I find myself engaging in conversations more frequently with family, friends and even people in passing and many are intrigued as to why I'm choosing to uproot from the U.S. What I'm finding is that as soon as I share my reasons, much similar to yours, almost every single response if that they have a strong desire to do the exact same thing, but they simply don't have the courage to do it, either out of fear or they don't know where to begin. I was placed with a Military/Mafia/CIA family in Hollywood as a small child.
Because I saw the reality of what was running the States, I never felt at home there, never belonged there.

The one big benefit Turkey offers with it's passport is their excellent consular protection as compared with many countries. If your Turkish passport was lost in just about any country that Turkey gives you visa free, visa on arrival, of e-visa access to, it is a safe bet you could walk into a Turkish consulate and obtain assistance getting a replacement passport.
The Caricom countries that offer CBI are personally lacking in terms of consular protection, but as member states of the British Commonwealth, the UKs extensive consular protection network offers similar benefits to the Turkish embassies and consulates around the world. Interestingly enough, the UK Commonwealth's extensive network of embassies is often useful for Canadians, Australians, and New Zealand because while the CNA countries of CUNA like the US are quite selective about who they allow to visit or reside in their territories, their embassy networks are no where near as extensive as the US or the leading European powers of the UK, France, or Germany. While it is unlikely anyone would obtain citizenship by naturalization in Singapore or Malaysia, it is good to know that the extensive network or diplomatic missions those nations which do not allow dual citizenship are backstopped by the UK's nearly universal network of diplomatic missions as member states of the British Commonwealth. Like the US, the UK's network of consulates has a few minor gaps in countries that are not likely to be high on anyone's list of places to visit, but there are some gaps, but Turkey has an embassy in most of those countries.
A lot of Latin American countries where you may obtain citizenship through naturalization fairly quickly have good consular protection, but not as extensive as Turkey or the British Commonwealth provides, nor as good as the US consular protection coverage generally although the US leaves something to be desired in a few places you might suspect, but they are countries where travel on an American passport would likely be a poor decision.
Citizenship in an EU country typically provides not only an excellent travel document, but also consular protection not only from your country of citizenship, but also every other EU country in the event your home country does not have a consulate in a particular country. This means that France or Germany will likely be able to provide assistance if your home country cannot.
I believe the consular protection considerations are something people should consider when obtaining a second citizenship, but also, something to consider when planning to obtain a portfolio of passports.
@Jessy J I think you are confusing a US policy with a policy of all countries.
Malta for example says it will take 4 days at a minimum to process a request at a consulate or embassy to replace a lost or stolen passport while traveling abroad and even then you will need to present ID to prove your identity for a re-issue.
Uruguay citizenship is great one to have guys . Great tax benefits and countries access.

I was born in India, my grandparents came here from Turkey as pow of the first world war. I love Turkey and I don't fit in Indian culture. Growing up I tried everything I could to convince people that I love India but it never worked for them I am an outsider and they'll always see me as an outsider. I appreciate you mentioning that you never felt like you belonged in the US. Obviously this isn't a contest and I am in no way trying to undermine your feelings in any regard, but I along with many other Canadians feel the same way. Canada has always lived in either the shadow of England or the US, and never had an identity of its own to be proud of. I definitely want to diversify my portfolio, and see the world and find out if there is a home for me someone else.

We know that we can get a retirement visa in certain African countries, want to know which second passport that gives us the best opportunity to move there...We need affordable options.

We are not giving up our citizenship, but want to be able to leave to travel to Africa without restrictions. We have taught children in Tanzania on short term, but would like to stay for extended period or never return..

The value of foreign currencies often concerns me, despite the accelerated decline of the US Dollar. The same tech job in the US paying me six figures goes a lot further in places like Mexico than having a tech ob in Mexico and getting paid in peso. for the record: Vanuatu was given some months notice already and their visa free access is gone for sure.
I doubt UK will be a problem due to historic ties, EU depends. I doubt though at least for now.
I was born in Russia and am a dual citizen between Russia and the United States, because one of my parents is American. Definitely have gotten a “side-eye” before, whenever I’ve honestly said, “yes, I was born in Russia”, and have had to clarify that I am an anti-Putin Russian. Got used to it by this point, although it definitely would be a nicer feeling to say “I’m from ”, and get responses like, “oh! That’s a cool country? What’s it like? I’ve always wanted to visit 😊”

I want to apply for an Ethiopian passport as my dad was born in a town that formerly belonged to them but is now part of Eritrea as they gained independence in 1991. Do you know if an Ethiopian citizenship would be beneficial as a second passport, assuming I'm eligible for one?
Beneficial or not you should always take it. Like Andrew says by default for first citizenship take whichever you can - which is usually by descent. Countries in Africa usually don't allow dual citizenship, though some countries have started to relax.
@@AKSmith15 Upon doing my research further, Ethiopia doesn't allow dual citizenship. So back to the drawing board, it is.

