    Pedro would've loved being on the same couch as Sarah Michelle Gellar. He had fond memories of Buffy when he appeared on the show back in the 90's. It would've been a great reunion.

      Yeah, nobody wants to swerve Helen Mirren. But when there's eight cameras pointed at you and Helen Mirren says you *have* to swerve, then you definitely *have* to swerve.

      @@growlerthedog Well, yeah.... cause on one hand, one does not just swerve Helen Mirren.... but on the other, one DEFINITELY does not say no to Helen Mirren. 😆

    • @terriegilley6574
      @terriegilley6574 Před rokem

      @@growlerthedog in all fairness I understand both points. She told him to swerve on her and he says there is no way he can do that. He did swerve a little and kissed her cheek but he did warn her that he would never be able to swerve on her. Yet she says to do it anyway. So there was a compromise on his part. I'm sure so many would have done the same. It's Helen Mirren.

    Congrats on Brendan Fraser, Salma Hayek and her fake mexicano accent? c'mon! who iwas she trying to please? she may have been living in the us longer than she did in MX

    • @oceanspitfirefly
      @oceanspitfirefly Před rokem

      you know her personally for years to know her accent I'd fake? I know of many examples of people who have come from elsewhere and lost their accents within a couple years,while one of many other examples an elderly Irish lady has been in the country for over 30 years and still such a strong brogue. Salma Hayek had major issues with discrimination when she first got into acting, that pigeonholed her towards maid and servant type roles. So she either worked on ditching the accent to avoid being discriminated against, and then got it back to embrace her roots, or she never lost it in the first place. Fake Mexican accent?she's Mexican so I'm confused how you think a Mexican would be faking a Mexican accent. Case in point, Henry Cho is an American stand-up comedian born in Texas, 2nd generation Asian. His accent is Texan. If he spoke with an Asian accent talking to you by all means call that accent fake. Salma was born in Mexico. and grew up primarily in Mexico. Period.

    Since when a bulletproof vest is considered ''art''??? For our soldiers, journalists, and volunteers in the hot warzones in Ukraine this is vital NECESSITY. Otherwise you'll die. People DID die when they did not have or gave their vests away to other people. It's so great to know that someone exploits the theme of war and survival for ''art'' while for us in Ukraine it's a matter of life and death.

    • @lkpunk18
      @lkpunk18 Před rokem +2

      I don't disagree with you. But the Banksy look was from years ago

    • @KaiserSoze679
      @KaiserSoze679 Před rokem +6

      First of all, I want to be clear that I meant no disrespect here for everything your country is going through. I fully support Ukraine and would not in any way seek to diminish its suffering.
      That said, think about that rationale a bit more broadly. Do you have any idea how much art is inspired by, or invokes, themes that are dark, or painful, or otherwise negative? Hell, just in war alone we're talking hundreds if not thousands of important movies, books, songs, paintings, photographs, etc. that shape art history. You call it "exploiting" that theme because you currently feel like you're on the other side of it - but art has always been about capturing the human experience, especially at it's most vivid, dramatic, etc. Art like that quite often HELPS people deal with complicated emotions, grieve difficult losses, or even just not feel so alone.
      Hell, just to use myself as an example, I struggle from a major disability that seriously impacts my mental health, and have seriously contemplated suicide many, many times. If it weren't for art that deals with difficult topics like that, I might not be alive right now - but through art I saw that I wasn't alone, and was reached out to by artists that had been in similar places.
      I know that it can be tempting, especially in really overwhelming circumstances like this one, to sort of project your immediate surroundings onto others and see something like this as "Well what does that say about the situation I'm living in right now?" and that might make it seem insensitive - but that's not how it works. Not every time someone acknowledges concepts like war or violence or weaponry is a take on the Ukraine conflict, and it's certainly not an exploitation of it. Those are just part of the human experience, and thus things art has an interest in exploring.
