The #Photowalks series is all about bringing viewers to cool places in the Southern California (and elsewhere) area in search of the best photo spots to light up your social media, and to show how, when and where to get them.
Past #Photowalk episodes include visits to Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Balboa Island, the Griffith Observatory and Venice Beach. We went outside the area to trek to Pismo Beach, a road trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, Tokyo and Kauai.

What a great tour of Dana point! There were a few spots that I didn’t know about that I’m going to check out next time I’m down there. I love the selfie wall at Salt Creek, I’m guessing that might be new? I haven’t seen that before. And the dolphin spying at the end! What an awesome shot! So nice meeting you, too. And thanks so much for the shout out. : )

The fun of making these videos is making new friends at 6 a.m. on an overcast morning! That, and parachuting in and capturing the town as best you can with your cameras. Thanks again for all your help!

Beautiful video! You really captured the magic of the place! I've gone a few times for the day to the ritz there for lunch just because of the spectacular view. It's always magical. But will have to visit for the whale and dolphin watching next time.

Great video! I do love all the drone shots in this one. I haven't been to Dana Point in many years and it was great to see how different it is after all this time. It's still so beautiful.

A common trick for those time-lapses with mixed fast and slow-moving subjects is to also split timelapse. You make one timelapse for everything you want to speed up and then another regular video for things that look really strange when speed up (namely water). Then you mask and combine in post.

To bad they are going to change the harbor, rebuild and put a parking structure in. The new revitalization plan does not look appealing and now the area will move people out and in with the new commercialized. The plans don't even look very nice. I feel bad for the area and the residents and business owners.
