Being someone who spent hours on making real-ish fighters in ksp 1, the fact that we’ll be able to make them look this good in Ksp 2 brings me so much joy.
The procedural wings do wonders
It does look amazing but there’s something nice about using building techniques in ksp1 to produce accurate fighters ygm
First thing that I made in ksp2 - replica of su37. I was amazed at how easy it was!

Very small nitpick, but the elevators are slightly angled downwards in the real plane. Overall it looks absolutely gorgeous.
passive stability is a hoax
Real thing doesn't even have elevators though, stabilators ftw.

Why is it slightly angled?
@@zh2912 Probably so it makes more downforce at default angle of attack. However them being stabilators the angle they're pointing is completely dependent on the current trim setting. So other reason for the angle could be that the popular photos are with a certain trim setting (for high pitch → low speed, probably after a landing or trimmed for takeoff)
(this is just my speculation, I do not possess an F-16 type rating)
This urges the introduction of procedural nosecones. The F-16 just doesn't look the same without the saggy snoot.
Quick Tip. In the Utility Tab along with the reaction wheels, there is a part that will look better when you replace the frontmost part of the nosecone with it. It also adds a bit more control to the craft
The flying? Impeccable. The rockets? Awesome. But this bomb drop... THIS is impressive 6:40

You can turn off stabilization to make the wings and control surfaces stop moving on their own

You can disable pitch on ailerons so only the elevators are used for pitch
I’ve spent days and days recreating irl fighters, rockets, bombs, missiles ect In Ksp1. Looks so so much easier now

One tip I have is the turn off engine gimbal because in KSP 1 it made things a hole lot more maneuverable

its been trapped in ksp2
Hopefully in the finished game we wont be seeing that many vortices, as they look pretty strange with too many hidden wings.

One thing u missed: irl vipers' stabs have a slight anhedral!

pov ksp is multiplayer and this thing modified into a space plane shows up just after you built your brand new space station
Type of build that should require Free Bird to be played every time it's flown.

Is it just me or do planes seem to fly a bit smoother in KSP2? Most gameplay I've seen seems to be significantly less jerky.
btw its actually called fighting falcon. viper is what pilots called it.

Loved the video @RoBossBomb! Can't wait for the next video man! That is a pretty Decent Build of an F-16C "Viper" Fighting Falcon for KSP 2! Would love to see you try some of the Other Jets like the F-15C Eagle or the E Strike Eagle, the Eurofighter Typhoon, Panavia Tornado, or even the Su-24 Fencer and Su-27 Flanker in KSP 2!
Maybe give the Boat Dock a try and see how well things go from there.

Gotta be honest ksp 2 is pretty damn good when it comes to planes, atleast when they dont just randomly explode
The F-16:s horizontal stabilizers are canted 10 degrees downward
Doesn't having parts clip through each other just add a lot of extra weight? Because it uses the full weight of each part?
Yes it is heavier but you can also drain the tanks to prevent to much mass
The main thing slowing this down are the missiles which produce a ton of drag and aren’t light either
Ight but when I make a body that overlaps hella like this mine just explode or fold in on its self, resulting in me having to strut everything together

@@robossbomb0000 There aren't any, you just ctrl+c while holding the assembly, upload your clipboard to pastebin or something, and other people can copy and paste the code into their own VAB.

Wonderful build but is there any way to just slightly upscale the engine? It's slightly too small and looks slightly underpowered
KSP 2 doesn’t have any scaling features so not really

How fast could it go? The viper is known for its maneuverability at high speeds
Missiles slow it down a bunch but without them it’s speed isn’t bad

The game right now is quite buggy and badly optimised but imagine this in the future with multiplayer and a mod similar to BD Armory

I feel like jets in KSP 2 a little bit underpowered. Too slow for F-16! (But it's not fault of RoBoss of course)

Unpopular opinion.. im not a fan of the wing tip vortices. They arnt realistic and there are like 40 of them with complex wing structures :/
