 year loan.
to avoid mortgage insurance
If you cant afford closing costs you can't afford the house. And i wonder how they did it with one income when she had the kids.
i actually like the turquoise cabinets im weird :l
Thatgirlwiththemanyotps Definitely a different look, but I love them too.

Those interest rates are really high!!
