Honestly, after playing Darknights Memoir and Grani & The Knight's Treasure, my interest in Terra has grown significantly, especially since those two helped me remember the names of certain regions and other operators. Makes me want to learn more about Terra and its history~ hehe AND THE SKINS WILL ALWAYS CAPTURE MY HEART! Arknights might be the first game that made me this obsessed with the skins of characters.
Glad you enjoy the game so far, and about the threat in last video, it maybe a side stories stuff but it may related to main story too, as in the main story is the Present, and side stories and stuff were past and futures. Hence they might all resolve in the main story and they excel at doing that !
Ohhh, that makes a lot of sense! I knew that the intermezzis and side stories happen at one point in the timeline, but I didn't realize that they're either in the past or the future, rather than happening at the same time as the Main Story! Very good to know~
The Il Siracusano event was SO GOOD. SO. GOOD. It ranks among my absolute favorite events in the history of this game, along like Near Light. 37:16 they're not *exactly* enemies, but they're not friends, either. I'll try not to spoil much but let's just say that Lappy is incredibly jealous of Texas. Also, that's where they introduced Italian voice actors for the Siracusan characters. Lappy's English voice is obviously accented, but she has a voice pack in pure Italian, and both of them are so good I want to cry. (Texas' English voice isn't accented because she grew up in Columbia, which is Arknights' USA.)
OMG, it was THAT good?!? Ahhhhhhhhhh, I wanna play it. I was soooo blown away by the videos too for that event, so knowing that it's just as good and maybe even better is such a hype for me! Oooooo, I can't believe Lappy is that jealous of Texas. Hypergryph has really done their work on finding really, really good voice actors for English AND other languages. The German actors they found for, for example, Viviana and Czerny are a joy to listen to. (I don't understand a lick of it, but my goodness do they sound good.)
44:50 the incoming threats mentioned here are more of an Intermezzi thing and are further expanded on in Integrated Strategies iirc, at most in the Main Story they're only mentioned as an offhand comment once or twice, at least as far as I've read However, the fact that they're Intermezzi and not Side Story implies they're tangentially related to the Main Story's direction (But, yeah, Integrated Strategies - the ones related to these threats are Mizuki & Caerula Arbor (17:50) and Expeditioner's Joklumarkar)

43:56 If you're interested with the story related to Aegir and Seaborne, the story starts with side story "Grani and the knights treasure" (one of the item in the story is important to the future story, and also the person that hid the item [will appear in IS3] is also part of the future story of Aegir), this is followed by "Heart of Surging flame" ( this is kind of minor part of the Aegir story and only introduce characters that's going to appear to the next story and will help for the futures context), and followed by intermezzi of both Undertides then Stultifera Navis, then lastly the story of IS3. Note: the order I said is based on my experience reading the stories.

Columbia is indeed more technologically advanced than other countries. It's Terra's USA. But there's still one certain region in Terra that's so more advanced than Columbia, it's Aegir. The end of Chapter 8 marks the end of the Reunion Arc, and from there on (Chapter 9), the story is currently in the Victoria Arc. Currently Global is up to Ch. 13, and CN is at 14.

Okay, so I'll give you some insight. The threats that was broadcasted by the AEgir (Underwater civilization) telling all the people on land to set their conflict apart and actually join together is because of the Seaborne, an underwater Eldritch Abomination that can literally adapt to anything you throw at them. the AEgir asked for help because they can no longer hold them any longer, that's why they said "They have breached into our Bastion." So yeah, we have Catastrophe, Eldritch monster of the sea named the Seaborne, and lastly if you saw the map when they panned into the north part with the unknown... long story short, actual demons live there.
Ohhhh, so AEgir is an underwater civilization! I don't think I really comprehended that people can live underwater in this world. So intriguing! But dang, THEY HAVE ELDRITCH MONSTERS AND DEMONS?!? I def def 100% never want to end up in Terra. Sounds like the worse decision one can make to potentially isekai to. XD
One minor thing to note is that the Aegir broadcast advocated for all nations to come together "under Aegir's leadership", implying a sort of superiority complex that will likely cause the great powers of the land to ignore or distrust them. I'm sure something related to this will be touched upon in the near future. Even the "Summit of Nations" which is depicted in the story of Guiding Ahead shows that the land powers have very little trust in each other to begin with, and everyone is afraid of the new age of superweapons that suddenly every nation is starting to build up. And meanwhile, the Seaborn threat keeps growing because Iberia and Aegir can't help but keep poking the hornets' nest.....

