- In this video, we are exploring the Famos Pavagadh-Champaner UNESCO World Heritage site. In our last video, we were at Zand Hanuman temple which is located inside Jamughoda Wildlife Sanctuary.

After check-in, we went out sightseeing.
Champaner Pavagadh Archaeological Park is 50 km east of Vadodara, the capital city of Gujarat, and 68 km west of Godhra. Champaner Pavagadh, situated in the Panchmahal district of Gujarat, was the capital of Muhammad Begada. Champaner Pavagadh has many medieval and ancient buildings, including temples, mosques, forts, palaces, and step-wells. These buildings and temples were built from the 2nd century to the 16th century. Champaner Pavagadh Archaeological Park is spread over an area of more than 3200 acres and has a total of 114 monuments. The most beautiful and huge objects here include the mosque in the city. The mosque is visible right in front of the entrance from the main gate in Champaner.
This mosque is a private mosque built in the 15th and 16th centuries for the elite rulers and royal families. This mosque is a mixture of Indian and Muslim architecture. Built on a high plinth, this mosque is 56 meters long and 40 meters wide, with five arches and five gates, the middle gate being the largest, and two multi-story minarets. There is a dome inside each entrance of the mosque, and the largest dome in the center is decorated with very beautiful carvings.
Due to its distinctive architecture and beauty, the mosque of the city is also an important part of the Champaner Pavagadh Archaeological Park, a World Heritage Site.
In the year 2004, UNESCO included Champaner Pavagadh Archaeological Park in its list of World Heritage.
The entry ticket is Rs.40/- and it's open till 6:00 pm all monuments are closed by 6:00pm so plan accordingly.

How to reach from pavagadh bus station ?
From bus station you can hire shared taxi till macchi, and from macchi Ropeway or trek, is upto you.
