Proof of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya? Prof. B B Lal on Ramayana site archeological survey and Babri Masjid

- Prof. B B Lal, Director Project: Archeological survey of Ramayan Sites speaks about the Babri Masjid. He says: "To the rest of the Babri Masjid and one to the south of the Babri Masjid, our trenches were hardly two meters away from the outer wall of the Babri Masjid so in fact almost touching it."
Now here is the photograph of the Mosque and the trench on the western side, this is the wall of the Mosque is of course the peripheral wall. Now from here, downwards we have different levels. The early medival levels, The uttar levels, the kushan levels, shunga levels and further to 3rd, 4th century BC. In the deep trench here which you cannot see right now we went further down about 7 or 8 feet and in the lowest level in the sense we found materials such like the northern polished layer and other things which go back to about seven hundred before Christ. This is the lowest deposite and this probably is the time of Lord Rama because similar evidence comes from other places like Shringverpur, Bhardwaj Ashram, Chitrakoot which are associated with the Rama story and a similar trench was put on the southern side of the Mosque where again we went to the 7th century BC level conforming what we get on the other side.

If Baber demolished Ram temple, it would have definitely mentioned in Ramcharita manasa written 50 yrs after the construction of Babri masjid.

A very convincing argument...I saw the Akhuwatul Islam mosque as a boy and we saw the sculptured pillars inside which seemed very odd to me as kid visiting from Pakistan.
Islamically the mosque should not be built on disputed land, nor this mosque has any connection to any religious history in Islam. Now even the other 2 mosques need to be handed back in Mathura and Varanasi.

Dr B.B Lal was a great archaeologist and he made many great contribution in the field of archaeology and I feel proud to say that he was from University of Allahabad and currently I'm reading from the same department he had read and taught
Regardless of whether there was a temple or not, Muslims for the sake of national brotherhood can gift the land to Hindus and strengthen the trust and bridge relationships between communities. Muslim leaders should think constructively and lay off any claims on the disputed land as long as Muslims are allowed to pray elsewhere and construct new Masjids when needed.
I am glad to be watching this 2020 when we have finally begun building a grand Lord Ram temple at its rightful place.
If I would have been the Judge of Supreme Court, I would have passed orders to hand over the following places to Hindus for building temples.
1. Ram Janmabhumi Babri Masjid

Exacavation carried out Dr B R Mani in 2003 (after demoltion of Babri Masjid) revealed the deepest layer was not 7th cent BCE but belonged to 17th cent BCE. Dr Mani's report also says that the site was used as reigious site not before the Gupta period. Earilier layers were 'habitational sites'.
So, Dr Lal's claim that the deepest site was of Lord Rama's time is without much merit. He had been an icon in his own field and I have huge respect for him. I agree with all other observations made by him in this documentary.
Historians/Archaeologists are also human beings with human emotions.

before claiming 700 bc as time of lord Ram please do some basic research. archaeology, astronomical observation in the epics, hydrology and many more other streams of investigative science reveal anywhere between 7500 to 12000 bc. a good starting point is some groundbreaking work done by Nilesh Oak

If it is several centuries old archeological site, and the existing structures over it is already been destroyed..no other structures should be allowed to be built over this archeological treasure..!!
It should be properly excavated completely and every trace of archeological history must be preserved as it is and proper studies and research should be conducted to unravel as much historical facts as possible..!!
There are so many archeological sites preserved and still being excavated and researched all over the world and are open to public as archeological sites without political or religious agenda.. but alas in India, political parties make it a political and religious agenda to win elections and plan to cover archeological historical treasures by building more structures over it..!!!

It's not about temple or masjid there are lakhs of temples and masjid in India ,but the birthplace of lord Ram is one that is in ayodhya , ramkot hill where the Babri masjid exists ,so birthplace of lord Ram is non negotiable , because Mandir will be built where it existed because birthplace can't be shifted

RAM lived 35000 years ago. He ascended from this plane. Yes the evidence of a mosque built upon a pre existing Ram-temple is undisputed. But it is not the evidence of Ram-Janmbhoomi. There are more than 70000 Hindu temples where one can prove that a mosque was built upon. How many are we going to rebuild? Can we put this issue to rest once and for all, so that we can focus on infrastructure development and economic growth of our country. Enough blood has been spelt in the name of RAM. No wonder....RAM will not come back to Indus.