if the event features a limited operator its usually a pretty big event, the CN anniversary ones tend to be 3 weeks long (like the current one) and all of them have the rewards one would associate with a gacha game anniversary. (not mihoyo) so yes, texas was a big event

17:20 This melody along with a gorgeously beautiful background (you can check it in the home screen) is one of latest rewards for playing Integrated Strategies (IS) 3 and one of the main reasons I pushed it so far to unlock it. Sometimes it hits right into my mood, so it was all worth it. Though, it may sounds like there are not much other reasons to play IS, but that is not what I meant. This is mode is challenging and very fun to play, and I consider it the best mode in the game, with how much meme shenanigans you can do there with overpowered artifacts (buff items) for your units. Jumping to ending part of the video and your discussion about world's dangers - IS mode set in different themes and places, and two of those themes dive into stuff that may have evolve into even more dangerous threat to Terra than Catastrophes and Originium. The most recent IS 4 mode set in a snowy region of Sami and stuff there is fascinating, blood-chilling and blood-bumping at the same time. One of favorite setting in Arknights in general. However, both of those themes requires some privous knowledge of events, so when you will sharp yourself enough to try IS mode - I recomend to start the one with mysterious castle and Phantom, as it don't really require knowing other stuff. You already poked your feet into the waters of Intermezzi and Side Stories, so eventually you will be there, xD
Woahhhh, seems like IS will be super tough to complete! Still, it's cool that you can unlock stuff, like the background and melody! Also, thank you for the recommendation on which one I should start off with. Not sure if I'll start it until I have at least one E2 operator that I built myself though. Feel like life would be a little easier with at least one E2. XD
Integrated Strategies is a very fun mode, though it does require a fairly well rounded roster since it pools all of your owned operators at their current levels. You can get by with just 3-stars built up to their max (elite 1 level 55), at least one from each class, as long as you can borrow a good 6-star carry from your friends list. And it's totally fine to fail runs in IS because it consumes no sanity and even those fails contribute points that you can use to make future runs easier permanently. The rewards are also extremely generous and should help you build up your roster a lot faster once you can get deep into each run. The only thing you spend is time, since each full run can take an hour or longer if you can make it that far. You definitely should try to get one E2 operator as soon as you can, not just for IS but for all content as well. Once you have that, you can start borrowing E2 operators on your friends list, which will boost your options a lot since a lot of the best skills are locked behind E2. Both IS2 and IS3 can be pretty much steamrolled just with an E2 Texas Alter on her third skill, though she is not quite as effective in IS4. I agree with starting on IS2 first, since Phantom and Crimson Solitaire is a fairly standalone story and the mechanics are more simple and less RNG-focused. I'm sure you will enjoy the theatre troupe and abandoned gothic castle aesthetics a lot. I personally enjoy the baroque-style music from IS2 far more than in IS3 or IS4. The jazz music of IS1 actually surpasses them all in my opinion, but unfortunately IS1 will never become available again since the devs treated it as a beta test for the whole roguelike mode concept.
I just realized that no one else in the comments answered your question about the Chinese version trailers. Every time any new content is released for CN, they actually create two trailers, one with Chinese vocals and text, and one with Japanese vocals and Chinese text. For the various livestreams that the CN version has every 3 months, they always show the Chinese vocal and text versions for the audience and then release the JP vocal version on their Bilibili channel within minutes after the stream ends. Those are then immediately reuploaded onto CZcams by various creators. Six months later, when the same content is released on the three Global servers (JP/KR/EN), the same trailers and 3d animations are released, this time using only the Japanese audio for all regions but with translated text and subtitles for each of the respective languages. The JP side also produces the 30 second anime-style shorts, which then gets subtitled for the three languages and uploaded to their respective CZcams official channels as exclusive content that CN players will not be able to enjoy because of region locks, though I imagine that there are reuploaders on Bilibili too. The EN side sometimes makes its own 3d animations as well, some examples include the two extra animations you saw for Il Siracusano (the Texas Alter event). These are oddly never translated or released for the JP/KR audiences, since they also get their own exclusive content and music that likewise never gets translated for EN. Then finally, after another four months or so, the Taiwan server finally gets the content that mainland China got a year earlier. I don't know enough about how they translate and distribute their content, but I think they primarily use CZcams rather than Bilibili. I should point out that the Chinese voices were a somewhat recent addition to the game even for the CN server, because Arknights was originally developed with exclusively Japanese voices for every server region. Mandarin Chinese voices were slowly added to some characters starting around Year 2, followed by a small selection of EN and KR voices for some characters shortly after. Nowadays, every newly released character gets their localized voices immediately upon release in their region, with some EN voices even appearing in the CN version 6 months before EN players can actually experience it for themselves. Some characters on the CN side are also starting to receive regional dialect voices, for example Cantonese and other languages/dialects used in rural China. Some characters also received voices for Italian, German, and Russian languages to represent their in-game cultures. There are still some characters who lack one or more of the CN/EN/KR voices, but every character in the game has Japanese voices. For the most part, the trailers in all of the regions feature the same information, though the Global versions tend to be shorter because they cut out the "Implementation Plan" segments which show which characters are gaining new Chinese voices or dialects, since that tends to be unimportant to the players of other servers even though that data is still added to those versions of the game. Global also sometimes cuts out some of the rerun or record restoration announcements in the trailers, and also info related to alternative gameplay modes, so things like the recent DOS (Design of Strife) came as a surprise for Global players who didn't already get their news from the CN side 6 months earlier since it wasn't in the JP/KR/EN trailer for the recent Blacksteel event with Jessica Alter.

