    I built myself a raspberry pi streamer for usb, thinking digital was digital. Now I know it's not and why. Thanks Hans. There are no shortcuts in audio.

    I use the allo digione signature hat SPDIF connected to Chord Qutest. I am very happy with the results

    Very good review.
    You never underestimate your audiance bringing simple answers. This deep diving in audio/ eletric complexity is your diferencial.
    Few people can translate it in informative videos for the audio comunity.
    Congratulations.

    Thanks Hans Bytehouse for this overview! Quite happy with my Limetree audio bridge 2. 😊

    The only bit I fully understood was that" with one watch you know the time with two your never shore"😊
    Seriously though I do hear good sound so as a subscriber I continue watching and slowly learning thanks.

    Usb might be asynchronous but improving the clock on my ethernet switch before my sms 200 ultra with an ntp ocxo server definitely improved the sound and the only changing aspect was the clock, same switch and same streamer.
    I can't explain why but it does

    Hello Hans,
    thank you again for this valuable video.
    I was wondering for a bit now if using the DAC in "exclusive mode" (ie in Tidal) will also lead to bit-perfect payback? It looks to me like this should be the case.
    Do you have any insights on this topic?
    Kind regards
    Kris

    If use 44100khz 16/24bit only so can optical toslink be the best option for me? optical toslink has not voltage and unaffected by external interference. Answer plz.

    Great video. Curious why the industry has not coalesced around an optical standard that overcomes the (artificial?) 92KHz limit of Toslink. In theory, optical should be able to support much greater throughput and be galvanically isolated.

    • @DueM
      @DueM Před rokem +2

      toslink can pass 192/24bit these days.

      96 kHz is the same sampling frequency for broad acceptance, from cheap to high end. It can do 192 kHz, but just. The Toshiba TOSlink plastic optical connector is the limiting factor.

    Thank you for this informative video. Do you have any thoughts on using a DSP? More specifically the "Mini-Dsp FLEX Balanced" VS "Mini-Dsp FLEX Digital".

    The world of audio is an abyss, a jungle. When you think you have a complete system, another portal opens. Like room reverberation. Or speaker stands. You are never really finished, but I guess that is part of the fun.

    Would you try and get a Topping HSO1 and HS02 in for review? I think the HS02 does a great job. Would also like to see your thoughts on a SMSL P0100 Pro

    My solution is not using my computer for music. My streamer is hard wired to fiber optic service through a CAT 6E cable.

    • @michaelwright1602
      @michaelwright1602 Před rokem

      Same here, but I did notice a substantial loss in bass when adding the fiber optics. Still playing with all of this.

      @@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel The fibre is interesting to say the least. I have a new Venus II 12th DAC, and I believe it is still breaking in. It sounds different by the day, some days good, other days not so good. I played around with the fibre, going back and forth. I can hear a difference, slight, but it is there. Bass is back...

      @@michaelwright1602If it sounds different day by day it just tells me your brain is working differently on different days and nothing to do with the hardware. I can listen to the same pair of headphones 2 weeks later and it will sound different but I know nothing has changed.

      @@mikeg2491Could be... Venus is gone, replaced with a PS Audio Gaincell that Amir and his crew trashed to no end, and it sounds fantastic with my 1970 vintage Sansui 4000 receiver. Replaced the KLH Model 5's with a pair of Zu Dirty Weekend 6 with the Supreme Hot Rod upgrade package. Sounding fantastic every time I fire it up. Not missing any of the Denafrips gear in the least. And that 53 yo Sansui simply sounds incredible.

    why not discuss HDMI or Display-Port. both can carry uncompressed Dolby Atmos / HD-Audio and DTS-X / Master Audio?
    Especially since HDMI is really the only way to digitally transport DSD from an SACD.