Altho born in Australia, I have never felt at home here. The 1st time I went to Serbia (i still call it Yugoslavia), I felt right at home, so much so, I was introduced to a woman who is becoming my wife when I move there. I, by blood, am also half german and have zero like for Germany, or pull towards the people or the country. Yes, there are things I will have to adapt to once I get there yet that is everywhere. Just how they open and close windows in cars is anti-clockwise when I am used to doing it in a clockwise direction lol.......little things like that. And once I am there I will look into expanding my passport base 🙂

You cannot expand your passport base in Serbia. Serbia does not allow dual citizenship.

I heard that the EU will banned all countries who are selling passports for investment . They say all these countries who are selling do need a visa if you want to go to Europe . Even Malta is getting a warning again . There will be NO visa free travel anymore for countries who are selling.
unless EU wants to cancel Malta's membership they cannot do much about present naturalizations. if you are maltese already you will benefit as if you were always a citizen.

I will soon be getting a passport by descent. Can you please make a video on how you use your different passports. How do you choose which one to use. Are you allowed to use one when entering a country and using another when leaving. I might be wrong, but i thought you needed to use the same passport coming in and going out of a country.

@@mariadavis3797 yup... we always fly as Canadians. We only show our EU passports upon arrival in EU. We show the passport control the EU passports and the Airlines only see the Canadian passport. That way US transits are easy.

The Caribbean is also a good choice, because of Caricom if you have citizenship in one Caribbean country you can move to other Caribbean countries to invest and live. The USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Western Europe…all in decline now with a resurgence of socialism. If you are a person of wealth these are not places where you want to be right now.

I share your sentiment, but unfortunately I only have a US passport. I've been living in Russia since 2014 and worked hard over the last 11 years to learn Russian to complete fluency. Seeing this mess and its unintended consequences is a heart breaker. The fact that the west is "canceling" my beloved Dostoevsky (whom I read in Russian) is truly awful. Watching Russia slowly become a pariah state is a real bummer. I'm still grateful to the people of Russia who have treated me as one of their own and the Ministry of Education who gave me a full-tuition scholarship for master's degree, which I'm using for a career change.

I first read the title as “multiple chimpanzees.” I was excited for a moment. Obtaining multiple chimpanzees would be far easier for me.
All fair points except for the point about the identity. While certainly you can move to another country and renounce your citizenship, and have every right to do so, you will always be "from America." Your accent, for example, is a dead giveaway. You can personally identify as whatever you wish, but it doesn't change who you are. Just like a person who has a dysfunctional family can cut ties with them (even change their name) they never stop being from that family.
You can eliminate an accent. I live in a German-speaking part of Switzerland and when I'm speaking German (which is most of the time) people never guess that I'm American. I've been asked if I'm from Germany or Austria multiple times.

Besides, the "for example" indicates that there are other things that make someone an American, only that I used it as one of the components that clearly marks him as such. Yes, you can neutralize an accent or fake an accent, but it is still one of the many characteristics that makes someone of a place. Humans classify things by their properties (part of the problem with defining things). Man is more than a featherless biped, but is still a featherless biped.
@@etrice25 Lots of Americans do speak German (and other foreign languages) with a distinct American accent, but I worked on having accent-free German. In general, no matter where I visit or live, people don't label me as American and they are always surprised to find out that I'm a native Texan. In Switzerland, I've gotten asked if I'm from Brazil or South Africa in addition to Germany and Austria. Or, when I was in Egypt, people thought I was Greek and when I was in Greece, they thought I was Egyptian. When I worked in the Caribbean, people assumed that I was a Caribbean native who had been gone a while but returned, faking an American accent. But, I have an ambiguous look working for me and that makes assimilation easy. Honestly, the only giveaway that I'm American is my passport. Your results may vary!

When countries offer expedited citizenship to citizens of certain countries the general rule is that it is only offered for citizens by birth in or descent of that country, see Spain re birth in Latin America, but also, yes, according to the research I have done, Colombia and the Caribbean as well. I will say, there are plenty of good search engines to help find answers to these questions and many countries make their laws available online.