Arknights is really good at world building. It proves, that you can make meaningful side stories in events, that fit very well with Rhodes Island and their main story missions. It is one of the super rare games, that I can play for years, previous one being World of Warcraft. And Arknights is simple, on every update just clear stages and autofarm, thats it. Silly minigames, puzzles, chores are at most at every half a year thing.
I 100% agree with you on that! And it's because the world is so vivid and has so much depth that I get so fascinated by every piece of knowledge I get about Terra from the main story and from the side stories! It really makes me enjoy the game more and more each day~

That was honestly such a shock. And I thought that Oripathy and the Catastrophe were bad, but ugh, to think that there was something more threatening than that... I would NOT want to live in Terra. Makes me feel bad for the characters.

IS3 has a pretty depressing story. Also Mizuki best boy Honestly tho, it is sorta odd that Il Siracusano got so much attention from Yostar. Lore wise, Lone Trail is much more important, but they didn't get any extra pvs. Probably is because Texas and Lappland are just too popular 15:48 Legend of Luo Xiaohei a popular chinese web series that had its first episode released back in 2011. There are currently 40 episodes(most are under 10 minutes) + 1 movie + 1 manhua series. (yup they're known for their ridiculously slow update speed lol). The series is chill, cute, extremely smooth, and have top tier battle animations(the quality will get a lot better after the first few episodes). Def would recommend

I think you should ignore what that user is saying, since they are confidently incorrect and spreading headcanons as if they were factual. They were called out for it before too. Fake spoilers are still spoilers though, so this really shouldn't be discussed further. The answers as to what Terra actually is can be mostly reasoned out by properly reading the stories of Lone Trail (intermezzo), Expeditioners' Joklumarkar (IS4), and eventually Arknights Endfield (separate game with no release date but had two closed-alpha technical tests already), all of which are strongly interconnected. These all take place chronologically after even the current main story arc in Victoria, despite remaining incomplete in Global until 6 months from now. More stories that fill in the gaps are certainly in the works too. There is no need to actually be concerned with any of that though. Just play through whatever stories you like first and enjoy the ride.

Best part to me about these reactions is seeing her intrest in the world of Terra grow and her love for the skins.
Honestly, after playing Darknights Memoir and Grani & The Knight's Treasure, my interest in Terra has grown significantly, especially since those two helped me remember the names of certain regions and other operators. Makes me want to learn more about Terra and its history~ hehe AND THE SKINS WILL ALWAYS CAPTURE MY HEART! Arknights might be the first game that made me this obsessed with the skins of characters.
Glad you enjoy the game so far, and about the threat in last video, it maybe a side stories stuff but it may related to main story too, as in the main story is the Present, and side stories and stuff were past and futures. Hence they might all resolve in the main story and they excel at doing that !
Ohhh, that makes a lot of sense! I knew that the intermezzis and side stories happen at one point in the timeline, but I didn't realize that they're either in the past or the future, rather than happening at the same time as the Main Story! Very good to know~

Also, that's where they introduced Italian voice actors for the Siracusan characters. Lappy's English voice is obviously accented, but she has a voice pack in pure Italian, and both of them are so good I want to cry. (Texas' English voice isn't accented because she grew up in Columbia, which is Arknights' USA.)

Hypergryph has really done their work on finding really, really good voice actors for English AND other languages. The German actors they found for, for example, Viviana and Czerny are a joy to listen to. (I don't understand a lick of it, but my goodness do they sound good.)

this is followed by "Heart of Surging flame" ( this is kind of minor part of the Aegir story and only introduce characters that's going to appear to the next story and will help for the futures context),
and followed by intermezzi of both Undertides then Stultifera Navis, then lastly the story of IS3.
Note: the order I said is based on my experience reading the stories.

Il Siracusano was a MASSIVE event, just like Near Light, there were TONS of content for it, trailers and promotion galore! There was so much to do in the event, AND it will be the next rerun, you should definitely dive in and play it once it arrives again, it's SO good!
Leontuzzo and Lavinia are also AMAZING characters in this event, not just Texas and Lappland! The rest of Penguin Logistics are also in the event, the singer in the PV is Sora!
And yup, you just saw the final Discovered Terra video (for now) which warns us stupid, infighting surface dwellers about the Seaborn threat..... there's no telling what might happen!

The end of Chapter 8 marks the end of the Reunion Arc, and from there on (Chapter 9), the story is currently in the Victoria Arc. Currently Global is up to Ch. 13, and CN is at 14.

Okay, so I'll give you some insight. The threats that was broadcasted by the AEgir (Underwater civilization) telling all the people on land to set their conflict apart and actually join together is because of the Seaborne, an underwater Eldritch Abomination that can literally adapt to anything you throw at them. the AEgir asked for help because they can no longer hold them any longer, that's why they said "They have breached into our Bastion."
So yeah, we have Catastrophe, Eldritch monster of the sea named the Seaborne, and lastly if you saw the map when they panned into the north part with the unknown... long story short, actual demons live there.
Ohhhh, so AEgir is an underwater civilization! I don't think I really comprehended that people can live underwater in this world. So intriguing! But dang, THEY HAVE ELDRITCH MONSTERS AND DEMONS?!? I def def 100% never want to end up in Terra. Sounds like the worse decision one can make to potentially isekai to. XD
One minor thing to note is that the Aegir broadcast advocated for all nations to come together "under Aegir's leadership", implying a sort of superiority complex that will likely cause the great powers of the land to ignore or distrust them. I'm sure something related to this will be touched upon in the near future. Even the "Summit of Nations" which is depicted in the story of Guiding Ahead shows that the land powers have very little trust in each other to begin with, and everyone is afraid of the new age of superweapons that suddenly every nation is starting to build up. And meanwhile, the Seaborn threat keeps growing because Iberia and Aegir can't help but keep poking the hornets' nest.....

if the event features a limited operator its usually a pretty big event, the CN anniversary ones tend to be 3 weeks long (like the current one)
and all of them have the rewards one would associate with a gacha game anniversary. (not mihoyo) so yes, texas was a big event

17:20 This melody along with a gorgeously beautiful background (you can check it in the home screen) is one of latest rewards for playing Integrated Strategies (IS) 3 and one of the main reasons I pushed it so far to unlock it.
Sometimes it hits right into my mood, so it was all worth it.
Though, it may sounds like there are not much other reasons to play IS, but that is not what I meant. This is mode is challenging and very fun to play, and I consider it the best mode in the game, with how much meme shenanigans you can do there with overpowered artifacts (buff items) for your units.
Jumping to ending part of the video and your discussion about world's dangers - IS mode set in different themes and places, and two of those themes dive into stuff that may have evolve into even more dangerous threat to Terra than Catastrophes and Originium.
The most recent IS 4 mode set in a snowy region of Sami and stuff there is fascinating, blood-chilling and blood-bumping at the same time. One of favorite setting in Arknights in general.
However, both of those themes requires some privous knowledge of events, so when you will sharp yourself enough to try IS mode - I recomend to start the one with mysterious castle and Phantom, as it don't really require knowing other stuff.
You already poked your feet into the waters of Intermezzi and Side Stories, so eventually you will be there, xD
Woahhhh, seems like IS will be super tough to complete! Still, it's cool that you can unlock stuff, like the background and melody!
Also, thank you for the recommendation on which one I should start off with. Not sure if I'll start it until I have at least one E2 operator that I built myself though. Feel like life would be a little easier with at least one E2. XD
Integrated Strategies is a very fun mode, though it does require a fairly well rounded roster since it pools all of your owned operators at their current levels. You can get by with just 3-stars built up to their max (elite 1 level 55), at least one from each class, as long as you can borrow a good 6-star carry from your friends list. And it's totally fine to fail runs in IS because it consumes no sanity and even those fails contribute points that you can use to make future runs easier permanently. The rewards are also extremely generous and should help you build up your roster a lot faster once you can get deep into each run. The only thing you spend is time, since each full run can take an hour or longer if you can make it that far.
You definitely should try to get one E2 operator as soon as you can, not just for IS but for all content as well. Once you have that, you can start borrowing E2 operators on your friends list, which will boost your options a lot since a lot of the best skills are locked behind E2. Both IS2 and IS3 can be pretty much steamrolled just with an E2 Texas Alter on her third skill, though she is not quite as effective in IS4.
I agree with starting on IS2 first, since Phantom and Crimson Solitaire is a fairly standalone story and the mechanics are more simple and less RNG-focused. I'm sure you will enjoy the theatre troupe and abandoned gothic castle aesthetics a lot. I personally enjoy the baroque-style music from IS2 far more than in IS3 or IS4. The jazz music of IS1 actually surpasses them all in my opinion, but unfortunately IS1 will never become available again since the devs treated it as a beta test for the whole roguelike mode concept.

I just realized that no one else in the comments answered your question about the Chinese version trailers. Every time any new content is released for CN, they actually create two trailers, one with Chinese vocals and text, and one with Japanese vocals and Chinese text. For the various livestreams that the CN version has every 3 months, they always show the Chinese vocal and text versions for the audience and then release the JP vocal version on their Bilibili channel within minutes after the stream ends. Those are then immediately reuploaded onto CZcams by various creators.
Six months later, when the same content is released on the three Global servers (JP/KR/EN), the same trailers and 3d animations are released, this time using only the Japanese audio for all regions but with translated text and subtitles for each of the respective languages. The JP side also produces the 30 second anime-style shorts, which then gets subtitled for the three languages and uploaded to their respective CZcams official channels as exclusive content that CN players will not be able to enjoy because of region locks, though I imagine that there are reuploaders on Bilibili too. The EN side sometimes makes its own 3d animations as well, some examples include the two extra animations you saw for Il Siracusano (the Texas Alter event). These are oddly never translated or released for the JP/KR audiences, since they also get their own exclusive content and music that likewise never gets translated for EN.
Then finally, after another four months or so, the Taiwan server finally gets the content that mainland China got a year earlier. I don't know enough about how they translate and distribute their content, but I think they primarily use CZcams rather than Bilibili.
I should point out that the Chinese voices were a somewhat recent addition to the game even for the CN server, because Arknights was originally developed with exclusively Japanese voices for every server region. Mandarin Chinese voices were slowly added to some characters starting around Year 2, followed by a small selection of EN and KR voices for some characters shortly after. Nowadays, every newly released character gets their localized voices immediately upon release in their region, with some EN voices even appearing in the CN version 6 months before EN players can actually experience it for themselves. Some characters on the CN side are also starting to receive regional dialect voices, for example Cantonese and other languages/dialects used in rural China. Some characters also received voices for Italian, German, and Russian languages to represent their in-game cultures. There are still some characters who lack one or more of the CN/EN/KR voices, but every character in the game has Japanese voices.
For the most part, the trailers in all of the regions feature the same information, though the Global versions tend to be shorter because they cut out the "Implementation Plan" segments which show which characters are gaining new Chinese voices or dialects, since that tends to be unimportant to the players of other servers even though that data is still added to those versions of the game. Global also sometimes cuts out some of the rerun or record restoration announcements in the trailers, and also info related to alternative gameplay modes, so things like the recent DOS (Design of Strife) came as a surprise for Global players who didn't already get their news from the CN side 6 months earlier since it wasn't in the JP/KR/EN trailer for the recent Blacksteel event with Jessica Alter.

Arknights is really good at world building. It proves, that you can make meaningful side stories in events, that fit very well with Rhodes Island and their main story missions. It is one of the super rare games, that I can play for years, previous one being World of Warcraft. And Arknights is simple, on every update just clear stages and autofarm, thats it. Silly minigames, puzzles, chores are at most at every half a year thing.
I 100% agree with you on that! And it's because the world is so vivid and has so much depth that I get so fascinated by every piece of knowledge I get about Terra from the main story and from the side stories! It really makes me enjoy the game more and more each day~

15:48 Legend of Luo Xiaohei a popular chinese web series that had its first episode released back in 2011. There are currently 40 episodes(most are under 10 minutes) + 1 movie + 1 manhua series. (yup they're known for their ridiculously slow update speed lol). The series is chill, cute, extremely smooth, and have top tier battle animations(the quality will get a lot better after the first few episodes). Def would recommend

In the fall (since we are six months behind the Chinese server) there will be an event called “Babel”, plotwise it will show the past BEFORE the founding of RI and will reveal many mysteries related to the past of the Doctor. And after this event will be released the 14th chapter (if of course the publisher does not change anything with the release schedule). I think you should ignore what that user is saying, since they are confidently incorrect and spreading headcanons as if they were factual. They were called out for it before too. Fake spoilers are still spoilers though, so this really shouldn't be discussed further.
The answers as to what Terra actually is can be mostly reasoned out by properly reading the stories of Lone Trail (intermezzo), Expeditioners' Joklumarkar (IS4), and eventually Arknights Endfield (separate game with no release date but had two closed-alpha technical tests already), all of which are strongly interconnected. These all take place chronologically after even the current main story arc in Victoria, despite remaining incomplete in Global until 6 months from now. More stories that fill in the gaps are certainly in the works too. There is no need to actually be concerned with any of that though. Just play through whatever stories you like first and enjoy the ride.
